    I think that u definitely need more industry. The city is huge and just needs more. I believe that’s the reason that the clinic complains for no medical resources

      Commerce City, Colorado would be a good source of inspiration or ideas for an industrial town nestled between some highways on the outskirts of the city

      @rthomp03 5 місяців тому +3

      Yes, that's obviously the biggest problem. Office and Industry demand are through the roof. People complaining of high house prices are likely unemployed.

    • @zwanni20

      thats also why residential demand is so low as nobody wants to move someplace without any jobs

    • @SanctumGamer
      @SanctumGamer  5 місяців тому +2

      I personally think the industry and office demand in general is disproportionate to the size the city. But I have to play the game as it is so I am planning an upcoming video to just address the office and industry demand. Not sure what that will do for my traffic, but will see.

      @@SanctumGamer It looks like the RealisticDensity Mod addresses this. From the description:
      "Have you always been annoyed that you have to build such large industrial areas? Or that your business takes up almost as much space as your residential areas?"

  • @willcaine1208
    @willcaine1208 5 місяців тому +1

    I think the reason the commercial demand went down was likely just because of the traffic problems you were having. Similar to the medical clinic, which couldn't receive goods because the trucks were stuck in traffic, the commercial demand goes down if goods supply becomes too difficult/too costly.
    I would say the residential probably helped as well, but I don't think lack of population for employment was a major factor as industrial and office demand weren't also down (noting that many types of those two specializations don't require regular goods import)

    • @SanctumGamer

    Click the button to the left of the RCI bars and it should tell you what is affecting the demand for commercial (as well as residential, industrial, and offices). I usually never have commercial demand disappear but usually have low density residential disappear instead. My guess is you are correct that you didn't have enough residential to support commercial demand, but it's just a guess

    i just wanted to say that your builds are absolutely amazing and beautiful!
    The other more important thing is that you are not looking up the commercial, office and industrial demands. You might want to check the unemployment rate of your city and and check the status barat the bottom which clearly does not have much medium and high density demands. You could do this thing is that addressing more industrial, and office demands which will reduce unemployment and remove the high rent demand and moreover it will increase your medium and high density demand.
    Pls take this into account as i absolutely enjoy your videos

    • @SanctumGamer
      @SanctumGamer  5 місяців тому

      Thanks. I generally for beautification and generally ignore the bars. But in the absence of mods, I have to pay more attention to it so will be addressing the office and industrial demand in an upcoming video.

    I think a pedestrian bridge over the railway about in the middle between the two stations in Tyranno would be used quite a lot.

  • @dxelson
    @dxelson 5 місяців тому

    North and south of that new city is basically split in half by the railroad. consider adding a crossing somewhere, atleast a pedestrian crossing. 41:29 You can consider sinking the rail track a bit as well, building a ground level overpass conecting the north and south part of the city while leave that entire space as an open park.

    • @SanctumGamer
      @SanctumGamer  5 місяців тому

      The ground level overpass is a good idea. Will definitely remember this for the future.

    It would be nice to see some walking paths from the residential to the primary school at Tyranno Point. So citizens can walk to drop kiddies off.

    You need connection to your industry. If commercial zones dont have access to the goods your industry produces, your commercial buildings will abandon and your commercial demand drops.

    I think you should blend that area with a mini skyline of a smaller city, in the middle of that empty area. Maybe expand the industrial zone by the train station near harbour.

    I know it's petty, but i really wish construction plots in cs2 didn't all use the giant cranes. And i wish the animation wasn't just an empty lot with a building pop in.
    The game does have things that are impressive though. It looks like the city population can grow significantly higher and it tracks each of their lives.

    I wonder if you'd benefit from using the "public transit and service vehicles only" road upgrade. So you can make either one lane or an entire road for transit only.

    • @SanctumGamer
      @SanctumGamer  5 місяців тому +1

      I do wonder this too. Unfortunately didn't plan for it 'cause when I upgrade the current roads to test this out, it reduces the available lanes to the general public to 1 lane and that causes even more bottlenecks. But this is definitely a lesson learnt for future builds and something I want to experiment more with.

    I ran into similar problems with parking in my city. So far the answer has been to build more parking as the ones I build were complexly full. Also, putting parking on side streets and commercial/industrial areas seems to also help traffic (think the back of the commercial zone, not on the main street). You should be able to get to a stable point doing that.
    Regarding your commercial, what is your unemployment situation? I keep running into high unemployment where the game only allows me to zone industrial (or if you have it, offices). Basically as someone said below you probably need another industrial area if there is demand and high unemployment. [Ah, I missed the 10% unemployment so that's not it. - Also curious to see what the issue is. -edited]

    • @SanctumGamer
      @SanctumGamer  5 місяців тому

      My issues were also related to parking, but my parking lots weren't necessarily full. I'll talk about that more in the upcoming video. Other than that, my unemployment rate sits around 8% 'cause when it drops below that, I notice the offices and industry complain that they don't have enough workers. But I will try and build more office and industry in an upcoming video to see if I can drop the demand for both of those down. Then see what the effects on the city are.

    hi! the jetties in the harbour should be a little lower than the pathway that connects them to the street. this is how it looks in most of the small harbours i've seen. but anyway, nice made city. L&R from Austria, rellik

    increase your budget for police, fire, transportation, education, city services, and anything else that has issues. you have the budget for it! that will fix a lot of the city’s issues. the point is not to make an aesthetically pleasing looking game, but using the mechanics to make it work!

    • @SanctumGamer
      @SanctumGamer  5 місяців тому

      I tried this. In the end, it didn't help because of the traffic issues. But I'll explain more on this in the upcoming video.

    • @SanctumGamer
      @SanctumGamer  5 місяців тому +1

      I didn't plan on doing that. But that's because I haven't decided what the area between the town and the port area will look like yet. So this might change.
