Great looking Van and another cracking video. Love those days when the clag clears!!! Never had such a senior moment but then again have to check the book before heading out!! Look forward to episode 2.
Thanks Graham - I should have check my book as opposed to last minute changes and internet guides and maps ;) I've learned my lesson lol Thanks for watching ATB Murray
I've got a VW California, campervan and it is great. A long day walk and back to a comfy bed, heater and a nice meal. I have driven up to Durness (big storm at night), via Wales from our home on the south coast and last year drove to the very top of Norway (Norkapp). I have done other trips to The Isle of Skye and the West Coast, Wales, Europe etc. When you get older (that's me) it makes perfect sense. You can also carry lots of kit for all weathers. And the good thing about Scotland is, you can camp, almost anywhere. Its ironic you talk about the weather. The fist time I ever went to Scotland in 1967 (with the army), there was a heatwave. Some guys got heatstroke, which in the army is considered a self-inflicted wound. We climbed The Cobbler and down into the vally and up Ben Donich with relative ease. Then camped along the shore of Gare Loch - no tents. I returned in 2016 and there was another heatwave and it took me about six hours to go up and down The Cobbler again.
Cant wait to get my own campervan - hopefully this year!! In terms of your experience with weather in Scotland.. well it sounds like you bring the good weather everytime you visit - can you let me know when you are coming so as I can plan for the next heatwave ;)lol Thank for watching ATB Murray
Always find your videos inspirational Murray, this one particularly so, as it relates to something we’re about to start to do. Love the way you include the full experience, weather warts and all.
Murray, last year I found a picture in a tarn in the Lake District and thought, that looks like a good place to visit, put it on the bucket list and even found a route in a guide book. Then going through some old photos saw one that looked like the picture of the tarn I had seen. Other photos in the same wallet showed we had done the walk and I showed the photos to Jane who said she had zero recollection of the walk. Any way we did the walk on next visit to the Lakes and even sitting by the tarn had absolutely no memory of the place. I could kind of understand it if it was boggin but it was a lovely walk and a beautiful place. You are not alone!
Spectacular views (as usual 👍) and excellent film (as usual too 😊). Thanks for all the hard work you do to produce these awesome and entertaining videos 👍👍👍
Absolutely Stunning video Murray !!!! Ah, those Seniors moments !!! They just tend to creep up on us !! :) Love the Campervan, Much more Comfortable than the tent !! Cheers from Oz !!
Lots of senior moments creeping up on me at the moment unfortunately!! lol Bad back , no sleep, memory loss!! haha I agree the campvan was a little more comfortable than the tent luxurious I's say :) Thanks for watching ATB Murray
I've spent so many times wondering around in the cloud thinking what the hell am I doing but on those rare occasions when it clears, even briefly, it makes it all worthwhile. Great film and thanks for sharing. Ps don't worry about the senior moment they come us all and it still looked like a grand trip. Atb Brian.
Great views off the top there eventually, so the climb was worth the effort. Don`t know about doing the same hills again and not remembering, but I have watched some of your videos again that I thought I hadn`t seen before. Lol.

lol. I've never done the same one unknowingly, often done the same one 2 or 3 times in one week, just to get the shot I needed. That camper van looks way more comfy than a tent! I want one. Another great film as always. :)
Ian Bowie Photography thanks Ian - the van was superb - can’t wait till I get enough pennies to buy my own - might get another shot of disco daisy before then though 🤔👍😊 Thanks for watching ATB Murray
@@ScotlandsMountains have a look at different campervans rather than vw. We have a Toyota Alphard camper conversion. Almost same size as a vw, much more comfortable( its a luxury mpv, not a van) much more reliable, don't rust and cost a fraction of the price.
Hi Murray, great video. I have spent quite a bit of time on the campsites around Arisaig , close to where you parked over night. Its a pity you did not get a little further up the road. The sunsets over Rum are spectacular. Indeed the photo on my name is one of those sunsets. Looking forward to this series thanks for sharing. By the way I love my campervan ;>

Another great video. Was just wondering what trousers do you wear? As you never seem to put on waterproof over trousers when the rain comes in. Love the camper too. Get a few pointers off Mr Heaton on converting your own, works out so much cheaper, and would make a great video too.
Hi Trevor, These trouser on this video were Sigmond Alpinism 700s which are waterproof with vents, so if rain is forecast I wear these - they are great - very similar to my Jottnar ones which I did a vlog on . @@ScotlandsMountains You're a smart man 😂 Just out of interest, what do you use to log the hills you've done? Do you just write a few words next to the hill description in either the Munro or Corbett book you have?
Enjoyed this Murray, and the others in the series. I'm actually looking at some Corbetts to do myself next week. In honesty I've got zero experience with winter climbing, so don't feel comfortable tackling a winter munro, so I'll be doing some easier Corbetts around Kingussie and Aviemore with my far more experienced uncle.
