Finding out your fiance has slept with several of your friends and never told you is a deal breaker. I would ditch her and those "friends" that never told you that they slept with her. Also, It's illegal to get a paternity test in France, the reason given is that it would break up so many familys that it would affect the country as a whole. this should be enough of a reason to not ever marry a french person, when there is so much unfaithfulness that it has become the norm, to the extent that they have changed laws to protect the cheaters it's best to stay clear
I'm French and I've never heard of such a thing. I don't know where you're from (I'm guessing not France) or what experience you have with the country's law, but I'd say the appropriate thing to do in those cases is to back up your claim with a source, as I admit I'm not a lawyer and not the most familiar with the law, but research on my side seems to indicate that it's not illegal, you merely have to go through a juge to do it. Assuming it's because everyone cheats so much is jumping to the meanest possible explanation with no proof whatsoever, and I'd appreciate you not spreading misinformation about my country without anything to back up your claims.
@@JustTochi (google search: is paternity test illegal in france) In France, it is illegal to conduct a private paternity test without court permission. @@JustTochi In France it's nearly impossible to get a paternity test without the mother allowing it. Best case scenario you'll say that you're not the father and want to not have parental rights and then you'll wait and pray for the mother to want to do a paternity test to prove that you're indeed the father, but sometimes the judge will just say that you're the father even without DNA proof and you'll have to pay child support for a child that you're not sure if it's yours or not

imo the biggest red flag from the very start was the age gap, it's no wonder Op handled it the way he did considering his age. anyone who lies about anything (body count, kids, friendships with exes, etc) at the start of a relationship is a major red flag and the age gap between them just made it all worse. too bad OP is tied to his ex for the next 18 years

Threw me off as well, while I can understand it's only five years, and other couples have a significantly larger age gap, I doubt I could ever date someone five years younger than me. Especially if they still have "teen" in their age.
@ way to wildly misinterpret my reply but fuck it, I'm saying that if you are in your mid 20s, you should not be dating anyone with teen in the age. Because a multitude of reasons. I personally don't agree with anything larger than a 10 year age gap, but the older you are the more life experience you have, the better informed decisions you can make. So you proposed a 30 year age gap, sure, if the youngest person was 45, why not; let a 45 year old date a 75 year old. I'm not going to argue further.
I really hope this is just rage-bait, but if this is true, this is why her body count matters. I don't want to blame the victim here or make any excuses for what she did, but OP kind of set himself up for this. He was warned in advance what kind of woman she was. Her past matters because the best predictor of anyone's future behavior is his or her past behavior. If you want to know what she'll be like after you marry her, you need to look at her past. As for those two disgusting excuses for "counselors", they ought to be expelled from their so-called profession. A counselor's job is supposed to be to help you process and cope with your emotions, not to try to gaslight you into accepting and tolerating betrayal and abuse.
