Have 6 scx24s. Newest being the gladiator when it came out. All on stock motors with zero issues and they've all been upgraded with brass. I get what you’re saying. My problem is that with 1/24 you can build a more interesting course indoors. With the 1/18 to scale up the course it’s just going to be so much space consumed to keep it as interesting. Now if we’re going outside. I don’t know why you wouldn’t just wanna go 1/10. My only rebuttal to what you said is with what you get with some other makes stock. Just because with this hobby. Who is leaving their rigs stock? No matter how good it is out of the box. We always want a little more. Now what you said about doing a full parts build. That’s kinda spot on. Great vid, thanks for the content.
Thank you very much i have always loved the small rigs and some of the scx24s look really cool with the stock bodies its that servo and motor if they just improved those two things it would be great i really appreciate your feedback hope you have a wonderful day
Im pretty biased to axial. I just picked up a power wagon. I drove it stock for about 5 minutes in the car on the way home (i made my girlfriend drive because, yes, im a child with access to adult money at the end of the day) and immediately started putting on the aftermarket parts i had pre-ordered links, servo, motor, wheels/tires, knuckles, transmission. But that's because after being in the hobby for 15 years and knowing what axial sets you up for, i know immediately what i wanted to go for performance wise and i put the old parts in my bin and am just having fun with the new rig.
I am the same been in the hobby forever started racing 2wd stadium trucks in the late 90s and have been down the rc rabbit hole ever since lol planes car trucks crawlers boats i love it all i am just wanting Axial to give it's customers a bit better electronics for the price I like reviewing the rtr stuff it's time for the scx24 ii like the progression of the scx10 line
Not in my opinion. Axial is a toy store when it comes to SCX24 and AX24. The AX1 is the last SCX24 I bought. It didn't end the SCX24 type builds it just took Axial out of the SCX24 builds. To be fair Traxxas has no part on any of my TRX4M type builds too. FCX24 is dead to me and has been since the 1/24 PowerWagon but that is only because of the company service. The product is very good but with the lying, stealing, scamming, and ignoring of problems (the service) I will not support them. I did buy the 1/10 Atlas on the fathers day sale a couple of years ago because it was suppose to come with the 1/24 6x6 Atlas which they canceled and refunded $65. The 1/24 6x6 Atlas was selling for $111.99 at the time. I accepted the scam and kept the 1/10 Atlas but it ended my support for FMS for the rest of my life. I like my Axial SCX10 Pro but SCX24 is dead to me as well. At this point the name SCX24 RTR means toys and the only hobby grade comes from third parties.
I do like them and that's why I'm upset they don't give us better servo and motor they have not upgraded since the first release several years ago when upgraded to better parts they are awesome little rigs but for the price better electronics would be great
Hello brother, I love your videos and you are 100% right, some of the companies need to step their game up a whole lot.i got out of the hobby in 2000 , and came back in 2020 and everything has changed leaps and bounds. I love it but manufactures need to step up. Thank you for the video brother.!
They pay for licensing for the falken wildpeaks and the body's. It's 150 dollars, what's to be expected for that price? A fully kitted out 24? Every model gets modified in some way, none stay stock unless they sit on shelf's.
I expect them to put at least as good of a motor and servo as their competition its not a unreasonable expectation I have bought every release since the deadbolt it should get updated just like the scx10,i,ii and iii
The point of buying 1/24 crawlers is to modify them, I'd rather replace cheap ineffective parts with big upgrades then remove pretty decent parts with slight upgrades on a more expensive brand (Traxxas)
Great video Brent, everything you said was spot on! The only SCX24 I have that's still running the stock motor and servo is the Betty because I want to keep it OG. All the other SCX24's that I have had the servos and motors upgraded although they still run the stock ESC/Rec combo. The last mini crawler I got was the FCX24 Blazer from FMS and with a quick body change to a lighter Lexan it does just as well as my modded Axial while still running the stock equipment! Not sure if Axial can keep up with the competition without drastically raising the price.
Big watch and full like from me man! Couldn't agree more with all of your points. I still love my scx24s but I think Im done buying new ones unless there on sale for like 60$ or somthing. Also agree with what you said about Traxxas. I have been a huge fan for almost 30 years and one of the biggest reasons is the part support, wish other companies would get on board with that. I troll axial quite a bit mostly because I dont like horizion. They need to see this video!
While I agree Axial needs to bring the scx update... to be fair you're comparing different scales other then the Fcx. It's easier to put those bigger electronics in a larger platform.
True but the after market upgrades fit just fine so I imagine the factory could give us a little better servo and motor im not expecting miracles just a bit up updates to make them fun again thank you for commenting and watching very much appreciated
Just picked up my 5th scx24 and still loving the mini hobby section. With winter around the corner. These make great little past times. Thanks for the content! Cheers!
That is the whole point of them. You start with a platform that isn't great and slowly modify it into something great. Parts are cheaper, and you see how every part affects performance along the way. If you are just looking for the end result, something like traxxas is a better bet for you.
I love the look and concept of the Atlas 6x6, but want to upgrade it. Get it more "up to date" so to speak. I wish Hobby Plus made a Arktos type platform without the extra flatbed and winch setup. I love my CR18 trail hunter evo, I wish they made a 6x6 version of that. I thought about what it would take to convert my atlas 6x6 to run the bigger motor, 2-speed transmission, hobby plus portals (prefer them over fms portals). Would really love to figure out how to build a chassis that properly fits the fms power wagon hardbody onto all that too, replace the cheap looking lexan atlas body. If anyone has any ideas or advice, let me know! It will be much appreciated
@@AdventureTimeRC I thought about that, I was hoping to avoid buying a whole new r/c to build this project I have in mind... but it is starting to look like the easiest solution. Still wouldn't want to let everything leftover from the atlas go to waste... I have also wanted to build a half-track. Maybe I could use the Arktos flatbed as a base for a cargo bed with a soft top cover. find a somewhat functional quality toy grade military truck for the cab and tank for the tracks. Would be a fun project to get creative with. I wonder if the fms or hobbyplus transmission mount for the 2 speed trans and motor could work on the atlas frame Wish I had a 3d printer, that would make things a lot easier lol.
This is a great video. Though I’m not a big fan of the small crawlers, I do have a couple and I’m considering building an all Injora custom TRX4m with their buggy chassis. Never had a scx24 but i do really like that Lexus body.
The body will be sold separately. Over priced of course but it won't come with a bunch of garbage attached. Axial must be taken for a ride on their licenses fees to have this little quality at this price.
Hell ya it is. Gives you something to play with during winter (if ya live in a 4 season climet). I just got the orange C10. Doesent get any better! Orange lexan. I dont care for plastic bodies. Can you say Roll over rover?
Also i wish the SCX24 was an SCX18 and all the aftermarket parts. Easier to work on. If you break a screw which easily happens with those M1,4s often you have to throw the part away, i bought 200 piece packs of screws because no matter how careful you are, using them more than once when doing mods easily ruins the hex. Also easier if you have to make or modify a part, sawing, filing, very often impossible or very hard on 24 size. All of that in 1/18 would be awesome.
Right on the money. I picked up a trx4m and swapped out all the electronics motor and trans gears, took a fraction of the time compared to doing it on an SCX24.
I have 2 RTRs that l bought new. One is a SCX and one FCX. I'm more into tinkering than driving. Probably will never buy another RTR. Too much gets thrown out on the SCX. The FCX is actually pretty tough. Only thing to go out on it were the diff gears.
The only Axial I bought is a B-17 Betty. I was given a SCX24 Jeep (my niece dumped her bf and he left it behind) I hardly use them as I just usually run my 1/10th crawler. Lots of great points in this video, thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.
I have just the Deadbolt, not a fan at all. For me the best value I have used is FMS and the TRX4m dearer but I like it. The upgrade cost a good 1/10th for the price. The assent 18 a real bargain, not in the UK but did not know what name they are under. FTX now does a Competition low profile brushless crawler for £169.
Hell, most of my SCX24 builds are over the 500 mark. People say they are cheaper than 1/10s… well, I don’t see that. I have some that are about equal in cost. This hobby can do that easily if you let yourself. But you can build in the cheap as well of course.
I wanted to get a 1/10 but realized 1/10s at the levels of my SCX24 builds don't cost 500 but 3000, look at Exo and Dluxfab, the equivalent of a Hardpark or Mazz Chassis starts at 2 K. And you don't buy transmissions for 20 Bucks and a set of Axles for 100 or draw and print a custom chassis for almost nothing.
I prefer the 18th scale one over the 24t5h scale ones now. They are more capable outdoors and can run the areas I do with the 10th scale rigs. The 24th scales are fun for indoors mostly. The FMS 24th scale truck I have I do prefer a lot more than the SCX24. I just slapped brass wheels on it and it does great! I think the mini crawler fad is dying down, not dying out yet but it has certainly slowed down a lot. I think they can do little better to keep it alive but like you said, doing the traxxas body swap over and over is not going to keep it going.
Thank you Addam the long wheel base scx24 like the power wagon and Gladiator are about the same size as the trx4m they are my favorite of the scx24s i love small rigs they have been including 24 courses at crawling events been pretty fun but Axial really needs to step it up the ascent 18 is probably the best for the money I think
I love the SCX24 for the reason it’s unchanged. Keeping parts compatibility across all models is smart. Look at the aftermarket, it’s just great. Look at the innovation the platform is driving in the micro world…(LGRP, HardPark, Mofo RC) All RTRs have complaining points. SCX24 is no different. I’m in the camp of liking companies staying with a platform for a long time. That says something.
Is he? He seems to prefer the bigger scale and hardware like I do. That is comparison I guess but what is wrong with that? We are not comparing a orange pie and a jar of apple marmalade to an apple pie and a jar of orange marmalade.
I got into mini crawling because if the Ascent 18. Best value for money in my opinion. I don't need licensed bodies and the truck just goes. Like you said, o ly upgraded things because I wanted to, nit because I had to. The price of the Axial stuff should be $80 for what you get, and then have to upgrade.
I am a fms fan, love everything about them. I picked up hobby plus cr18p rock van great out for the box. Did not buy a traxxas trx4m, but I did build one from injora parts and meus racing. I just picked up those scx24 lexus gx470 and yes it's a great looking rig, but comparing it to fms, and "trx4m" the Axial is not a great performer right out fo the box. I will be upgrading it with injora motor and transmission, steering servo and steering links, wheel and tires. Hope this makes it a better contender.
Couldn't agree more axial need to up there game i haven't bought a 24 for a long time for memory the c10 cost me stock $289.00 personally i think 18s took over 24's need the skills of a jeweller to work on, new brands are not just being humoured in the hobby they're competing and taking over traxxas are stupid expensive but you get what you pay for only dissapointment is the steering servo and there PR department acting like a Halloween movie ..... although 10th scale cross rc are making some impressive rigs ..... hopefully axial see things like this and realise customers are spending there money elsewhere and start competing again 👊
Your video couldn't come sooner. I've never had a crawler, and I'm still unsure what to get. Between this, the Redcat Ascent, the FCX24..it's hard to choose.
Sadly all you said's true. They better do some innovations on the next car or the trend's dead. And for the afer-market guys. I'm still waiting on AX parts. Many jumped on the 4M train and forget that the AX needs other parts than the SCX.
I used scx parts on my AX . Mofo deadbolt rear trailing arms , C10 high clearance links in front , 48mm rear shocks , 43mm front shocks , 050 motor , 14% front overdrive transmission , 30% underdrive gears front and rear . Spent some money to get it to perform and it performs well.
I don't buy any rtr rc. I take all the electronics out, upgrade wheels and tires, upgrade axles, custom chassis, upgrade shocks, I had 13 scx24 's at one time. I'm down to 5 now and they are all one off custom builds.
I enjoy reviewing but building is way more fun and much better performance i am getting ready to strip the older ones down and do something different with them
I thought they were cool but after having a few mini crawlers I got bored of them may as well just bring a 1/10 scale in my opinion.. But I think the scx 24 is a great little crawler and everyone followed and got better minis that came out afterword's but I still think the scx 24 is king for true 1/24 scale size.
Less than a year into my second childhood with RCs...LOL 😂😅 (EAZYRC Brushless 1/18 Chevrolet Colorado 4X4 Offroad (Blue) & FMS 1:24 FCX24 Chevrolet K5 BLAZER PRO RTR 18th Anniversary Brushless Edition) Just ordered me a SCX24 C10 in Silver. Been wathcing alot of MODS for this truck/platform. And I think I have it all figured out (MOSTLY), what i want to do. I'm going for a CRAWLER/BASHER, so this is what I'm thinking....Your input/advise would be GREATLY appreciated!!!!!! I would also like your input/advise as to what order I should do these in, kepping in mind I'm not going to be able (most likely) to do them all at once. So I can still play around with my truck as I'm building it out, and obviously I would like to avoid, if at all possible, buying and installing something only to remove it and replace it later. I just built my own crawlers now honestly. I can’t stand the stock setup they are using still. I’m thinking on picking up a fcx24m tho. Iv heard lots of good things about it stock! But yeah all my scx24 now are all custom builds
All mine end up being rebuilt at some point lol just ordered a injora chassis to convert another one over i just think it should have as nice motors and servos as the competition
By this point i just don't understand axial, keep releasing the same old crap , they really made waves when these first came out but now they are just making a little ripple in a mud puddle, everyone else is just miles ahead of them I also have a pile of them but the last half i just don't buy them from axial and just buy parts and build them as i want , and same it will be for the lexus , already have the car built and i am just waiting till i can buy the body Totally agree with everything you said in this video except the trx4m part because they are the same as axial , we buy them to throw everything out 😂😂
To be honest I think fms has a large hold on the mini scale crawlers. After market supports good, they had the only stock speed, portal axles, amazing scale bodies, beadlocks wheels, bearings all throughout and steel gears.
Yes. The gladiator and the power wagon have a longer wheelbase, the Lexus has a shorter, and the rest are the same, except that the skid is further forwards on the deadbolt and b17 but the wheelbase is the same the suspension links and drive shaft are just slightly shorter up front and longer in back. Sorry scx24 nerd here... this guy is kinda hard on them even stock they are a blast but he clearly has expensive tastes and axial doesn't fill that for him...
I love the platform because of the many aftermarket parts available (most really affordable) but agree that the stock is useless other than a toy for a child and i think it is too fragile for that there would be better options. I wonder why Axial does not but out anything new but one ugly Hardbody version after the other, wonder who is going to buy those. I spent a few K on the platform but no Axial parts in them. I stayed away from Traxxas or Redcat (not available in Europe), bought one Hobby Plus T-Hunter but realized almost no aftermarket parts and even hard to get spare parts so i stay with the SCX24 platform.
I feel like the whole point of the scx24 is how upgradeable they are and the community behind them. You seriously can't expect a pro grade rig for $100-$120. Most of the upgrades ive seen for these are 30 bucks tops. Again, the point of the scx24 is to give you a blank slate to bulild something unique
I never said a pro rig i said better servo and motor for 160 is a fair request and while many people do upgrade self included i have many friends and several are seniors that just want a rtr to be a rtr fortunately for those of us that want to build can do it all with injora parts or other companies no need to even buy a rtr this video is specifically for the ones that just want to buy something and drive it thank you for your time comment and opinion its really appreciated have a wonderful weekend my friend
I just don’t understand why people continue to compare oranges to apples. Seriously? You are trying to get your point across by comparing a 1:24 scale to a 1:18 scale? Let’s get real. Here’s a novel idea, how about comparing the SCX24 to another 1:24 scale rig? Bet you can’t.
None of the scales are right the long base scx24 is the same as the trx4m and longer than the fms you can't compare by the scale on the box example the utb18 is huge i have 1/10 scale tires on it and the rc4wd tf2 24 is probably the closest to 24 scale much smaller than a Axial so it all comes down to is it a micro crawler and what's under the hood so to sak for better electronics is not a unreasonable request for the price of the vehicle
Redcat 1/18 is a damn fine truck and at $99 I think it’s the best bang for the buck. I’m so done with the scx24’s, like you said the motor the servo just kill it, axial should’ve never used them in the first place and they are still running them:(
I understand you’re comparing the price and what you get but you can’t really compare a 124 scale to a 1/18 the mother is always gonna be bigger. The server is always gonna be bigger. I don’t know where you’re buying me Traxxas for M for $150 but let me know cause they’re like 180+
Your looking at High Lift prices the bronco and Defender are 159.99 at amain i got mine first release 149.99 at hobby town scale is always tricky no body gets it exactly right the rc4wd tf2 24 thing is probably the closest to 1/24 but it's terrible i sold mine looks good but no proformance I compare the different scales because the power wagon and Gladiator are the same wheel base as my trx4ms at least very close i share tires and wheels between them i just wish Axial would give us a better servo and motor for the price I still love messing with 24s thanks for watching and commenting my friend
I got 2 stock scx24 Bronco ESCs and they keep dying. Had no issues for a month then first one died. got a new stock one cause i didnt want to but a new radio and the second one died same day. What is happening. I got the 66T Injora motor
I just got an Axial ax24, it’s kind of gimmicky. 4 wheel steer is cool but capability isn’t there and I’m not wasting money on this one, it can be what it is. Trx4m is much better, sweet spot as far as size goes. 1/24 is too small in my opinion.
You can buy a 1/10 for about the money it would take to bring the AX24 out of toy grade. with two good strong steering axles, Two strong servos (e-max is not going to do) brass everywhere including wheels to fight the electronics being stacked into a tall tower, and a good motor that would require a good transmission. I did this to mine before salvaging some good stuff I put on it, and gave it away for free.
@ yeah I’ve told people the same , but alot of guys like to dig their heels in to defend their decision on these things. Or call you a fanboy , because that’s the only defence they seem to have these days. Ax24 I bought used and is my first and last 1/24 scale. My 6 year old has fun with it , so that’s something
I have an axial scx24 gladiator and the only stick part left is the body. And FMS fc80 and k5 pro. K5 pro 140$ and brushless. Great piece of kit. Plus the bodies are really nice. And 8 other minis based on scx24 stuff. I enjoy building them. But I won’t buy another scx24 from axial at this point. I do not like the traxxas minis.
Thank you for the comment I like building custom rigs but I also like to review rtr stuff see just to check it out i like most brands for minis haven't had much luck with panda hobby probably won't buy any more of those
I've never had one, and never will all my Riggs are 100% after market. There are so many awesome products out there. Why would you buy a AXIAL they are so far behind what the rc community is doing for this platform .
I agree the copper one is all aftermarket and I have a couple others in build state i just enjoy reviewing new release 24s for some reason I keep thinking Axial will change
It's a rebadged losi micro crawler/trail trekker. The TrX4m is superior out of the box. I like to build as well. That's the saving grace of the scx. Another thing is the steering radius. They are due for a major revision. I do, however, like the lexus and may buy one. Locally parts/availability of the other brands just isn't as good or is alltogether non-existent.
I think your a little too hard on the scx24s. I dare say that out of the box they can do everything a real stock 4x4 would be able to do. And if left stock they hold up really well (yes servo is weak but if stock it will still work for while) I have heard of redcats breaking right out of the box... besides we are all going to take our rigs in a different direction so who cares if they all need up grades?! I want a jeep on mickey thompsons.... so that means traxxas, redcat, fms, are all out...(unless you buy aftermarket bodies) but i can make an scx24 what i want.
I don't think better servo and motor would put Axial out any and would preform out of box much better making a better product It's just my opinion were owed a upgrade it's over due thank you for commenting I appreciate your input
@@AdventureTimeRC one way to look at it. How long did it take other companies to catch up to axial after they released the scx24? You said for a long time they were the only ones in the game. This year a lot of competition showed up so now, logically, it would be time for them to upgrade and fight back. They have started making their own brass steering knuckles maybe we'll get a modle that comes with them on it! (And a servo...)
I'm new to the hobby. I purchased an Axial SCX24 then gave it to my kid. Why? It sucks! My kid even thinks it sucks. I have no nostalgia for the brand. Horizon Hobby is a mega-player, and they are obviously milking the hobbyist market. I built two SCX24-based all-custom trucks that I like okay, but the layout and design is fundamentally problematic. I've heard people do not like Traxxas, but as a new guy I have no reason to hate them. I feel ripped off by Horizon Hobby/Axial, so if I feel any derision toward any brand it is them. Their trucks aren't even worth $50. I won't be buying anything else from Axial, and will think carefully before grabbing anything owned by Horizon.
Horizon hobbies is really hit and miss even when you get a cool new vehicle the parts aren't available for months I don't blame you for being frustrated with them
The redcat accent 1/18 isn’t bad at all, does need metal driveshafts and links imo but other than that it’s pretty awesome, what the Scx24 should’ve been
@@royrodgers3296, I got my first A18 a couple weeks ago. It seems like it needs new links, geared down transmission, wheels, tires, steering link, drive shafts, overdrive/underdrive gears, brass portal covers for the front, repositioned battery (forward), and better body clips/magnets/rear hinge.
@@Usul yeah I think I mentioned that about the links and driveshafts but everything else you mentioned is all dependent on the driver. The point you seemed to have missed that box stock it beats the Scx24 hands down and that is a fact that can’t be argued. TTFN
This cracks me up. Scx24 is the only real 24th scale. Stop comparing to 18th. The real fcx24 like land-rovers with the small scale bodys are the only one you should compare too. I have the brushless fcx24 k5 and it is way good but let's be real its 18th
I'm comparing the electronics which fit the "only true scale " 1/24 it's time for some updates like the scx10 i ii and iii thays all I'm saying thanks for watching and commenting much appreciated
They are all money pits. I have all of them. You have to put money into each one of them to get them to do what you want them to do, but they are all fun.
Sell them and replace with traxxas. The ax chassis rocks for rock crawling. Yes i modded it, but you did on all you scx 24's. You gunna dump the same cash into traxxas stuf.
Lovely Axial Scx24 Still Worth Buying
The cost of the trademark body is definitely a significant factor. I am glad that I purchased my two green scx24 c10 trucks. Thanks for the video
Thank you for watching
I've still got my SCX24 Deadbolt which I've lightly modded and the original servo is still going strong! I love that RC 😍
My original deadbolt got turned into a injora cage crawler lol thanks for watching my friend
@@AdventureTimeRC 😀👍🏼👍🏼
That's crazy. I kid you not my dead bolt servo lasted less than 45 seconds on flat ground lol.

I just started with scx24, i think its awesome.
Why have multiple rigs if you dont like them?
Question 🙋♂️: if you had a public micro crawler track, what kind of RTR fleet rental with no or minimal upgrades would you use? Ty sir
The ascent 18 i am most impressed buy it box stock solid little truck thank you for watching
@ thank you again!
Where in the video do you answer the question of your video title?
Yup I’m getting another one!!
This is a killer way to get o to crawling.
But I never run mine but if you have indoor only can make some amazing rigs!
I run them outside i have found some cool spots for small stuff and I can fit a bunch in my backpack lol
My deadbolt got turned into a b-17 betty, and now is being turned into a monster truck looking thing
Cheers!
I love my mini crawlers they really do provide lots of fun
That is the whole point of them. You start with a platform that isn't great and slowly modify it into something great. Parts are cheaper, and you see how every part affects performance along the way. If you are just looking for the end result, something like traxxas is a better bet for you.
My wife likes small scale and keeps them stock.
We got rid of our 1/24 stuff, all 1/18 now. I just purchased the New Hobby Plus/Furitek in red Rushmore rig...
There are so many options for mini crawlers i have the furitek Torpedo in the ascent 18 really smooth 😎
Thanks!!
Hello there, aer you based in the UK?
You could get a arktos movie the winch to the front and put the atlas body and cage in it
@@AdventureTimeRC I thought about that, I was hoping to avoid buying a whole new r/c to build this project I have in mind... but it is starting to look like the easiest solution.
@GRAFFREVIEWS so many ideas i can say I have owned both and the arktos is really good I enjoy driving it
The atlas body only needs a paint job and a few scale accessories and it will look great , out of the box does look cheap 😂
Nice comparisons.
Thank you very much brother
I just built a meus MB18 trx4m it is so cool I'll keep messing with my 24s but won't be buying any more rtrs unless things change
🤘
I have snapped several screws myself or stripped them they definitely don't hold up well
Right on the money. I picked up a trx4m and swapped out all the electronics motor and trans gears, took a fraction of the time compared to doing it on an SCX24.
@aj508746 i just did a trx4m build to
I have 2 RTRs that l bought new. One is a SCX and one FCX. I'm more into tinkering than driving. Probably will never buy another RTR. Too much gets thrown out on the SCX. The FCX is actually pretty tough. Only thing to go out on it were the diff gears.
The tinkering is the best I enjoy reviewing the scx24 models but I really would enjoy so updated power train and steering out of the box
FCX24M for $99. I'm loving the scale look and two speed.
The Fcx24 is a great rig
The only Axial I bought is a B-17 Betty. I was given a SCX24 Jeep (my niece dumped her bf and he left it behind) I hardly use them as I just usually run my 1/10th crawler. Lots of great points in this video, thanks for sharing and keep up the great work.
I enjoy reviewing them but they really haven't been fun to review lately nothing changes
I agree it's easy to spend the same amount on the little ones the only thing you save is space
@@AdventureTimeRC so true! 😂 Cheers!
Not sure why but I thought they would be easier to upgrade an swap parts around 🤔 pretty much the same stuff to learn as the bigger ones 👍🏁
I love the SCX24 for the reason it’s unchanged. Keeping parts compatibility across all models is smart. Look at the aftermarket, it’s just great. Look at the innovation the platform is driving in the micro world…(LGRP, HardPark, Mofo RC)
All RTRs have complaining points. SCX24 is no different.
I’m in the camp of liking companies staying with a platform for a long time. That says something.
The main platform can stay the same and upgrade the components a better motor and servo would be nice
You are comparing apples and oranges. 1/24 to 1/18.
Is he? He seems to prefer the bigger scale and hardware like I do. That is comparison I guess but what is wrong with that? We are not comparing a orange pie and a jar of apple marmalade to an apple pie and a jar of orange marmalade.
@😋😛😁❤️💯shockman8014
what company do you recommend for 200 dollar range
The Redcat Ascent 18 with 200 you could get better wheels and tires and the truck
I dont know the difference between name license ones or what kind or car truck it is as long as it looks an drives cool I love it 👍
I am a fms fan, love everything about them.
Scx24 got me into crawling, i recommend the ascent 18 it is great stock.
The ascent 18 is really great love them
@@AdventureTimeRC I have the EVO PRO, an amazing rig...
After market is endless with the scx24. Other platforms not so much lol
That is correct so much you can build your ideal rig from just parts
Thank you very much the Redcat Ascent has been a great crawler for me
Sadly all you said's true.
@kevincasey6876 thanks for the tip. I did this compromise for the motor and the servos. But for the linkages I wanted excact fitting parts.
@@RCBirdsgets confusing fast for me trying to get all the parts to work together. But the few times it worked made me want to keep trying 👍
I don't buy any rtr rc. I take all the electronics out, upgrade wheels and tires, upgrade axles, custom chassis, upgrade shocks, I had 13 scx24 's at one time. I'm down to 5 now and they are all one off custom builds.
I enjoy reviewing but building is way more fun and much better performance i am getting ready to strip the older ones down and do something different with them
Question, are they waterproof?
lol no, I just fried my esc playing in the water
No not really the waterproofing is not very good
I thought they were cool but after having a few mini crawlers I got bored of them may as well just bring a 1/10 scale in my opinion.. But I think the scx 24 is a great little crawler and everyone followed and got better minis that came out afterword's but I still think the scx 24 is king for true 1/24 scale size.
👋
Less than a year into my second childhood with RCs...LOL 😂😅 (EAZYRC Brushless 1/18 Chevrolet Colorado 4X4 Offroad (Blue) & FMS 1:24 FCX24 Chevrolet K5 BLAZER PRO RTR 18th Anniversary Brushless Edition)
Just ordered me a SCX24 C10 in Silver.

Thank you Carlos
👋😁
Well I jumped back into RCs and got a crawler. I got the FMS K-5.
Love the 2 speed and it's a little bigger.
I think fms I crushing them. Scx24s have a great aftermarket, but they suck out of the box. Fxc24s are decent out of the box.
Exactly I just wish the motor and servo were better
I just built my own crawlers now honestly. I can’t stand the stock setup they are using still.
I’m thinking on picking up a fcx24m tho. Iv heard lots of good things about it stock!
But yeah all my scx24 now are all custom builds
All mine end up being rebuilt at some point lol just ordered a injora chassis to convert another one over i just think it should have as nice motors and servos as the competition
Good video
Thanks for watching!
By this point i just don't understand axial, keep releasing the same old crap , they really made waves when these first came out but now they are just making a little ripple in a mud puddle, everyone else is just miles ahead of them
I also have a pile of them but the last half i just don't buy them from axial and just buy parts and build them as i want , and same it will be for the lexus , already have the car built and i am just waiting till i can buy the body
Totally agree with everything you said in this video except the trx4m part because they are the same as axial , we buy them to throw everything out 😂😂
Thank you very much i appreciate the great feedback this was a great comment
👍
To be honest I think fms has a large hold on the mini scale crawlers. After market supports good, they had the only stock speed, portal axles, amazing scale bodies, beadlocks wheels, bearings all throughout and steel gears.
Also they are pretty cheap.
Does the jeep wrangler have the same wheel base as the ford bronco
Replaced every motor no longer buying scx24 got a few trx4m s
I love the platform because of the many aftermarket parts available (most really affordable) but agree that the stock is useless other than a toy for a child and i think it is too fragile for that there would be better options. I wonder why Axial does not but out anything new but one ugly Hardbody version after the other, wonder who is going to buy those. I spent a few K on the platform but no Axial parts in them. I stayed away from Traxxas or Redcat (not available in Europe), bought one Hobby Plus T-Hunter but realized almost no aftermarket parts and even hard to get spare parts so i stay with the SCX24 platform.
Thank you very much i just want the rtr to be competitive out of thebbox compared to other brands they are definitely behind
💯🤸♀️♥️👋
I’m so done with the scx24’s, like you said the motor the servo just kill it, axial should’ve never used them in the first place and they are still running them:(
Yeah the Redcat is great value for money they really make a capable crawler for cheap can't beat it
I love my red cat. Out of the box great crawler.
@shockman80😮👍❤️14
Thank you for the comment I like building custom rigs but I also like to review rtr stuff see just to check it out i like most brands for minis haven't had much luck with panda hobby probably won't buy any more of those
cool new look, RC with great adventure, always good videos bro👍👍😃
Thank you brother
Nah we buy 1/24 to build it so i still think scx24 is still the best platform
Scratch build for the win
@@AdventureTimeRC yeah just an eco power metal servo on the front axle would indeed make a big difference.
@Old_Paths_Channel thats all I'm asking for i love the platform and keep buying them
@@AdventureTimeRC one way to look at it. (And a servo...)
where is the redcat ascent 18 bro way better than all that junk
Lol at the end of the video
Horizon hobbies is really hit and miss even when you get a cool new vehicle the parts aren't available for months I don't blame you for being frustrated with them
It’s why I stick to 1/10 or bigger
3:05 blasphemy. 😂😂😂
