I've got one exactly like that my parents got me in the mid 70's from the Sears Christmas catalog...I really loved it and polished and oiled and cleaned it a lot...I had Asthma pretty bad and I had to be careful that the smelly fuel tablets didn't give me a major asthma attack...I always quickly ran out of the Esbit tablets and had to wait until next Christmas to get another 2 or 3 boxes....My dad had a small medical air compressor that worked a nebulizer that converted his COPD medicine into a mist for the bad lungs he got from being a coal miner...we would sometimes hook the little air compressor into the boiler and run it on compressed air instead of building a fire in it....I'm 66 now and it's sitting 5 ft away from me on a shelf as I write this
hopefully you had a good fathers day and in all sincerity....thank you for sharing. i am finding the range of the designs of these little wonders fascinating.
What a nice video about a steam engine which helps you to bear your childhood in remembrance! As the Jensen engine are very scarce on the German market I bought the #75 straight from Jeannette in 2021 - and it still has the wooden handles … 😉
Looks like mine, only mine doesn't have the reverser/timing lever and my "smoke stack" went away a long time ago. I may have to dig it out of the attic and run it again. Mine will reverse, only if I stop the engine and start it in the reverse direction. I guess the valve eccentric is made differently as it rotated a bit when it ran backwards. I bought mine on clearance from Hobby Lobby when I was in middle school, while I was on summer vacation visiting relatives in Oklahoma City, back in the 80's.
👍🏼
So quiet and so smooth, what a lovely engine. Thank you for sharing it and your story. ❤
What a wonderful Fathers Day gift !!!! Thanks Bud

I have just got myself a Jensen #75 and I was wondering what is the best lubricant/oil for my engine and were can I buy it.
I use 30 weight engine oil for the movement (mains, rods, valve gear) but a good quality steam grade oil should be used on the cylinder.
