Me too. And I'm so so so sorry. I had an online friend who slowly throughout time became very... clingy. Would tell me all the time they couldn't live without me, they needed me, I saved their life, etc. I was 12-13 when that started. They were about 16-17. By the end of it, they were 18, and I was around 14. (Its harder for people to understand when they hear that, because "but 13-16 is such a small gap!!" not understanding that that was BRIEF and THE SMALLEST gap.) They were mostly 17 and 18 throughout our interactions . And what they had me do. Was we got into roleplay. Then suddenly our characters were dating. Then suddenly the roleplay was held over my head, because it felt like a real relationship, I was rewarded with it, and punished without it. I was there when their girlfriend was abusive, and they managed to convince me that they were only reflecting her abusive behaviors, they would "NEVER actually" do that. They were just traumatized! Then, with my CHILD character, they would have us do torture roleplays. Not in a normal way. They would use language like "I think he's ready for playtime" or "let's tagteam him." I can't find it in me to go through the exact quotes, but it would get worse. It was never normal "torture" it was... very sexual, and involved tying people up. They would also lovebomb me. And at the time, you know what my solution was? Cut off contact with everybody BUT THEM. Somehow, I had been convinced the icky feeling was everybody else, that if I were just alone with them, things would get better! But they only felt worse. It wasn't even when I was alone, destroyed, and finally blocked them that I understood what had happened. It was almost a year later. Because you can't ever fully understand while its happening. They act like they love you so much, make you feel so good, but they're just in it to gr00m you.

By the end of it, they were 18, and I was around 14. (Its harder for people to understand when they hear that, because "but 13-16 is such a small gap!!" not understanding that that was BRIEF and THE SMALLEST gap.) They were mostly 17 and 18 throughout our interactions
. And what they had me do. Was we got into roleplay. Then suddenly our characters were dating. Then suddenly the roleplay was held over my head, because it felt like a real relationship, I was rewarded with it, and punished without it. I was there when their girlfriend was abusive, and they managed to convince me that they were only reflecting her abusive behaviors, they would "NEVER actually" do that. They were just traumatized! Then, with my CHILD character, they would have us do torture roleplays. Not in a normal way.
They would use language like "I think he's ready for playtime" or "let's tagteam him." I can't find it in me to go through the exact quotes, but it would get worse. It was never normal "torture" it was... very sexual, and involved tying people up. They would also lovebomb me.
And at the time, you know what my solution was? Cut off contact with everybody BUT THEM. Somehow, I had been convinced the icky feeling was everybody else, that if I were just alone with them, things would get better! But they only felt worse. It wasn't even when I was alone, destroyed, and finally blocked them that I understood what had happened. It was almost a year later. Because you can't ever fully understand while its happening. They act like they love you so much, make you feel so good, but they're just in it to gr00m you.
I had an older friend when I was in middle school who was extremely inappropriate and manipulative, he never did anything to me but sometimes looking back on it I feel taken advantage of and silly for believing/hanging out with someone like that

I babysit tween-age kids. I’ve had to give them this lesson so many times. Many kids I know have been used in this way, especially in this day and age where everything is public and online.
