I took some vacation with my hobby = no photos or videos. Of course I couldn't stop shopping new items so this is result. Summer is over = lot of projects incoming .... don’t afraid :-)
Its all good, quite the haul you bought, influenced by me a bit mentioning socket 1366 perhaps heh.
Guess you got some socket 771 xeons as well ?
I myself recently had too replace my R9 280 i bought in January 2015. direct cu II cooler on it.
Bought a gtx 1660 super from gigabyte for 223€ was an open box return.
Quite a bit less heat & more performance for modern games.
Though i never got around too trying the card r9 280 in windows xp too mess about with running something sensitive too framerate just to see what how ridiculously quick it would become.
Then again my windows xp laptop covers majority of what i want too run on my main pc anyway. It's a dell inspiron 6000, pentium m 1.7 ghz 1.5 gb ram & ati x300 integrated graphics.
Great, I also bought more hardware. But nothing like yours.
while you were on vacations, i finished my P4 3.2 HT retro machine, 2GB, with a saphire 3850 agp :D
Maybe one day i get a better case+ssd and make a video of the rebuilt
Sadly no voltage control to overclock much above 3.3...

I'd love to see a christmas 2009 top of the line build, that would be great, and windows xp too, fallout 3 and the like
windows 7 would be nice too, since it was a new OS in 2009
I actually kind of miss the days when the rear port layout was always the same on ATX motherboards. If you lost, or bought a board that didn't come with one, it was easy enough to find an I/O shield that would work.

1366 one love 4ever! My today's config is p6t deluxe + W3670 @4Ghz + 8gb x3 (triple channel) @2200mhz 10-12-11-26 CR1 with overclocked gtx 970. In in the near future i want to buy pciex (nvme) SSD (mobo have only sata2).

8800gtx was the beast back in the day, then they rolled out an driver update that stopped the fan turning when playing world of warcraft, rip that gpu..

Depend on your activity, luck and time. Some parts are rare and needs long years of waiting.
Can you try overclocking that insane lot of 1366 xeons? Preferrably under a chiller, but not required.
You should mail me a core 2 duo for my surprise cheap build for my gf who wants to get into gaming :P
