I use a trick i seen this other dude using where u get a 2 or 3 liter bottle full of water with the cap on and a lil pin hole on the side towards the lower half. Play around with the hole size (i used a hot tack to open it a little). When u get just a tiny lil spout put a piece of tape on it. Get your hole making area all blocked up how u need it, pull the tape and get r done! Also works great for glass jars. And with glass i always use the ball type diamond bits!
Hello cowboy, I have a question. What about putting larger, 14mm to 20mm holes into bigger crystals? Is it a case of getting a massive drill bit (lol)? Or something else? Struggling to search.
Thank you. I found those just wasn't sure they were the right ones. I got some from Amazon before and they didn't have the hollow core and crumbled when I was drilling agate slices with them.
Nope they don't make stuff like they used to but I like my rechargeable rotary tool and can use an inverter for charging when working out of camp. It's lighter also and easier to hold onto for me that is I have arthritis for years of work and had to get lighter tools. That's a nifty rotary tool you've got though! Thanks for the video.
@@QuartzCowboy yeah I got an old 20 something year old Dremel I like a lot too still works just as good as new. It's just easier to travel with the portable one and I'm on the road about 10 months out of the year either in-state and many times out of state. I've got my Subaru setup to work out of and camp out of, solar panels battery banks inverter etc heck I've even got a hand crank sewing machine to make little bags to put the jewelry in. We also take nature videos and photos. I work with a Dingo dog his name is Dog.
Great now connect a copper coil inside of the crystal 18 Gauge copper coil and connect this to a toy helicopter battery 🔋 and get the toy helicopter to run on battery powered crystals or solar powered crystals.
Dremel tool from 60s, what an amazing tool! 🧐
Yes and it still works like new
So let it work another 60 years @@QuartzCowboy
i was searching for a video to show me how with the tools I have and boom here you are!!! 🥰🥰🥰 thank you so much! 🙃🙃🙃
I hope it was helpful for you. Thank you for watching 🤠
Thank you so much for this video !! it helped me so much its simple and to the point i was looking for how to make holes into my stones 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
Thank you for sharing. Outstanding Tutorial.
Thank you, glad you enjoyed it
Thank you! I had no idea how to make holes and I am so glad to have seen you video. Im going to try this
You are so welcome!
Can you show us a video of you drilling hole straight through on the top of a crystal for a necklace?
Yes I could do a new video, why not🙌
Thank you for providing what it is you use and what its called :)
I'm glad you liked my video 🤠
Very informative, thanks for sharing! How many stones have broken on you doing this?
I have not broken any yet
@@QuartzCowboy I like those odds
@@cptchumknuckle Right, I have drilled over 50 stones without a failure. I think that is pretty good!
@@QuartzCowboy For sure! I'm thinking about getting a cheap mini drill press for my dremel, looks handy.
I need to drill a hole in a Swarovski crystal to make it a pendant. What suggestions do you have for me?
Still would like to know about drilling straight across recommendations
Long bit lots of water, maybe a vice

can you please tell me what kind of drill are you using? or a link ?
He said specifically it was a dremel from the 1960s that belonged to his grandfather. So, no link.
I dont have a dimond bit can i use another kind of bit to drill into a quartz crystal?
You can buy diamond bits at Harbor freight for a good price.

Best bet it to mark your diameter as best you can and shape as best you can
You can purchase bigger bits on Amazon that will fit your Dremel or you can also use a cordless drill
Hi! Thanks for the clear video. I'd like to know some commercial brands nowadays in Amazon for example. Thanks!
Dremil is what I use now, That was just a great tool from my grandfather that I used in the video.
Why did you flash the drill bits for a nano second? I didn’t see a link in video description either.
Joiner 3mm 1/8" inch coated diamond hole saw core drill bit
I think. I had to keep pressing the pause button between 40 and 42 seconds to get it.
💪😎👍 thanks for sharing 🤜🔥🤛those cut very fast how long do they last
I can drill about 3-4 holes per bit
Where's the link for the bits?

The hollow core are all I use.@@shantelb4192

Is it possible to drill a hole in selenite since selenite can’t get wet?
If you do drill it wear a mask for sure! selenite it is pretty soft and will drill.
Thank u🙏🏻🌸
You are very welcome 🤗
Thanks for sharing Wade, and then do you use epoxy ?
Yes I use E6000 jeweler epoxy. Thank you for watching.
@@QuartzCowboy is is possible to drill straight through both sides without cracking the stone? thanks for the feedback!

I gave your video a like but it was hard to see and I wish that it would have had you showing the hole off by putting a cord or something through it
SAFETY GLASSES!
Ragnar likes dab wands
Be honest. Have you ever drilled a hole straight into your finger? It looks a little unsafe.
He probably has at least nicked them before while doing this.
Iv nicked myself a couple of times but they aren't sharp tools so it doesn't cut into your skin. Just gnarly, fine rug burn
Know what else is bad for u? Gettin that jc penny ozone eater too close to that spigot lol
need focus adjustment
Are you hooking me up with a camera 😎
This diamond but won't even scratch my agate
Maybe your agate is a diamond!
@@QuartzCowboy I wish
I use diamond bits on agate. The bulk material is crazy tough, but if the contact area is small enough, it will drill.
Awesome so don't use my drill lol
Drill is hard to use because of the bulk. Once you start the hole with the dremel you can finish with the drill
@@QuartzCowboy I was meaning more my small drill press that I have. It's time for me to buy some new gear
@@kylesnow1961 drill slow, don't force it
