- A quick NBC News NY segment from anchor Carol Jenkins which aired after the premiere of "Cry for Help: The Tracey Thurman Story."
I have the movie but there is a copyright claim by Dick Clark Productions which prevents me (or anyone else) from uploading it.
That movie was so realistic. The actor who played the lead in Pet Cemetery scared me with his performance.
And did you see his performance in "Sins of the Mother?"
@@asclosetocrime Yes. Dude deserved a Oscar back then.
Nancy Mckeon played the roll of abuse victim Tracey Thurman and Dale Midkiff played her abusive partner in the movie. Very realistic made for TV movie based on the factual true steory of Tracey Thurman who was beaten so badly ran out into the busy streets crying for help. Highly recommend this movie.!!
I've seen this movie several times and it gives me chills. My mother was an abused wife for many years until she finally put an end to all the violence in 1993. The humiliation, physical, verbal, mental and emotional abuse she endured was unbearable to watch. As a child you feel helpless, but more than 30 years later, every time my father barks, I bark back. He hasn't laid a hand on her in 25 years, but the verbal abuse continues. As women we should never allow a man to mistreat us in any way. There's always a first time, but make sure it's the last time too.
@@charmainia1It was a TV movie. So, I would say an Emmy.
I saw this movie when it was first on, and it’s scary real.
My mom was the director of a women's safe shelter and when I was a teenager she made me watch this movie.
We can always learn from these types of movies. Such as how to save money in case we need to get out. I felt so sad for Tracy because of her pain and suffrage. This type of abuse I don’t wish it on my worst enemy.
shes smart for doing that because we always think we can change them and we cant
I remember this and the movie when it came out. Unbelievable so many people watched it happen.
It's sad. I remember like yesterday my mom and sisters and I were watching it on movie nights we used to have
I remember watching the Tracy Thurman Story on Lifetime as a kid, I was terrified for that poor woman. That was my first time learning about domestic violence, and it was a lesson that stuck.
That's because it's scary to think that there are men who say they love when in reality they do the opposite. That is why we women have to value ourselves as a person and even more so as a woman and make intelligent decisions when choosing a possible partner because as the saying goes, the heart that we do not see below we do not know (makes sense when said in Spanish).
Several years ago I was in a very toxic relationship and the only reason I was with him was because I was on the rebound when my ex-fiancé practically left me standing at the altar (it's been 20 years since then and the humiliation and hurt of that event still remain with me). It took me a very long time to bounce back but I finally was able to with the help of a psychologist who showed me how to love myself. Ladies, I know it's scary to be alone but sometimes it's better to be alone than to be in a toxic relationship.
I really felt awful for Tracey Thurman, her abusive, violent husband should have gotten life in prison, instead, he served only eight years in prison instead!!
Who is nancy mckeon?
Horrific Experience.
