    I wish Sony makes an A7C body with the A7iii tilting screen… that would be great for street and travel photography

    If you are a new user please do consider the S5 or S5ii. The S5ii would be a clear will for the price and specs. If you are mainly interested in photography then you could go with the S5 and find that used for about 800 dollars

    • @PaulTakesPhotos
      @PaulTakesPhotos  4 місяці тому +2

      Excellent alternatives, still feel the A7IIi has the edge over the Lumix Full Frames but the prices for the these lumixes are really cheap. Always surpirses me why Lumix cameras are underhyped and underappreciated

      @@PaulTakesPhotos Believe it or not, I just sold my Sony ZV-E1 and kept my G9II for mainly this reason.
      There were more reasons like:
      - lens selection
      - versatility
      - feel in the hand
      - menus
      - photos
      - Stabilisation
      But colors and the stabilisation of the G9II were the main reasons.

    Was my very first Full Frame back in 2019, I was around 4 years Fujifilm X-T1 user and had to sell my gear to buy the A7III (mint condition). I regret that change and just less than a year, I move back to Fujifilm. Every specs beats my X-T1 except for the Jpeg. The A7III Raw can produce great photos of course if you have spare time to edit or you are being paid to do so. I added a Lumix S5 with the S 20-60 Kit lens new for €1199 back in 2023. Fully weather sealed set-up and produce better Jpegs in my opinion.

    • @PaulTakesPhotos
      @PaulTakesPhotos  4 місяці тому +3

      That is one of the points I was trying to make. The jpegs on this line at the time are in terms of colour science bland, almost in every single instance it does require editing. I shoot on the Fuji, Leica, Ricoh and Lumix too. I do agree jpegs on the Sony don't come close.

      @@PaulTakesPhotos One of the things I remember with the A7III is when I took it in Amsterdam and ended up scratching my head when I went home to look at my photos. The Zeiss 24-70 f4 is a really good lens by the way. I had used it in couple of Landscape.

    Hello ! I’m just starting out on my photography journey . I have been using my iPhone 15pro max, but I’m still getting a lot of noise . In darker setting . So I am ready to upgrade . I like your review on this camera , but would I still need an extra lenses. I’m just starting out , so I don’t want to spend a lot of money and end up moving on to something else , but I want to get the best shot I can get , of dusk ams dawn, without the noise 😏

    • @PaulTakesPhotos
      @PaulTakesPhotos  2 місяці тому

      Thanks for the question. The best lens for buck from Sony is the 85mm f/1.8. tak sharp. It is a narrow field of view (often used for portrait or product) yet i use it for events and low light almost all of the time. Used this lens doesn't cost a thing

    Hello There ! I’m looking for a camera for low light situations , such as this one . My goal is to take pictures of dusk and dawn , without noise and glare . Can you advise which lenses I should get ? I’m just starting out . I am currently using My iPhone pro max 15. I need a real camera for these shots . Thank you in advance .

    • @PaulTakesPhotos
      @PaulTakesPhotos  2 місяці тому +1

      Thanks for the question. For lenses Id go for lenses like to 85mm f/1.8 (for narrow shots) or for instance the 20mm f/1.8 for the wider shots.
      Most important tip though is for low(er) light situations. Dont sacrifice your shutter speed, just bunk up your iso. Aperture wide open. Takes a little practice but the results are awesome

    • @lkay90888
      @lkay90888 2 місяці тому +1

      @ Thank You 😊 I’m out west , in the US . To give you an idea of what I’m trying to get good captures of, are sunrises, sunsets and landscapes ….I would need wider lenses, that also has a good zoom . As I have a lot of palms 🌴tress and other trees around me , I would like to zoom in on , to see the birds as well .

    • @PaulTakesPhotos
      @PaulTakesPhotos  2 місяці тому

      @@lkay90888 ah okay, 85mm remains good choice, but 70-200 f/4 is excellent, 70-200 f/2.8 is devine (and expensive). those are nice zooms. Additionally Sigma offers a few budget alternatives. Sony 200-600mm is a beast but really more for birding and fast moving sports (football, F1 that kind of thing)

    I've been tempted to buy an A7III w/lens but the S5II color science is calling my name! S5II with lens is like a $200 difference.

    I just purchased a used a73 for testing with 40 2.5 and Sigma 24 3.5. Setup is nice but when I tried 24-105 f4 my index finger was crumped between camera grip and the lens (where it's getting wider) so I don't know how people use this body with bigger lenses.

      Well that is an issue I highlighted. I don't have those issues when using the 70-200mm f/4 but did have it with the 200-600mm and that the collar becomes important but it remains so-so.
