- It was Sunday morning and the kids hadn't done a lot so far in the summer holidays so I decide to take my step son Theo on his first sea fishing trip. The trip was supposed to inspire and excite but due to the lack of games controllers and headsets, it ended up boring instead. Not even a fish in on the first cast could hold the the calls of "when are we going" and even work was against me as received a text that needed me to go in to sort out an issue. So this is a very short session that could of been a good fishing trip if I had the time but it was what it was and its always nice to be by the sea whether its for 5 mins or a day.

I remember taking my 8 year old boy, Alex Carp Fishing Back in the 80's. We were saved by the fact that my son had his 'Horrible Histories' book with him . I seem to remember that was the Romans too. We caught fish 🐟 but nothing else could pull him away from his book. 😊. Thanks again Greg

What a great fish to catch with you you dad I fish there for 40 years with my grandad and dad and never had a Ray take him to deal pier for a trip he can drop line just over the edge and see what he can get he can hold on to.the line there

A few more trips with him and he might enjoy it, especially if it’s a fish on every cast session! I reckon he’d be quite entertained with catching mackerel on feathers 😀

It was a place I'd never fished before but it did look nice and felt like you could have a good comfortable session there👍
Good to see a nipper out and on the beach they do get bored so quickly these days my twins were a nightmare and would start a fight in mothercare !
Decent first fish for the lad to at least spark an interest well gone for taking him along

Hi greg you ok pal and theo, great stuff the young man caught first time, and a thorny aswell hopefully he iz now hooked now for the future generation. Ive got a grandson ov 5 nearly 6 and i'm going to try and keep him off the old screens iff i can hahahaha. My local beach and from spurn up to hornsea i think are all red flagged from today because of sewage greg. A little bit of rain and thats the excuse to pump pure human shite into the humber n north sea. I got steam coming out my ears with these water companys greg. All the best from a still rainy n windy G.Y.
That's exactly what south east water have been doing around the kent coast for the last few years and then they blame it on the infrastructure and then say everyone's water bills will have to go up to cover any upgrades. It's disgusting mate
Ray for the lad 👍👍. Pirate springs that spot, i live local, 1 hour before high 2 down usually best, can have some good ray sessions there, get small hounds, bass, gurnard, flatties, eels and the usual dogs/whiting. Its a got spot to head to after fishing T23 low water. 🎣
I've heard of Pirate Springs but never knew this was it. It looked like a good mark and sounds like it aftercehat you can catch there. I'll definitely be back for a proper session👍
