  • When defense attorney Jesse Bright was pulled over in North Carolina while moonlighting as an #Uber driver, he began filming the encounter. Allegedly, he had been pulled over for picking up a passenger from a known 'drug house,' but that didn't stop Bright from continuing to film, despite the police officers incorrectly telling him that it was illegal to do so.

On a different note, my uncle who was a sheriff in Florida for 25 years told me that if a cop EVER takes you in for questioning, never, ever talk to them without an attorney present. This is because they are legally allowed to lie to you, and threaten you with arrest, even if they have zero reason/ability to do so.

You aren't charged with anything, but your things are. and the money they get from Civil Forfeiture can be spent on ridiculous things like a Zamboni or a margarita machine... They just ask if you have money on you, takes that money and uses it to purchase toys. Based on nothing but their whim. They even stole a house, the son of the house was charged with possession and selling of drugs, but instead of charging the parents for being accomplishes, they charged the house and evicted the family. remember only the son was charged, no charges were levied against the parents, meaning they are innocent, but they were evicted regardless.

I Wonder...What's the WASTED cost of this stop:
    * 5 officers' salary for an hour
    * Total Embarrassment to Police Precinct
    * Legal fees, because NO ATTORNEY WOULD PASS THIS OPPORTUNITY (me neither!)
    * Required officer RETRAINING (original training obviously was NOT sufficient)
*Probable officer job loss or demotion
    *Emotional toll on driver.
