Finally beginning to understand better balance and being a “ Dad” changes the game. Embracing your Plan B when approaching how you sense your life/living is a good thing. You’ve just won something that can replace the medals- a wife( friend/business partner/buddy/lover)- a healthy son- the ranch= a great space.Being honest can crown or crucify and you have found that balance.

Olympic swimming before Phelps was based on talent, technic and hard work. Phelps changed all that. Now, it’s all about being perfect and being a machine. What has this sport become.
Wow! That intro. I know the feeling. Why did I take that breath. Why did I take that day off. Why did I eat that "entire" pizza. In the big picture, most guys my age have a waist line bigger than their shoulders (and consider golf as exercise). Well, hearing it from the fastest man in the world to 15 meters (and 50 yards) - every now and then, it’s ok to take a break.

What's wrong with swimmers that they need therapy? I think Michael Phelps started a trend. Strong in the water weak in the mind.
The pressure that is on them to succeed at world level stages. It takes years of preparation and discipline for 50 seconds of swimming.
