I think the plot worked out like this: every time travel isn't actual time travel, merely goes to a unique alternate universe. So Plackett and Diana went from Universe to Universe A and by accident, Jane takes their "exit". This creates Universe B. Diana, existing in Universe B, goes to Universe C. Diana is being led not by an AI, as I suspect, but by this "Phantom Dr. Plackett", as his time travel becomes part of the "fake past", so we get a fake Plackett, or a corrupted Plackett. As a result of it not being the real Plackett, Diana walks into a trap, and dies. In the future of Universe C, Placket vanishes, Diana never returns, so Marvin sends Henrik to Universe D to find out why. In universe D, We have a very fake Plackett, a slightly less fake Diana, and a real Henrik- but also a very unstable universe, so unstable dark forces can easily mess with it. The game's ending twist is that part of why all time traveler go weird or have problems, is that return itself is impossible- being sent home merely sends you to the next universe- a Universe E.- thus this universe is even more corrupt, and we get the downer ending. Previous time travelers fell apart because they were foreigners in a hostile universe. I think it's best compared to layers, like a photocopy. Time travel is you taking a photocopy of the events thus far, and traveling to the copy. But you end up making a YOU in the copy, who in turn will time travel by making his own copy. Each copy is a substantially flawed and decayed version to the point reality breaks down, allowing either monsters in or transforming orphaned dimensional travelers into ghostly, reality warping monsters. It's also akin to quantum suicide- you time travel, and in the original universe, universe 0, you just vanish. In universe A, you of course, seemingly pop into existence in the past, but never return to the future. In Universe B, time travel seems to be legit, as people who time travel vanish from the present, have a presence in the past, and then seemingly reappear in the future, but each case is actually someone from a different universe or an echo of someone from a previous universe. Either way, someone who time travels is never again seen in their own universe. Jane exists because her world was fairly stable, and just like ours. She exists in Universe A-C because her being part of A's timeline is copied to B and C, but isn't in D because that reality is so broken down the Titanic is empty of people Finally, because how many time travelers supposedly came before Henrik, and the dead Marvin we find, that we're actually deeper in this rabbit hole than we think- instead of being 4 universes in, we could be thousands of universes in, making the story one of being dug too deep into the chaos of the universe. Perhaps in a universe C, Marvin was sent to the past, not Henrik, and owing to it being more stable, was able to get to the room before Diana- only to be killed by a Human Plackett or a Monster Placket, Jane's arrival is slightly different, and thus Henrik is sent. Things become horror because the "base" world was already crumbling and unstable, just unbeknownst to the Marvin and Henrik of that story. It's also possible the Marvin on our communicator isn't the same Marvin as the one we spoke to before "time traveling".
Well from what I can tell, it's not that it wasn't the real Titanic, it simply wasn't THAT timelines Titanic, but an alternate timelines that was just at that moment having their Titanic sunk. So Jane is an actual passenger, real one. But their inter-reality hopping essentially freed that realities version of 'god' or 'devil' and they decided to hitch a ride back
@@DragonRoost1 That wouldn't make sense though- didn't they say the place was made to look like the intended destination? As in, the entity that was freed saw where they wanted to be and essentially made a giant simulation/set for travelers to be in?
By going back to setup the extraction, doesn't Marvin allow for Jane to come back which makes hendrick go in? Does that mean the monster wanted Jane in our reality?
Jane can't be a passenger from Titanic though. They established that the Titanic they travelled to was a false recreation in the other dimension. Jane is something else... Very entertaining playthrough. I've been a huge Titanic fan my whole life so I enjoy seeing content like this even if they aren't historically accurate and extra horror (Titanic's sinking was a real life horror story after all). Since you mentioned wanting to explore Titanic more you should definitely check out Titanic: Honor and Glory. It is an ongoing project to create a virtual recreation of the ship that is as historically accurate to the original as possible. While it is still far from done they do have a free demo versions that is VR compatible you can play.
This is so cool, really impressed by the water graphics! I'd be really interested in seeing the explore mode, just view the Titanic. Is it viewing it as it is in game or viewing it before, during and after the iceberg and sinking? This would probably be quite creepy, especially if it had all the passengers and you could choose who you explore as. First-class passenger, third-class passenger or staff. If your staff you could have duties to perform, such as crown control, and lift boat loading so you are responsible for how many of which class get off the ship safely, engine worker, as we saw when you arrived on the Titanic… if love to play. Being able to explore and experience it from all these different perspectives…
There is a new indie game coming out called Zoochosis. You play as a zookeeper who must feed animals, identify ones who are infected with this strange virus that turns them into monsters, and create cures for them. All the while, the setting takes place at... night. Release date has yet to be disclosed.
For some reason the time travel element in this game reminds me of "Quantum Leap". With Marvin representing Al and the time traveler themselves representing Sam. With possible "Evil Leapers" interfering with the missions or missions. It's definitely not like "Doctor Who" in terms of time travel. But yeah, more like "Quantum Leap" but with AI and robots or something. Meets "Terminator" too maybe?
My theory is the reason jane was able to come to the future was because she went with the grain of time when everyone els was going against the grain Thats why when Diana got to the door it shut and the time machine started but Diane didnt see anyone because the different universes are overlapping due to the travel back in time distorting human features or monters of another relm All an all i this jane succeeded in time travel with no issures is because she went with the flow of time, everyone els was going backwards
I feel bad for the lady that traveled to the future. She is elderly and has experienced severe culture shock, and everyone thinks she is insane. While the ones that traveled to the past made fake versions of themselves, I don't think it would be the same for those that travel to the future since it has yet to happen.
wonder if jane got caught or led into a dimensional hole and entered the fake place before escaping. maybe she was used to make the place look more realistic for the travelers to use them and escape.
*Disclaimer: My theory is very long and stems from what i learned about temporal and multiversal mechanics from both Doctor Who and Star Trek, so read it if you have the time, the patience, or the ability to read fast, or all of the above. In any case, I believe my theory fits better for a time travel story than what @pyrosnineActual described. Their theory works, and definitely is acceptable. However, to me... that's just not how time travel stories should be explained.* R.I.P Diana. Frankly, I'm not surprised events worked out as it did. Because Diana went M.I.A and presumed dead and Jane was sent to the future instead according to Henrik's time period's history. Due to that, Jane getting sent to the future and Diana going M.I.A was a fixed point in time. You can chance small things, but not the major events. It's the paradox problem. Some things have to happen so something else will happen. Personally, I believe that the whole "light" aspect of the game's lore is just a misunderstanding as the humans in this game's universe(multiverse?) haven't succeeded in creating proper time travel. In fact, as stated in the game, they just did something akin to Doctor Who's Earth-2 involving dimension hoppers that allow people traverse to another reality that doesn't run at the same speed or vibrational frequency. However, due to that... they can't safely return to their dimensional or temporal point of origin as they become an integral part of the series of events of the reality they travel to and their bodies become soaked in foreign dimensional energy. The creatures are likely formless entities curious about the physical universe, hence why they created a replica of the Titanic and the ocean it sank into. They even copied the passengers' forms to experience the event firsthand, but the arrival of Diana and Henrik and Plackett was unexpected so they increased the pace their bodies and minds started conflicting with being in a time period and universe they don't belong. A process similar to what Phillipa Georgieu was dealing with in Season 3 of the massively divisive Star Trek: Discovery tv show. So, the creatures are both antibodies to deal with transdimensional "invaders" and an undying punishment for all those "time travelers" that died aboard the Titanic. Using this theory, the replica of Jane is likely one of the formless entities sent to the universe the "invaders" came from to cause "time travel" to never happen again. Of course, Henrik is the only one able to make it back to his home universe. However, he was unable to prevent one of the entities from stowing away inside his body. That or he is being imprisoned inside another creation of the entities' as a labrat or prison, but with both having the focus of scaring the living shit out of him or driving him insane at a much slower pace before inevitably turning him into one of their monstrous puppets.
Holy shit this went from Titanic sinking simulator to the concept of a fake destination designed to be a horrific killing chamber to attract, trap, and torture those foolish enough to time travel...
Does anyone know what VR kit Wolf uses? I'm getting a quest 3 but want to get a different headstrap but don't know which one to go for. Any suggestions?
But wouldn't that be a paradox in a way because I am not good with names but the girl character went in the time machine From the Titanic. To me that would make sense
i thought this was suppose to be a 6 to 7 hour game.. im positive i heard that but anyways still looks nice just confused on why they say that... for 20 its still worth it regardless i guess
From the sounds of it Diana got sent back to test time travel, plackett then goes back to save her and then Hendrik goes back to save her since no one knows what happened

I'll watch what you just mentioned
when they get explore mode fleshed out could you show it?
No big ass spider? We've been swindled...
I love Duck you sucker, its a great spaghetti western it's other name is Fistfull of dynamite
What was up with the video's false thumbnail of the giant spider over the ship? It's not like you to show something that isn't in the game.
Doesn't matter UA-cam people always complain and whine about something it's all I ever see from UA-cam people.
That monster is in the game I have it
well you could say that the "fake Titanic" is like a spider's web trapping the "time travelers" in a way.
