- For the third consecutive day I decided to go and film steam on the mainline again. This time Vintagetrains’ Shakespeare Express with BR(w) Castle class 7029 ‘Clun Castle’ at the head.
I decided to head to Bentley Heath crossing for the first shot. The Castle slowed for the station as the barriers were still up. Once the barriers had gone down the Castle opened up, making an incredible sound as it passed. The second shot was supposed to be at Solihull but I relocated due to three loonies in high visibility vests doing TikTok’s on the platform and generally pratting about. This ended up being a good thing as 7029 came thundering round the corner at Dorridge.
The final shot shows LMS jubilee 45596 ‘Bahamas’ working Matlock to Kidderminster SVR, filmed at Blakedown Foot crossing.
