Lovely and heart rendering. Does great justice to Ian Curtis' performance by approaching it from an entierely different angle.
I have loved that band since 1980 & that's the most beautiful cover of any of their songs that I have heard.

Just two performers and it sounds like a full orchestra. What is it that 5 seconds into a song you hear for the first time you are captivated.This version of New Dawn Fades. Has done this.
The vocals are too perfect for this song...
I agree. The vocals of Ian sound like he wants to die - and of course he did - and that's why I want the original song to be played on my funeral. It will be the fulfilment of a great longing for me, the day my remains are put in my grave. It's Ian's music that's part of the mix of things that keeps me alive. It's a great comfort for me the spot is already laid out for me in a nature burial site nearby.

For me it prove how much Joy Division was ahead of their time at least 2 decade, it could fit for Metalica or Evanescence.

Wow. I'm 61 now & remember Joy Division as i was a young punk back in the day. I'm sat in my living room right now in the dark next to our beautiful jack russell waiting for my mrs to wake up & stumbled upon this video. You wouldn't believe the tears rolling down my face! This is absolutely beautiful!!!!!! Please tell me you have cd's available i could buy ?

100% approved Eden/Noelle. I love that you managed to spin this masterpiece in a completely different direction and still succedded in keeping the emotion in the track alive. The dual-vocals work perfectly here (and big thumbs up for even considering to attemtp singing Ian's pain). Lastly: I Love the Cello addition here!!
EDIT: Listen to this version a few times over a week - it gets better.

Nicely done! A tight and sparse interpretation with such a haunting melody and cello work.
I had a little journey in the past half hour. So I watched "The Equalizer (2014)" which had song near the end. And I thought: "Hey, that's from "Heat (1995)"". So I compared both soundtracks until I found a match: "New Dawn Fades" bx Moby. That song brought me to Joy Dovision and now I'm here.

This is good. I've being scouring youtube for New Dawn Fades covers and I thought Moby's (terrible), John Frusciante's (promising but he was high and disjointed), and some Eastern European prog metal band were all there was. But yeah I like this. It has the emotional charge the original has.
