Melissa's fangirling over every moment of Baylan and supporting Sabine's choice has won me over
The more I see of Baylan Skoll and Ray Stevenson's performance, the more I'm saddened by his passing. RIP to a very talented actor
It's so incredibly sad - he's giving such a wonderful performance and I wish he could see the love he's getting!
Why sabine and not Grogu? Because Grogu is highly talented in the Force, and thus VERY susceptible to falling to the Dark Side. Sabine? Nope.
Why because Grogu needs to be with Mando... And Grogu needs to pick his own path

I think she started training Sabine before encountering Grogu. Obviously something happened and it didn’t go well. She did not want to go back to Sabine for training, but needs her just good enough to team up. I think she learned from the first go round with Sabine that attachments don’t work.
Well she wasnt training sabine either during the time she denied grogu
I feel like Baylan's case was similar to Barris' disillusionment, just that he remained composed and simply left the Order, rather than going insane like Barris did.
He's sad about anymore Jedi being killed, respected Anakin and didn't want to hurt Ahsoka until provoked. A man of his word, while also being able to easily get into someone's head.
Don't think he respected Anakin going by a few things he said about him. Maybe respected his abilities but hated what he ended up doing and becoming. That's the sense I got from Baylan. A man who lost everything including his faith because of Anakin. I think this is why he dislikes Ahsoka even though he definitely respects her abilities being the Ones Padawan. Didn't want to kill her because she's one of only very few force users left in the galaxy but was forced to do so. So far I like Baylans character and need to know more of his back story. Damn shame we lost Ray Stevenson. Would have loved to see what he did with this character.

I like the idea of the World Between Worlds being the literal embodiment of what it is to be in and be one with the Force, therefore this is where the likes of Qui-Gon and Yoda can’t be found.
The Force penetrates and binds the world together. The way the World Between Worlds is shown very much seems like the pathways penetrating and linking the world together

Yep he is a "fallen Jedi" which is a better term than the egregious "Dark Jedi". He is a man of his word, its just he thinks what he is doing is right, when it will not be.

Since Ahsoka trained Sabine before meeting Grogu, apparently she stopped Sabine from going to Mandalore to fight along her family or even save them before Gideon attacked them, she said "Ok I learned my lesson, I won't train someone who has attachment to others any more" and I think she accepted Sabine again because she saw her determination and wanted to be trained again. But, again, she missed the fact that Sabine was way to attach to Ezra.
17:57 He promised her to be reunited with Ezra so he takes her with them to keep that promise. That was also probably the main reason why she gave him the map, next to not getting harmed.

Ahsoka isn’t dead. Come on. She will portal to where Sabine is like Ezra did. Seeing Worlds between Worlds is incredible in live action! We learned that the order has fallen, Cal fell in love with Merrin. Yet Huyang still follows old protocols. Ahsoka keeps reminding him that. Baylon is one of my favorite new characters in Star Wars live action! He’s been great! Seeing Anakin was totally unexpected! Love the Vader reference! Wonder if he’s the “Fallen Jedi” 🤔🤷♂️

I don't think she's dead - I think Anakin somehow yonked her into TWBW before she could die.
She lets out a gasp when she wakes up - just a hunch that you don't need to gasp for air if you're a Force ghost.
"I didn't expect to see you so soon" might mean "I expected to see you at your death down the road, but here we are" ...

1:20 Good point Melissa. What isn't spelled out in this series is that Ahsoka has attachment to Sabine, due to their time together uncovered by Clone Wars nor this show yet. This is why Ahsoka would train Sabine but not that sack of potato bag that is Grogu.
Also it didn’t go well with Sabine, and that was before meeting Grogu. Hera convinced her to go back to her, and she is only trying to have Sabine good enough to suit up
Perhaps Ahsoka' learned from past mistakes of her master Anakin who fell to the dark side due to attachments and fear of losing ones he love, Ahsoka may have thought Sabine's attachment to Ezra would be detrimental in her path as jedi, hence truncating her training... or perhaps, Ahsoka felt her own growing attachment to her padawan was leading them astray. It's probably throughout the series thsu far, Ahsoka would reiterate that good intentions may lead to wrong consequences, or stress making the difficult decisions to do what is best, aka sacrificing for the greater good @@LaCheeserie

I thought in old canon Sentinels were blue? Weapons-based Jedi used blue; those who focused on the Force used green. Not that any of those rules apply anymore.

On one hand you can blame Sabine that she gave the map but ... Ahsoka lost her fight with Baylan, what Sabine could do:
1. Shoot the map and die, don't see Ezra.
2. Trust Baylan, survive and see Ezra.
Also we all saw love in Anakin's face. Luke really saved him.
Or 3. Blast a missile in Baylan's face, and take advantage of his disorientation to use her jet pack which she didn't bring to fly off back to Huyang
ahsoka said it herself she trained sabine not to be a jedi she trained her to be herself a better version of her
Melissa, if there WAS to be a story about Baylan in "Tales of the Jedi", they'd obviously have to recast the role, and the new actor wouldn't be as great as Ray was. Also, Baylan was using Qui-Gon's fighting stance. AND this week's episode (at the time I've posted this comment) is getting a limited theatrical release because of the reaction to last week's. I bet those ten theaters will be sold out within seconds. Also, curse that Moff Gideon! If he hadn't purged Mandalore, Sabine's Mandalorian family would still be alive! Edit: Ahsoka can't be dead. We still have four episodes left. She must've passed through a portal leading to the World Between Worlds while she was unconscious. UGH!!! Tomorrow can't come sooner! We need the conversation like *NOW!!!*

Love this reaction! This was a great episode, as well. Honestly, one of the best media I've seen of Star Wars in many years. I feel so terrible that we lost Ray Stevenson, because his acting as Baylan has been absolutely incredible. Just his presence is something to take notice of. The character has quickly become my favorite character in the show entirely.
I also think you're right. I think Ahsoka died, but because she didn't die in her proper time line, it took her to the WbW. Rosario has said that her and Filoni have spoken quite a bit about Gandalf, and Filoni himself has drawn Gandalf with Ahsoka (I'm sure you can find it on google). So I'm assuming we'll see "Ahsoka the White" by the time this show is over.
No way will Filoni kill Ahsoka hakf way through season 1. I think Anakin pulled her into the WBW

Something BIG is going to happen in episode 5 and Filoni is directing. Its going to be a pivotal episode for many reasons.

Ahsoka seemed to be giving into her anger in the fight against Balen possibly on the verge of falling to the dark side, if this is Vader i wonder if he will try to push her to fall and her test is not to give in.
Shin and Baylon have orange sabers with non white cores because they are not fully darkside. They lean heavily that way but not enough for a red blade. Slightly similar to Mace Windu wielding a purple saber. He has some flashes of leaning away from the jedi at times, hence not a full blue saber. Dave Filoni talked about this recently.
Everyone is pointing out Hera’s face structure and makeup. So far I’ve seen no one comment on the most obvious change to live action. Hera on Rebels was a very thin, very petite character. Her live action counterpart has a very juicy booty. I’m not mad about it, and I am sure Ewan McGregor doesn’t mind it either. But, it is a drastic change from the animated character’s body type.

Why did Hera take Jacen into a potential war zone? Let's see, she violated orders, and took 5 X-wing pilots along. She may be an admiral, but there's a chance her actions would force her to run from arrest. If she has to run, she wants him already at her side, not at the mercy of her political enemies if she could no longer return. Besides, he is Specter 7.

My theory is the only reason Ahsoka can see Anakin is due to her connection to the daughter and Anakin being the chosen one assuming it is Anakin. While yes I’m happy Anakin is back and this his first official meeting with Ahsoka since Malachor having the Vader theme play is ominous like maybe its not Anakin but the son in his form or some other agent of the dark side.
the vader theme should mean that it's him, anakin has never had his own theme in the films

She isn't dead, but she is in purgatory. Morai or perhaps Force Ghost Anakin brought her there. She needs to be reborn to become Ahsoka The White.
She's dead in the same way that Gandalf was. Or at least that's my head canon until we find out more lol.

1:25 sabine isnt as potentially dangerous as grogu shes not only the easier student choice but the most less scary shes mandalorian so she kills for a reason she has attachments to ezra but her attachments wont turn her evil grogu on the other hand is better off with dinn to learn that like "kill badguys but dont get all evil" training grogu is damgerous other way around imagine being the person who created a evil yoda the whole universe would be screwed also Grogu is going to have like 5/6 jedi masters because of his aging by time he is "quote on quote a teenager" hed probably older and wiser then everyone on the new council except Gunji but hed be super immature so ya any Jedi who survived order 66 would prob never train grogu only reason luke tried is because he dont know better but Sabine becomin a jedi and going back to mandalore she would be a good teacher for him

Hayden Christensen has been announced on the cast list for this series for the last 2 years idk why every youtube channel reactor is acting like they called this... when all knew he was going to show up and we all knew they going to show the world between worlds thats why Thrawn and Ezra are apart of the series... all these reactors acting like they knew something nobody else did lol
