I feel like Chris has DEFINITELY quit youtube and he knows it and is going to make these come back videos a yearly tradition to drag us along, but not in a malicious way, purely just for comedic effect. You're a cruel lover, Chris.

I watch his younow streams sometimes and it seems like his turmoil about whether or not to do youtube is real. I think he was successful at it and that was so scary that he didn't know how to maintain or build it, so he was paralyzed and did nothing but doesn't know what else to do with his life and hasn't completely let go of that former success. He jokes about it, but I don't think he's trolling, it seems like he has very genuine conflict that has gone on for years.
thisismysea that's a common feature of exceptionally gifted people. They start something and find that in a relatively short amount of time they're a whole lot more successful than a bunch of people who have been honing their craft a lot longer, and that success doesn't feel earned and so they then run into a whole mess of self doubt or a complete nervous breakdown.
UA-cam offers so much potential for a young and exceptional comedian or entertainer to vastly outstrip people who have been working the standup comic scene for decades. I hope that if that is what's holding Chris back now he'll be able to work through it soon, because he is brilliant, and I'd love to see him go on with his UA-cam career.
He looks exactly the same as he did in 2012. If any youtuber was actually a vampire, it'd be him.

I went through this period recently where I remembered all the youtubers I used to watch as a teenager and when I looked to see what they were doing these days it was super sad to see you'd stopped making videos, so great to see you back! I remember how hilarious your content was - what was cool about it was that you just made things that you found funny yourself and got super creative with it. You're really funny naturally (and a super good actor) so if you just produce whatever content you yourself most enjoy doing, whether it's sketches or observation pieces or just talking about topics, you'll no doubt get a tonne of people tuning in to watch again. It's your personality that drew people in in the first place after all - so bring on the comeback, whatever its form! Looking forward to seeing more of you.
