YES I COMPLETELY AGREE!!! I used to watch Lifetime all day. Especially when I was home from school on bed rest while pregnant, or just plain old sick! They were very emotional. But they opened up my eyes about a lot of things especially toxic relationships, and teenage pregnancies. They got to you to your core!! I TRULY wish they would come back with movies like this again!!!!

My mom and I were incredibly close. She made me feel like I could go to her with anything and everything, and I did.
She even told me once, “There are some things I *don’t* need to know.” 🤣🤣🤣 I cracked up laughing…and so did she. I held nothing back from her. She passed away unexpectedly when I was 21; she was 55. I miss her so much. She was an AMAZING mom, and I wish all daughters could be as open with their moms as I was with mine.

I'm not going to watch this because I saw this movie a long time ago on Lifetime, and I'm too busy to take time out of my day for it, but I ended up searching for it because that one scene when Gary Cole's character takes the young woman out of class really stuck with me. He was willing to put his job at risk for that young lady. If I recall, she got him in serious legal trouble and made him lose his job when she could have been his girlfriend and the long-term solution. Ungrateful

I think this movie has been highly underestimated for quite a long time. It touches a very sensitive subject that nowadays has become a great concern about children abuse and molesting. I wish we could actually watch it often in TV, as it is indeed very educational both for parents, children and teens.
Gary Cole is definitely a great brilliant actor! He managed to make me hate him before the first 5 minutes into the film! He started teaching Drivers Education a few years before I started High School, I had heard the rumors but didn't think he'd ever bother me. During DE, you have a partner, the last day my partner was absent, as we finished the last day I excitedly asked "Did I pass!?" He reached over & rubbed my leg & replied "I don't know, Did you?".. I was frozen, I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I pulled into the school parking lot & started walking home. The next day he handed me a slip saying I had failed my Drivers Ed course. When I got home my mom asked if I was ready to go get my license, I showed her the slip & she said "You've had all 100%,how could you have failed" i told her what happened... that night she told my dad. And when he wrote what he wrote in my journal, that wasn't all he wrote, he also said that it was his loss and had drawn a smiley face. That's not appropriate to write to a 13 year old girl. There were already rumors circling about him at school, about his advances towards other female students and he would purposefully ask them to stay after class and then when they missed their bus, he would drive them home, it wasn't a one time and isolated incident. He would also find the Simpsons episodes of the big breasted beer girl, literally just those. And the first time that he leaned back in his chair, his head bounced off my rear, that was the last and only time because I figured out a way to walk around him.

When I went inside after he left my Dad asked who that was and I told him. He was livid. Shortly after that the teacher was fired. When I asked the other students if any one knew why, they said they heard a parent complained about inappropriate behavior toward their kid. All the students were mad and wanted to know who the student was. I was afraid my Dad was the one who called the school which was the kind of Dad he was! I never asked because I didn’t want to know. This was back in 1978. The teacher was very popular with the students but that was way over the line.

We as people of society know that someone who is being sexually molested is a major crime. The quote at the end of this film stating "Its about abuse of power" has so much meaning because if its being happened, it needs to be talked about, someone needs to say something. I am so glad Amy finally said something to her mom towards the end because I can tell at some parts that Amy did not feel comfortable and she wanted to say something at some parts of the film and she did not want to as well. Like, in the scene where he takes her to the woods he starts kissing her & she looks visibly grossed out & isn’t kissing him back.
