Hi, I love the picture hanging on the wall behind Antonio - the one of the safari jacket in the background at 6.13 - is there any way of having a closer look at it please?
Lol my hands are all over the place. I usually find myself putting my right hand in my left like a catchers mitt about mid chest to mid stomach. It's hard not to talk with my hands, but people, not men and women don't look away. I also tend to touch people's arms or shoulders when I talk. It keeps people engaged, but I read the person. I've diffused situations, but also got into a fight or two because of it. What does that mean or what do you think about that?
“Assume that everybody likes you.”
Honestly in my 44 years I’ve never thought to do that and generally assume the opposite. Gonna keep this in mind from now on. Thanks!
I first saw the leg crossover in The Godfather. When I saw Micheal Corleon do the leg-over-leg crossing in that chair talking about his plan for killing Solozzo and the Police Captain, he looked so quietly menacing and deadly....mimicking the lethality of his father dispensing "justice" earlier in the movie. Later, Micheal OFTEN crosses his legs this way and he looks SO relaxed and confident in his utmost power of life and death. For me...crossing legs like this? Done.
Man I’m so bad at this and by the way I have my condición of autism spectrum disorder (Asperger) Antonio, I will like to have a circle of intelligent people around me like myself but is very challenging for me cause I always want to be by myself your channel has help me in having things organized in my every day life so I say thank you
Burp silently. Respected advice.
18:49. Love love that Kingsman reference
"Chew with your mouth closed", "Don't talk with your mouth full", "if you need to burp, try to do so quietly"
By the nine, I wish more people followed just these 3 things.
Agreed!
My third grade homeroom teacher taught us this and other etiquette and table manners in 1976. I was very surprised when I got into the real world in 1985 after high school and saw how ill-mannered most people are eating like animals at a trough.
This is so helpful, many of these such as the walking with your hands in your pockets or not spreading a little while we sit to be more comfortable ,etc. are so subtle that it's really hard to know by ourselves. So it's very inciteful to have someone point it out for us and then we can easily introspect and change.
In my opinion, the only way to truly be a good man and a gentleman is to treat everyone with respect regardless of whether you like them. That is the baseline, most actions can be evaluated on this principle alone.
Thanks!
Thank you for this.
Something about this video seems so nostalgic.
Saw Dr. No yesterday. What an elegant and refined masculine man!
No doubt!
Another amazing video
Looking at the picture of the man sitting in the leg over leg position I don't see a man trying to protect himself. I see someone in control and comfortable in the situation. Now if he was hunched over, had his arms folded, or hands held together on his lap, I might say he looks like he's protecting himself. When you look at how someone is sitting, I believe you have to look at the whole picture. Take the guy with his legs spread. On one hand his legs can be spread open, he can be sitting up, relaxed, and open to others. On the other hand his legs can still be spread open, he can be sitting hunched over, staring at the floor, and unopen to others.
Exactly. Think Jean-Luc Picard.
@@johnmackey7721Or Michael Corleone.
EDIT... Just saw someone else has mentioned him too.
I try not to overthink my presentation in social settings, especially for business. My apparel becomes my armor. I work on my walk, do posture exercises every day, and have an appropriate eye blink rate. I'm a card-carrying member of the Leg Crossers Club (you know, for comfort). As for hand placement, I'm a proponent of the Merkel-Raute gesture. It's most natural for me.
It all comes together to give others the best version of me.
This video is very and extremely useful and will be saved to my list as I will have to watch more to take it all in.
Great video.
Rock on, Marine. Another fine vid to the collection; definitely one I’ll be sharing with my son(14) as he gets older. All the best to you and yours! 😎🤘🏻
Hi Antonio!...In the segment of the video where you wore a dark green jacket with a light blue chemise, your hair looked great! this hairstyle with a little of volume definetly suit you better! ...And, of course, great content, as always! 🙂
When you look away after 3 seconds, how long do you look away for before reengaging eye contact?
This Video is a gem my friend
Love the content ❤ I'm not a man but the content is helpful for anyone. I look forward to more men taking up your advice.
A psychology professor once warned us about making eye contact with an unknown drunk. It could start a fight.
RMRS: Take a shot every time I say "eye contact"
Everyone: R.I.P Alcoholic fatty livers
I feel that I am doing quite well with the "rules" Sadly Im a leg crosser and I find it comfortable...However I will do my best to sit better in the future, and forsure follow you for more lessons.
I saw Lon Chaney Jr walking with the queen...
I suspect his hair was perfect (and this happened a long, long time ago ;-)
The Secret Service never lets the President walk in front of them.
Maybe your best video ever.
These are good. One thing that may help is I know sign so I can continue talking while my mouth is full. 😉
As I listened to this I wanted to ask what are some good books on etiquette? Any recommendations?
Tq
Welcome
Hey Antonio,
West Texas people are the best! Wide open, like the countryside.
I’ve messaged you a few years ago. Your leg cross vid, is off on the “cross over” [Charlie Sheen] leg cross.
Over 50 year old’s can do that. JMHO.
I always walk behind my buddies when we go out cause they are shorter/smaller by a lot and I feel a protector role
Hey Antonio, my hands are all over the place. I usually find myself putting my right hand in my left like a catchers mitt about mid chest to mid stomach. It's hard not to talk with my hands, but people, both men and women don't look away. I also tend to touch people's arms or shoulders when I talk. It keeps people engaged, but I read the person. Very good content and very well condensed. Congratulations.
But the video is already on speed 2X and there's no way to speed it down...
Gentleman’s character is similar to Ben franklins virtue journal
10:20 how to walk properly: I remember how South Africa rugby players walked through the tunnel to the field in the last world cup final against New Zealand's All Blacks. Fitted, focussed,... not nervous, not afraid, but with the mind in the match. Just walk like a rugby player walking to play a final 👍
The walking is complicated. I did the long stride thing for a while until a girl at work told me she was intimidated by me because I walk like Michelle Myers from the Halloween movies. Also looking like you're in a hurry can make you look LESS confident because it looks like your late for something
Funny, I always used to really hunch my shoulders back in the day and people constantly told me so, but after joining up with the green berets it completely disappeared and almost 3 decades later women still tell me I have an extremely sexy walk. 😎
What does it say if I like to sit with both legs up. What's ofter referred to as "indian" style?
Lot of effort put in again, thank you and apologies for a comment I made recently quoting a rude statement of Elon Musk - not that I disagree with it but I went a little bit tough and I regret it: I could have made the same point without going that far.
This begs a question of style also:
I believe that words shall always be at level / on par with the situations…
=> Do you agree? What do you think? How to deal in words with an extremely repulsing/abject situation? How do men of style do it?
I am really interested please in your viewpoint built on elegance wrt this matter, and I believe this can help others too in our times of growing tensions, where such situations will increase in frequency.
Thank you again and be well.
Maybe if enough people watch this video, we can make public places in the USA like the Japanese subway stations.
👨🏻✈️👩✈️
I always love Putin or Daniel Craig walking appearances as these gentlemen come towards you like they mean business with confidence
If you didn’t know who they are you would still know they are in charge of room with body language
It’s more entertaining when you’re in a new job to act like you’ve been there for years, that way people introduce themselves first.
how to man?
"It comes out of ______ University"
Both feet flat on the ground about a foot apart when sitting is the only way. Anything else is defensive or closed off or being stressed. It’s the equivalent of standing with arms straight down (the only correct position for the arms when standing). Both are incredibly difficult mentally to do, it feels totally wrong and uncomfortable, which is why only real men can pull it off.
I could never do the leg over leg sitting style. Crushes my nuts. I have the cross leg ankle on the knee sitting style or crossed ankles in a group. When alone, my feet are constantly moving as I usually have music going on while completing tasks. As far as smiling...I have been told I am the only manager at work that smiles all the time and that I am more approachable since they see me as a happy person. Mainly the smile is because I actually love my job. The women at work tell me I have confidence when I walk and always smell good. I always take compliments from women at work as professional since I am not there to flirt but to do a job.
Another good, informative Video. But there is something off with your face...? I can see no wrinkles (except the forehead) or shadowed spots of skin. Did you use a "Beautyfilter" on this video? Strange...
Technically 27:53 mins which rounded up is 28mins
You should have covered how to give a proper handshake. Most men in the business world don't know how to give a proper handshake. Some pull a Donald Trump handshake and either rattle your brain or dislocate your shoulder.
Unless you are eating with the Queen, if the food is served hot you begin eating. That is the rule. Stop messing this up.
It's really helpful but a little too specific and strategic. Sometimes, things should come naturally.
Gentleman is a Simp these days dude
I don't see the pattern here. There's a very clear difference between respecting women and treating them like gods.
Go back to your Tate videos
whats that got to do with anything? I dont care about that guy lol @@jamegumm
Watching movies, or this video doesn’t make you a man.
Seriously, referencing movie characters?
Assume everyone likes you? That does’t make you a man, it makes you naive.
Yiur content has been really lacking lately
