Biblical judgement means making distinctions between right and wrong. The Bible says judgement begins in the House of God (1 Peter 4:17). Thanking God for ODB & Pastor Rasool Berry sharing this piercing history from an uncompromisingly Biblical perspective. This is one of the responsibilities of the Church. Well done!
I'm an African from South Africa. I would like to say, we are with you in spirit, we love you. We cry together and that we will always identify with you.
Wow, at 89 Ms. Opal thought she hadn't done enough. Moses was 80. God uses folk in all ages to assist Him in creating a movement to let His will flow. Hallelujah to the Lamb of God. Let us allow ourselves to be used by the Hand of God. Let us all open our hands wide and say, Lord, here I am....use me. ❤🙏💕
Wow! I'm Haitian American sitting here crying!! I came to the US when I was 12. I never learned about Black WallStreet, the Oklahoma Massacre, or Juneteenth until recently. Those history classes left out what they wanted to leave out. There's so much more we in the diaspora community need to learn about our fellow brothers and sisters. This furthers proves why we need to unite as people of color. Thank you so much. This documentary was moving, inspiring, and eye-opening.
I appreciate your comment because many immigrants come to the United States thinking that AA are lazy. When in actuality, the majority of our efforts were systematically and intentionally destroyed.
Reading your comments Yasmine reminded me of the 1st slaves to free themselves with a physical rebellion as a group were Haitians. And it's been duly recorded that European former enslavers and supporters of the institution of slavery sought to punish the Haitian people consistently even until today in some quarters. One reason why Haitian boat people were repeatedly turned away from American shores. The Haitian insurgents were our 1st heroes and sheroes. American slaves were the last to gain freedom because we were too outnumbered to physically defeat our oppressors. But still our brave fought throughout America to gain our physical freedom. All chattel slaves were from the same west African continent so our blood and tribal ties are firmly connected. So Yasmine we are one. And as one we are obligated to save Haiti and all other former slave countries throughout the Caribbean and beyond. We have enough wealth and influence to do so here in America where we're all living and in close proximity to. Our history and present situation can't be thought of as separate. Hopefully Yasmine we'll come to that realization that we really can change and save ourselves from future oppression that is still being meted out in subtle and obvious ways. So your heart Yasmine is correct in the way that it feels when it recognizes the connection between us all. We must use our powerful intellect to complete our work of making ourselves whole as a new people. Much love sister ❤️
It's so grateful to see so many from other parts of the world to open their hearts to all of us here in America whom have lived with the stories and whom have had to endure the pain from within slavery. Thank you so much and we love you through the richness of our blood.
I appreciate you . kindness to my beloved humble kindly people learning and understanding more knowledge and belief of your wisdom in life history. Keeping my faith in my spiritual being to shine the world light 🕯️ on all of the meek ones . We here ! 🕯️🕯️🕯️
The torture that was put a onto, my people. I would love for my people to just sit down and watch these films, so that they can see exactly what was put onto our people maybe it can make us appreciate each other and treat each other with respect, love and care🙏🏽❤️.
Thank you thank you so much. I'm 49 and yes we have came along way an still have more to accomplish in this God fo saken country. That we built. God I love being black honestly and will never forget my ancestors." Throw my ashes in the ocean with my ancestors".
Happy Juneteenth and thanks so much for this incredible documentary and thanks so much to our ancestors for everything they went through to pave the way so that we could have the freedom we have today.
Very Thankful you have done this documentary. Very well done and may you know Christ is pleased. This massive ugly sin of the United States must be told that we may repent and look to God to reconcile us not only to Him but to one another.
This video is stunning because most people fail to understand how legacy of slavery. continues to affect us up to this day. For example, there was another study that identified a "trauma" gene in African Americans today. To his point, my DNA stated that my ancestors were kidnapped from Ghana and Nigeria (85%) and European (15%).
I am a Foundational Black American and we must keep fighting for our ancestors; past, present and future generations. If you are a FBA in American this Juneteenth Holiday belongs to you and your offsprings no matter what state you lived in. #Reparations
This was such an impactful film - Really poignant and informative, beautifully done. There is more work to be done, and true history, no matter how ugly, needs to be taught.
Amen. Oh yes. Absolutely. History must be taught. Truthfully and with an eye to justice. Especially now, in this country. I hope lots and lots of students get to see this powerful, inspiring video.
This was an incredible documentary I’m so glad I chose to learn more about Juneteenth today and finding this video. My heart hurts for all of the souls who endured the horrors of slavery, Jim Crow and even the way it affects us today. My heart is full of hope, love, and admiration for those who dedicate their lives and energy to fighting against oppression. Thank you creating this documentary!❤ happy Juneteenth!!!
Excellent Documentary and very balanced. Kudos to Rasool (Messenger in Arabic) in his presentation and clear deliverance. I pray it reaches as many Americans as possible to understand this rich American history. 💯 #biblemark12_29
This was so beautifully made. A lotta corporatized pieces of media on Juneteenth and Black History fail to do what this does: humanize it. I've learned so much from this and it's had such a profound impact on me. I was aware of what happened to Black Wall Street, aware of Jim Crow, Red lining, but not Freedman's Town, Birth of a Nation, or Jack Yates, and so much more this documentary shined light upon. There was a lot here that made my stomach churn, it made me sick to see, to hear. But it needs to be shown, it needs to be heard. It's ugly history, but it's our nation's history, and if we hope to fix disparities of wealth, housing, education, employment, and opportunity, we have to recognize our nation's past to improve it's future. Thank you for putting this together, and to everyone who worked on it.
It's an amazing journey our black people journey to freedom! the up and down of lifetime struggle to be respected as a human being. On one side, oppressors had a goal to control our life, on the other side, our persistence to resist all their mischief, cruelty, heinous crime against humanity and surpass that through our belief and endurance!!
Thank you. I have already been enjoying your African American devotional booklets, especially the HBCU one. May our Lord richly bless this newest venture.
This was great. Thank you. I live in Houston by way of Louisiana and really appreciated this knowledge and seeing that it stems from Our Daily Bread was topping on the cake. What did Lisa say..."Black people preserved Christianity for America. We kept the message of the Gospel alive..." What truth lay in that statement. Antioch Church when you look at it and realize its beginnings and the Reedy Chapel AME church in Galveston since 1848 ... God had a plan. His hand is still at work.
Thank you so much for this very hard to embrace documentary. I’m so proud to be in the color my skin. Thank You Heavenly Father for those who fought for our freedom then and now.💐🌹👏🏾🎉 To God be the glory, honor, power, and all praise! Just what I was looking for. My understanding of Juneteenth and our history has been increased and I will continue to gain knowledge and do my part to insure we have equality in every area.
I got chills when they were describing the black soldiers coming off the ships to liberate the black people in Galveston. I can't imagine what that moment must have felt like!
Today On Juneteenth I Watched The Documentary Of Galveston Texas, It Was Very Inspiring To View, Our African American History, It Gives Us Praise & Uplifting Going Thru Years Of Slavery & Bondage To Freedom.
