Totally agree I have 2 of all of them and people forget these are baby trail rigs. I drive 1 set all stock and love the m. They all have their ups and downs stock. And modified the deadbolt hands down is the best crawler. But my 2nd set has almost all the same upgrades but again besides my dB they are all trail.
Hi dude, just want to firstly thank You for commenting on a few of our sons videos and helping support him! He loves making videos and watching Yours! He's just bought his first crawler with his own money which he's already done a video on! We love the indoor crawler course You have! All the best from all of us at CHARLIES CARS!
I have just picked up my third scx24, the Bronco. I also have the Gladiator and c10. All are fun and your ability to modify is nearly limitless. These guys are fantastic for beginner to seasoned pro.
Love this vid!!! So my son and I went to our first comp crawl tonight, took our stock Deadbolts that only have a nickel and dime on each servo. (Just under 8g) and they actually did real well. One dude with his Jeep asked how many mods. He was surprised there were none other than the servo weight. I’m Surprised the Deadbolts not getting much love here! Lol Only plan servo upgrade, wheels & tires to stay on the cheap and I think they will hang tough. But I love them all! would love to see this comparison with bone stock trucks. Again great vid!!! Really looking forward to your adventures with these little beasties! Gladly subbed!
Great comparison! The gladiator is probably my favorite. Added some wheel weights, aluminum steering links and some tires that have more grip it’s literally a CRAWLER! but the deadbolt is a lot of fun also upgraded
Rn I'm looking for new wheels and shocks. Most of the rocky areas at my local park are really hard to do a lot with bc I can't get up then without bottoming out. Oh right, I have 9mm brass weights, that's why I'm looking for new wheels.
I have a modified Betty and C10 myself. I went with lifted suspension on the Betty so get rid of the rubbing issue while making it look like an absolute monster at the same. It really fixes all the issues and then its hard to beat. Try some foam-less RC4WD tires. At this tiny scale you don't need foams and taking them out makes a massive difference. The tires are so soft they stick to absolutely everything!
I just bought the gladiator.... The first two mods I did were shocks, and shock relocation.... The added ride height and HR shocks definitely helped.... Wheels and tires are next....
I agree right up to the last two, I only own two and its a pretty modified jeep and then a stock c10, now what takes the c10 ahead of my jeep is the stock tires and rims of the jeep. because of them being taller I can do more with the c10. I now have my new Scx6 so now no matter the temperature outside I just suit up and head out with it. Its on a whole new level of awesomeness and surprises me every time i go out.
Just picked up a c-10 from my LHS, and it’s a blast. Quickly became the kids favourite, next to the mini D12 we have. I’ve ordered some stamped steels 1.0 white wheels and some Rc4wd crawler tires to get some better traction.
For the gladiator, it was full stock, it is incredibly top heavy, id recommend taking that roof tent off. It helps with the center of mass a lot. And Im still learning how to make it better wheelbase wise.
Awesome comparison between all of these. Video couldn't of come at a better time. I'm sure you can tell from my Instagram iv been really having a great time with the SCX24's.

Great video! I did all the brass mods to my green deadbolt. It could probably keep up with the Bus. We also have a stock red Deadbolt which isn't bad since we put Patagonia tires on it. I like the Injora 3 piece wheels on my green deadbolt.
Love the green Deadbolt as I have the 1/10 scale SCX10 version 1 of the Deadbolt. I like the looks of "Moab Jack" wearing his cowboy hat in the new Gladiator! I want to get both the 24 scale Deadbolt and Gladiator and maybe start with some wheel weights as a first upgrade to both. Thank you for the nice demonstration of these fun rigs. Your scale crawling course is amazing!
Thank you for this video it was very helpful. I have a few 10 scales and I'm doing research about the 24 scales as gifts for my kids (and I) to drive indoor during the winter months.
I found that having too many mods actually ruins the experience, too many mods makes it too easy to dominate a course. More of a challenge on ANY course with a few simple mods to get the weight down low and stronger steering..
If you were buying a newer model and didn't want to spend much on upgrades, what direction would you take? Deadbolt? I know they have a new hard body coming out but I prefer performance before top heavy
Yeah this video isn’t what it’s titled, this should be titled “which of our cars that are setup differently and aren’t stock so it’s not an event comparison, will we like the most based on that and not them being stock and it being an even battle” lol
After having all styles now driving them stock and pretty much evenly upgraded...I have to say the gladiator is my fav with c10 second, followed by the jeep, deadbolt, then betty. High clearance links, new wheels and tires, weights, shocks, and the usual servo/motor replacement on all of them. High clearance is amazing on all...but probably the best on gladiator.
Who makes high clearance links for the gladiator? I didn't see any on Treals site but haven't really looked anywhere else. Still debating on which one I'm going to buy
I drove the gladiator last night and one of the shocks popped off. I wasnt even doing anything crazy. I popped it back on, and instantly started looking at upgrades. Haha.
