  • 17-year-old Thomas Heilman punched his ticket to Paris tonight, winning the 200 fly in 1:54.50. Heilman was on the world championships team last year at age 16 and brings a wealth of international racing experience to his first Olympics even though he is still just a teenager.

      Maybe Thomas Heilman won’t win any medals in his first Olympics-in 2000, Michael Phelps came home emptyhanded from Sydney. But he’s just getting started. Phelps competed in five Games before he retired.
