I love the haunting sound of the common loon. It is almost like a wolf howling. You have so many small birds making beautiful soft sounds in North America. In our area the majority of the birds are larger and make very loud calls. They mostly drown out the soft twitter of the small birds. Great compilation of bird calls👍

Yes, the common loon does have a very chilling yet beautiful voice, doesn’t it? Thank you for your comment. From what country are you if I may ask?

I'd call the red-throated loon annoying rather than beautiful, lol. But I enjoyed all of them. Nice to be able to compare the hermit thrush and the wood thrush, and I appreciated seeing & hearing birds from Mexico.
Fun fact: The first time I saw a varied thrush, I thought it must be a cross between a robin and a Baltimore oriole!

I think birds demonstrate a spectrum of beauty. The red-throated loon’s call might not project your typical idea of beauty, but there is something in its call, that raw, despairing ejaculation of grief and sorrow-it arouses great vehemence in the soul. That must have been a good surprise to have beheld the wondrous varied thrush! I myself have never seen one, for I have never gone to the west, but I hope one day that I might! I’m glad you liked this one; thank you for commenting!
