    I look forward to your videos always. Don't like the shorts because they don't quench my thirst for content from you 😳

    After watching your demo intently I am inspired to pull out my old overlocker (hasn't been used in about 30 years) and give it a go. I am about to begin teaching my niece to sew and I know she will love what an overderlocker (as we always called them hehe) can do!

    I love my brother machine! The 1034D is such a simple, but efficient serger!

    I have the same one! I bought it because a lot of professionals on youtube recommended it and it helps me follow along better as well. I'm still SUPER new with it but I'm excited 😁

    Great video, I have one as well and it’s a joy to work with. The lattice trim on this machine is quick and easy too. You can also do gathers, cuts down on time.

    I love it! Now we have the same sewing machine AND overlocker. Which makes me feel even more confident when I make one of your patterns. 😂 I’m still working on my turtle sweatshirt since I’ve been crazy busy, but it’ll be done by the end of the week! 🤞🏽

    ♫ Trim Triminy ♫ omg you make my day. I have this serger and it's a workhorse, and I already know what I need to know.... but... I knew this would be entertaining and you did not disappoint! Love you! Love your show haahah!

    I had an older used Janome serger which was incredibly noisy and could never figure out how to feed through that first thread. It's gone on to a braver owner than I. :( This was an excellent demo!

    Those White Cones that are on those Tall Thread Reals, are there to hold the Larger Thread (which look like Cones) you Push them all the way down and Place Cone threads on them to lock them into place.

    I was looking to get this one as it is adorable but I couldn't find it here in Australia. I ended up buying a good second hand domestic overlocker as I already has an industrial one.

    Thank you for making a video on serging! Since we're talking about overlocking, I have a question: I notice that you serge the individual pattern pieces before sewing them together, and I was wondering why that rather than sewing the pieces together and then serging the sides.

    • @LydiaNaomi
      @LydiaNaomi  Рік тому

      I depends if you want to press open the seams or press them to one side. Its up to you :)

    Hi Naomi! I was wondering how you learned how to pattern?! Ive been trying to learn but i struggle a lot😭

    • @LydiaNaomi
      @LydiaNaomi  Рік тому

      I learned in fashion school, you could get the Helen Joseph Armstrong text book for drafting, or follow drafters on YT. Best of Luck!!

    What would you use overlocking for?

    • @planningtolive_thebestlife453
      @planningtolive_thebestlife453 Рік тому

      An overlocker is used to finish raw edges on the inside of clothing so that there aren’t any loose threads at risk of unraveling when you wear or wash your garment.
      There are other uses that are more for decoration but that’s the main reason people buy them.
