Man I missed that futuristic vibe late 90s and early 2000s tech had. I wish that aesthetic would come back, it had so much character. This track transports me back to that time period and I love it.

The futuristic vibe you describe is actually an optimistic/utopian vision that exists from the 50s to the mid-90s.
After the movie matrix + all the events that take place nowadays, the vision of the future is now anchored in a permanent anguish.

INCREDIBLE video. Editing the actual system in real time and capturing odd angles inside of it was the perfect video to a perfect track. It’s all so authentic to the feeling, for years i always wanted a track based on the PS2 boot and this is the best it gets

It’s a weird one and sometimes hard to pigeon hole. But I would say it’s a line between Breakcore and Ambient Jungle (just because of the emphasis on the drumbreaks, they’re also not clean and heavily quantised)

playstation always had that weird feeling that xbox couldn't replicate that you were using some kind of fancy new technology that was ahead of the others. the feeling really dropped off after ps3 and xbox took the leadership in hardware but in the early 2000s nothing else could compete
