In YOUR instance, where your library is GamePass, I wouldn't see a need for it. In my instance, if they bring over my back-compat library of OG and 360 games, I'll be getting it.
I am still on my Series X/PS5, and had always said that I will go PC next as I may as well since I buy both consoles eventually anyway. However if the next Xbox (I am mainly Xbox) is basically a branded PC with Xbox OS, and at a decent price to performance ratio, they may stop me from switching to full PC.
I don’t upgrade consoles that often, it was late Xbox one before i swapped from ps2. The jump from Xbox one to series X was totally worth it. Whatever is next will have to be significantly better than a series X for me to even consider upgrading
You waited from the PS2 All the way to the end of the Xbox one generation to get an upgrade? That's a crazy jump lol the PS2 is an incredible console but you missed out on a lot of great games in that timespan. I hope you were at least playing your PS2 on a CRT with component because that's the only way those games look good other than emulation
I have my xbox consoles for the convenience of being able to play on my big screen without having to dink around with keyboards and mice and big picture mode and all the other annoying shit. Just turn it on and game. The graphics on the sx are great for what it is. When I feel like playing on pc I do at my desk with my UWS monitor and headset, mkb, etc. the thing that xbox gives me is the ability to go between the two seamlessly.. no more buying 2 copies of games, having 2 save points, having 2 different platforms.. I flippin hated that when I had a ps4 and wanted to swap between that and pc.. now with xbox they all play nice and I pick up on one where I left off on the other. I will be buying their next consoles whatever they are because they are great.
@@trinidad510 i used to, i hated dicking around with steam big picture, resolution mismatches, stupid wireless mice and keyboards, all of it was a giant pain in the ass. I will spend money for convenience and the series x machines i have and series s and even my old one s at work all play together nicely with each other and my PC when i feel like sitting at my desk . It's money well spent imo
Yeah I'm mostly in the same boat as you Doc, for me the games I currently have that are locked to the Xbox or PS console play good enough on the Series X and PS5 that I cant see myself needing to upgrade in order to play them basically forever while just upgrading my PC to play new games, that being said if Microsoft put out a PC handheld that also played my Xbox games that aren't play anywhere I would 100 percent buy that
This is the same reason why I didn’t get a PS5 Pro. Only difference is I’m saving for the PS6 and a new rig so I can have both. I’m good where I’m at right now with PS5 and PC.
I'm using a 5800x3D still, so you'll be fine for a while still, I can still play any game perfectly fine, the gpu is the most common upgrade most of the time if your not satisfy with the performance and only reason to upgrade CPU is if your on an extremely old generation
So you asked so I will tell you... 2:45... Holla back at me, DOC! tell me what you think? I switched to PC in Feb 2023, I have an X and S, TBH, and my S gets more play because of my PC. You and I are in the same boat,.. Xbox next console is needed for all those none PC only on console users. but there have to be two sku models again. $549 for handheld and that $699 ps5pro price tag for the next Xbox traditional console. " Xbox needs to bring back trade in program " What we are waiting on is that 2tb universal Xbox UI, duo-booting OS ROG like Series S power lever handheld... with the expansion cards compatible. Plus, Steam and Epic stores are pre-installed. So at home, our PC reigns, and Xbox handheld mobilizes and extends play anywhere ability. I just need > quick resume < on that handheld. Xbox handheld with Steam native will make you sell your Rog Ally today 😂 😂 say it want? My wanted spec Rog Ally X, like with AI feats 2TB ROM + Xbox Expansion Card Slot with Smart delivery & Quick Resume 16-32GB Ram 1080p @ 120fps-VRR panel XBOX/Windows duo-boot OS Hall effect Sticks and Elite controller back paddle top and bottom Usb-c port eGPU-dockable for future purchases. Fingerprint Sensor for login magnetic swappable faceplates to give that 360 era feel and Xbox labs customization.
The only way I'd be interested is if it's a handheld that finally bridges the gap between my PC and Xbox libraries. By that I mean I have access to all of my Steam/Epic/GOG stuff AND my legacy titles in my Xbox console library. I'm not trying to buy a digital library all over again on PC if I don't have to.
The only way PS or Xbox can get me to buy their new consoles or console-like machines would be to: 1. Make it upgradeable 2. The machines must have good cooling 3. They are cheaper than a PC equivalent with the same parts 4. No more holding games hostage to a certain platform.
Doc, The actual real upgrade path you are on that you are now realising is an ecosystem upgrade. The hardware is a factor of the ecosystem. Lowest tier: Playstation = closed ecosystem= most expensive performance/buck/services and most anti consumer practices To Medium tier: Xbox = joint Xbox / PC ecosystem (now adding steam games soon as per Tom Warren) Medium price/performance but also very pro consumer and better ecosystem features To Legendary tier: PC ( where you decide the OS and the hardware and can run anything ) and best ecosystem features and can easily upgrade. Why would you drop tiers? There is literally no reason to unless you just wanted to extend your PC services without building another PC as a second unit, and you already have a Rog ally for that.
If Xbox upgrades the GPU slightly where everything can play 1440p+ native and get the CPU to 5700x3d(or 5600x3d) level. It’s will be a worth while upgrade
if I were you I would wait for the rdna 4 amd gpu's to release and get a 8800 xt and a new 850 or 1000 watt high quality psu and a new cpu cooler since your current cpu is fine even for future gpu's

😂😂Dude already has a PC and he says he would only consider getting an Xbox if they bring out a PC🤦♂️ I think he just doesn't know what to spend his money on. If you have a PC just upgrade your PC and call it a day. No need to even be looking at game consoles at all. @erey214 that might be tru but I have an xbox qswell and most stuff I can still play with them on my pc and I feel future titles will have full crossplay support and if not I'll turn on my xbox but I will not buy another xbox or playstation
@nathsabari97 Ecosystem, lol. Doc really got you guys repeating that word. PC gamers rely on Sony exclusives to have great games. While having to WAIT for developers to release them years later.
