Hi Dacob, I just purchased a new lipstick & liner directly from Chanel’s website and the little black drawstring bag that they now give you is still made in China, but it’s now completely nylon or nylon-like material. I was expecting the cotton bag like you were showing in another video from the beauty section of the boutique. Maybe they only hand out the cotton bags when you buy from the store, not online. However, I still think this continues to cheapen the brand. For what we pay as consumers, we let them have their way with us because they know they we will still keep coming back for more. With that said, I too have purchased from pre-loved sites because of getting a tip from an influencer. If I can find a beautiful designer bag for a decent, yet still expensive price that is pre-loved, I’m going to snag it because I can’t stand paying the higher prices for lux brands that aren’t anywhere close to the quality that they used to be. JMO?
They used to make he pouches in nylon. They switched to cotton pouches but perhaps they are still using he nylon pouches until they run out of them first.
But they can't interfere with people's ownership rights, once someone buys something they can do what they please and resell it because it's ones' legal right. If they don't want everyone to buy their bags and want to interfere with people's rights it is not gonna end well. 🔥🔥

I see nothing wrong with wearing my vintage Chanel jacket with jeans and Adidas trainers or a designer handbag with a non designer t-shirt. Nobody should really dictate us what to wear and how. I don't understand also why some brands, mainly Hermes, force us to buy some unnecessary staff to be able to buy an actual bag. If the brand doesn't want to sell a product I'm after, they can do one. So many other quality brands to chose from these days. Looking forward to your next amazing post 👌😊

When you go to Bicester village ( designer outlet) its like people go wearing all their designer pieces st the same time. Its like some sort of dress code 🤣 I love fashion sooo much but its v tiring needing to keep up. Never feel like I have the right pieces in my wardrobe. Then when I get there its no longer on trend 😢 & I have to start over.
well the place where i live (which is a relatively small market) has several chanel outlets - so how luxurious or sustainable can that be if you scale up in much larger places all over the world - not so different from starbucks ?
It's so crazy this whole cycle that luxury brands have created. It's exhausting. I am completely turned off by Chanel right now and actually feel guilt when I want to purchase something. It's not buyers remorse, lol who is she, but it's me feeding into the monster chanel is creating. It's me giving money to a company who has downgraded their quality yet is charging more than ever, feeding into the overproduction, feeding into the corporate greed. I no longer see them as the dream bag to have or the iconic fashion house. Also as I get older I want quality over quantity, and I mean Chanel old school quality, leather inside and out, stitching that will last a few lifetimes. It's a struggle.
Luxury designer ready to wear is disproportionately priced compared to leather goods. I'll buy ready to wear from Jenni Kayne, Zadig and Voltaire, Paige etc. I don't understand spending 2-3K on a dress or sweater when you can get a luxury bag or a few pairs of shoes for that much
🔥 🔥 🔥 you are absolutely right. I believe that our society has lost what’s important, human value in which we care for each other. People are more focusing on obtaining material things, thinking they will increase their value in society. Material gain, which was further enabled by technological advancement, is the product of capitalism and became the main focus of our living. Corporations feed on our material desire. They’ll want more and more food (money) as they keep getting bigger and bigger. It’s unhealthy.
I could care less about exclusivity or status, and I don't buy overpriced status merchandise of any kind. I usually buy products from companies who started off in the businesses in the products they sell offering good quality at a fair price, so leather goods from fine leather goods companies who don't market themselves as luxury brands. For example Coach for bags). Vionic, Merrell for shoes. Various retailers for clothes. So I don't own anything resellers would take, but I also think stuff sold on resale markets are still overpriced, and personally wouldn't buy it. I think if somebody absolutely must have a Chanel flap bag or Cartier love bracelet, they should try to save a few bucks by buying it 2nd hand. At least they're not paying as much for a name, and somebody who has regrets can get some of their money back. Chanel lost its legal case in court to shut it down several years ago.
Honest question, Dacob, are you okay? If it's stopped being fun, and started feeling like pressure or a cult, I think almost all of us in the comments would be fine with you buying fewer things and simply showcasing your knowledge and style!

This has nothing to do with the conversation but buying from a reseller does not guarantee getting a cheaper price. Prices on reseller websites sometimes higher than new
I totally agree

🔥🔥☄️ fire, how the world still feels right now. Marketing is insane.

Luxury designer ready to wear is disproportionately priced compared to leather goods. I'll buy ready to wear from Jenni Kayne, Zadig and Voltaire, Paige etc. I don't understand spending 2-3K on a dress or sweater when you can get a luxury bag or a few pairs of shoes for that much
💣 I could not find a flame so I found a bomb! You are the bomb!
Thank you Sheila 🥹🥹🙏🏻🙏🏻🔥💖
Seriously that site sure as hell is not cheap by all means
Did we lose all our social skills during the pandemic?
Far Fetch has higher prices because Chanel is TAKING A CUT

Honest answer K, I am okay. I think you might have missed the point I was making. Xoxo
