With all due respect It would be, however it’s not my place to ask Andy to run somebody else’s steam engine. In the video, Andy said the guy has been waiting two years for it. And I would rather let the guy have fun with his engine, then me.

Yes 5000 it’s completely hand made and takes a year to make it. I’m not sure what you’re getting at here but there’s a reason for that price point

@@JonSpinkI’ll admit it’s pricey to say the least. However they’re extremely rare and they take a full year to make.
Lets face it this is a one man shop. Their business is the making of the #50. I did buy and get several years ago the #50 but passed it on to my grandsons. For me I am too old to wait 1-2 years !
I’ve been waiting over 7 years for a boiler drain valve for one of my Jensen 50s. Don’t think I’ll ever get it.

@@Bardsbrothersrailroad I’ve talked to Aleta extensively about it and she pretty much told me I’ll probably never get one. I don’t understand how they can continue to build the engines, but can’t just make one extra drain valve. Andy even shows you the parts to build one in your video. Pretty sad if you buy a $5K engine and there’s no parts support for it.
@The-Junkologist do they make other parts for the 50 besides the drain valve or no
@@Bardsbrothersrailroad according to Aleta, they only make enough parts to build the engines, nothing extra.
@@Bardsbrothersrailroad when I ordered the drain valve over 7 years ago, Dorita told me that Andy would make an extra one the next time he was building them and that it could be 6 months before that would happen. I was totally fine with that, but here we are over 7 years down the road, and I’m sure Andy has built more than a few in that amount of time.
Nice engine but I would buy a lot of something else other than that. With all due respect.
