    Yes I have clay soil but am told pond liners make fish grow faster
    Also that earthen pond fish have a muddy taste

      @@NefunoKabwe I didn't 2 ponds size 20x30 using manual labour. It's a nightmare. It's two months now and this is when they have finished. The cost feeding them, the fuel to go and check on the works etc. Not worth it. Met a guy with an excavator and when we did the numbers, I could only spent half of what I have spent. Plus the poknds could v been done in a day. Your ponds are neat too

    Thanks for you video its educative.We stocked 900 fingerling In a 10 x 10m fish pond from mid january to September.source of water was natural cover with clay soil.feeding was ok from starter to finisher, unfortunately in 7 months fish were still stunted in growth.where did we miss it? could it be the issue of not draining water,less oxygen etc??

    Wow, what is the use of solar? And the water will it not over flooding or the air rator will automatically stop on its own pumping the water? I have learnt alot though you must have served enough to do the project, 👌👌👍👍👍💖

      The drainage pipe resolves the flooding issue. The aereter is for oxygenating the pond and solar is what powers it since we have no zesco

      Hi it depends on your stocking density and at how many grams you choose to harvest. Let’s say you stocked 4500 fingerlings,at 12fingerlings/sqr mtr and if you harvest at 300grams you simply multiply by number of fish . So in this case About 1300kgs

    If you have a place with nonstop water flowing source ,it would be much simple and easy to farm tilapia . You don't need a pond nice and cost as this.Any form of Mimi reservoir is ok. With good water sources , you can build a fish factory ,no anymore a farm . The only thing to do is go to find the way to lower the tilapia feeds .

      Hi, we have not invested much in recycling the water. we just pump it directly to the small veg fields though not all of it. Its still work in progress. I don't provide training but there are a lot of people that do. You may refer to my last video on training

      Concrete lasts longer but is more expensive, I hear fish grows slower in concrete ponds. Am yet to see when I try

      The drainage pipes are disigned in such a way that there is an overflow at a certain point. Like a sink but of course if quantity of water is too much then you might need to drain properly

    Lovely, am digging 3 fish ponds3sizes 10 by 15 so this is helpful.by the way, how long do you have to use the aerator per day per pond or you invested each pond one aaeratorand i want to know the aerator is run by how many watts of solar panels.

      wow thats nice to hear that you are digging. we use one aerator for 2 ponds because budget constraints otherwise we would want to have each with one because they are small fountain like. The watts I don't know need to ask electrician. I will get back to you
