i had around 20 beetles since early 60´s, it wasn´t powerfull but a joy to enter in it for the first time, it might not have a radio but it came with a speaker on the left of the steering wheel this before the modle showed with a dash , the metal one only

I have to say the Beetle is a car that doesn't appeal to me. It comes across as a hairdressers car. But in saying I do look for the obligatory beetle when seeing an old street view picture as they sure were a popular car back in the day. A lot of people would not know that they were indeed made here in Australia. WHen people think of Aussie made cars they think Holden, Ford, Chrysler etc.
I have to ask Glenn, are you still with Unique Cars or have you moved onto this channel? I've been hoping you would do an update on the original commodores that you recently purchased. Also I tried to comment on the VT video but comments were disabled.

Welcome to Retro Rides! I continue to work across several titles. Sorry about the Commodore videos - factors beyond my control...

they were frabricated in several countries , was easier to assemble them in each continent than thransport the cars from it´s original german factory , the most famous of all, Brazil as it got more than one or two models that most of them didn´t reach Europe but in late 80´s some exclusive brazilian VW´s were built in this South American country , like the Karmann ghia younger model around mid 70´s , the brazilia , the SP 1 and 2 amongst others more modern models like the santana (80´s), the golf(mkI) pick up and others i don´t recall know the Sp1 & 2 were amazing nice they had a sportive body and the interior was really sportive 70´s style , i had one in Brazil when younger as my family had there a vacations house, i asked why if other Brazilan models came to Europe why didn´t the SP´s came too, the answer was that the front lights were low they were the same of the Brazilia, but due to the shape of the body were to low for european market but before knowing this i never noticed it, it had good projection of light at night, but i saw a videom here showing some german guys who restored one and with a huge tall exaust conical shape but those where for the buggy´s on the sand dunes that there was sand all over and to avoid sand entering by the exaust, i think, no other reason for it to be so strangelly assembled in the back of the buggy´s but on a SP restored sure looks strange
