There is nothing wrong with using virtual dj with the ddj 1000 or ddj FLX10. It preference.virtual dj had upgraded to the fact that whenever I dj clubs ,other dj ask me if I am using serato just cause of how high standard the looks of the app looks on my Mac.
I use virtualdj with my 1000 and 800 all the time and the integration is exceptional. The only thing lost is the rekordbox FX, but the FX strips does work with VDJ fx on the channels and the beat count. However all the features on the jog displays are there in the same way. It's not 'crazy' because there are some advantages in using vdj that break the limitations u get in rekordbox, plus the stems on vdj is presently the cleanest u can get on the market. The FLX10 would be the best controller to use vdj with the stems buttons, which would make stems control easier for a vdj user but it's not a need as vdj allows easy midi mapping. VDJ also exports to USB sticks for CDJs
My bad for labelling it as “crazy”, I said it from the perspective of someone who moves back and forth between controllers and CDJs, nothing malicious 🙏🏿👊🏿
I'm kind of curious about the overall longevity of The DDJ1000 controller, and I Love it..don't get me wrong. How long do you think the DDJ will work with Virtual DJ?
@@djstretchtone9851 It appears controllers made natively for other platforms work longer with VDJ than it does with the platforms it was made for. All those serato controllers that were no longer supported by serato still work with VDJ and the same goes for the controllers rekordbox announced won't work with rekordox 7 unless a subsciption is paid. ua-cam.com/video/z5tgqB4Domo/v-deo.html ... so i will say it will last forever. The weakest point i've seen with the ddj1000 is in the jogwheels that seem to ware off with (i'm guessing) misuse or it being roughed up. There were issues of the jogs coming 'off the track', but this is not a prominent issue.
DDJ-1000 is still rocking and finally STEM can be used and sounds okay with Rekordbox. I prefer to have knobs to gradually adjust STEMS and it's easy to map this to knobs not used. I'll stick with the DDJ-1000.
hey not too much on virtual dj, I've loved it!. custom feel of it and its just as good and smooth as rekordbox/serato! I'll continue buying new pioneer boards and using it. not crazyyylolll
Hey, I would really like your opinion on switching from my Traktor Kontrol S4 mk3 to the ddj1000. First of all, I really love the S4 controller and as you said it has a really in depth technical settings and functionality but it is just so frustrating that there are 1. only very few good tutorials on how to mix with it and in depth explanation. I would rather find myself exploring features by accident than in a manner of tutorials. 2. it is really hard to make your way out of your homestudio with it because as you mentioned most clubs, bars and events feature most likely a pioneer controller or CDJs. So my question is, do you think it would be a mistake switching to the ddj1000 as it lacks some of the functionality of the S4 or do you think in terms of getting out of the Stu it is worth it. I would absolutely appreciate to hear your thoughts on this. :)
Just scored the 3rd last brand new rekordbox one in New Zealand bro. After I watched your video the night before picking up I knew I had made the right choice. Far superior to my old ddj 800 😊
Great video! I have a DDJ 800 and found myself relating to almost everything you mentioned. Could you clarify the specific differences between the DDJ 800 and the DDJ 1000, aside from the Stems separator that you mentioned isn't as essential as we might think?
Kinda nearly fell into the "ah new shiny gear gotta have it" nonsense myself when the FLX-10 dropped. Got quoted £600 + my DDJ1000 to trade in for a shiny new FLX-10 lol. And still to this Day Rekordbox still haven't honoured the FLX-10 buyers with proper Stem implementation.
That’s the reason that I wouldn’t by the 1000. I use Djay with my iPad and although i do use rekordbox to update my thumb drive for those occasions when I can’t use Djay, i still prefer a controller that I can use on both my iPad and on rekordbox with my laptop. The FLX10 is very flexible and the 1000 is almost dead

brooo i thought i had to upgrade until you showed the pad trick! thx
Totally agree mate 👍🏼 Apart from that the FLX10 is more plastic, it has a design that looks like a toy and looks cheaper.
just sub.. you made so much valid point at the end. "Play music and make people dance"

Thx mate ... flawless

Hey Thozi i follow your content thats so usefull. Just recommend me my plan is buy a ddj-1000 and ipad or notebook
it would be good if you could point out VDJ shortcomings.

I really want to upgrade to one of these but it's really a stretch on my budget. Should I just settle for the ddj-800?
Save more and just get the flx 10
Crazy? VDJ Steams 2.0 is Way Better than RecordBox
Do you have to use a laptop for the DDJ1000 or can you use a Tablet
Bro thozi I took the advice you gave me and I bought the controller DDJ1000.
How is it treating you so far?
@@thozimusic yes it is sir
I have a Ddj-flx4. I am thinking about selling it and getting a Ddj-800. What’s your thoughts? Yay or nay?
Definite yay

Where can I rent a dj control bcz I still using my phone 😢
You will get your gear in time bro bro, don't worry too much about it, if your phone gets the job done then use it to the max :)
@@thozimusic@SmangalisoSimon see if there’s a Pirate Studio near you, they let you rent a dj booth in time slots if you really wanna get on the decks.
Try Guitar center, and or a small Mom and Pop Audio P.A. Music equipment store.
