about mentality of a child. I guess it depends on how we educate the children. When I was in school we got many trips to museums, theatres, operas, galleries, it was smt rather normal even for small kids like 7 years old. And AFAIR our families would bring us on such trips too. It was normal thing to do with family at saturday. In 80-90s. :)
Dear D. can you imagine that there was no regular bathroom in the castle at the time of Louis XIV? Bathing or showering was not common in this period, and vast quantities of perfume were used to combat foul odors. The German sister-in-law of the Sun King "Liselotte von der Pfalz" describes in her memoirs that the king had lice in his wig and "smelled like a corpse. His successor Louis XV, on the other hand, later had a kind of Roman bath for his mistress Madame de Pompardour😉😊
False, each room had a bathroom and there were even public toilets which were destroyed during the reign of Louis XV to enlarge his daughter's room. Louis XIV did not take a bath (very little) but he cleaned his body every day (or rather had himself cleaned). As for the other nobles, they had no problem taking baths or even swimming in the ponds when the temperatures were too high.
LOL no it's not Chinatown gold, it's gold leaf, it's extremely fine. On the other hand in the tapestries of the king's room it's brocade woven with gold threads and from memory in this room alone there are 40kg of gold.
Hello friend! All that "Chinatown gold" as you call it 😂 .... Is actually gold leaf. It's gold!... Not 100% of course, but it's gold. And if you Google --> "les invalides", (which is a building in Paris) the golden roof is made the same way. Gold leaf. ✌🏻
The chateau of Versailles is empty almost and there are some furniture. All the furnitures were sold during the French revolution between 1792-1795. And some Americans bought it in Paris. Nowadays we find some of these furnitures of the French monarchism in a nice exhibition hall of the MET museum in NYC Central Park.

The golden decorations on the facades and in the castle are in gold leaf applied one by one. IT IS REAL GOLD. Because gold represents "Le Roi Soleil" Louis XIV.
Eat some cake. That’s what she said 😂 Been to Versailles two times. Once with my parents as a child and ones so far as an adult. Bring enough time with you, about a full day is enough to view the chateau and the park area …

In the Spiegelsaal of Versailles ( 7:40 ) the prussian king Wilhelm was declared as the new german emperor Wilhelm I by chancellor Bismarck. Sounds weird, eh?
Who made this evaluation ? Lol. Is it just the estate and the château, without all the movable artworks? It's way below reality, and anyway, its historical value alone makes it priceless.
As a European, it is an honor for me to see an American who speaks a European language, even if it is not perfect. because here it is your actual mixed origin. Because the USA only existed after Europe, after the discoverers of the individual European kingdoms. Many origin residents of the American continent were displaced or killed during this time. (from Europeans) but since you also fight for freedom and equality in the USA for foreigners and inhabitans and also welcome other religions and other people, I think that the USA can be a country of the United Nations of the world, not just the "USA". but where every person of this planet has a place to live.
