The Crowbcat stuff is so funny to me cause at a certain point I assumed it was a group effort? Like, how could this channel go on for multiple years with the most click baiting premise on a single man's spite alone? This completely dissolved that theory for me, dude bought the game to tear it a new one and not only failed to find anything substantial but also did not have the internet on his side for once and completely backpedaled. Absolutely masterful
It's great. Dude built his channel off kicking the easy target while they're down and now that he's gone against a game that isn't widely hated he's crumpling and doesn't know what to do
He's pure /v/ "video games peaked when I was 14" in video form. Even videos I agreed with like his Dead Rising video came across as so smug I couldn't stand it.
As entertaining as his Cyberpunk video was I'd outright say it's outdated now, like yeah they seriously overpromised and put out some serious BS trailers, thankfully that makes up the bulk of the video. But playing it now I think it's a perfectly alright game that got a boatload of bug fixes, like 6 or 7/10 if you want a GTA-like with RPG elements and a cyberpunk aesthetic.
My first multiplayer game was Tekken 3, I was about 7 I think, we didn't own it, but my dad's friends did and bought the PS1 over sometimes. Anytime I played against the friends, they never let me win, and it was my mom who suggest "Instead of mashing buttons, why don't you look up things in Training Mode. SO I did that and also got a feel for how to do basic moves. Can't remember if I started winning or not, but I know it was at least not a complete one-sided. My favorite part though was when I helped finally get enough matches to unlock Dr. B. Who I started playing aroudn with that day. My dad came home, I showed him the new character I unlocked, and he went against me right there. He had no idea how to handl Dr. B falling over and couldn't hit me, and I just kept hitting back. He got so mad he just turned the game off and left.
It wasn't a loyal fan base. They just wanted to see him shit on stuff they dislike. One time he made a video that was a fan video for an indie game, purely because he thought it was neat, and his audience absolutely TRASHED him for it, saying he'd sold out. It was one of the nastiest comment sections I've ever seen.
@@MatthewPherigo If you look closely, you could see the fun leave his eyes. He became cruel after that. He fed the masses only the slop they wanted, and when he tried to pour it on something they liked, they revolted. Fascinating times we live in.
The fanbase sees about another "old good new bad" video but this time, it's about A GAME THEY LIKED! You have to know your audience, you can trash ubisoft and blizzard, but some companies and some good are off limits.
Crowbcat had plenty of older videos that made the audience go "who asked?" Those videos were made close to a decade ago, and he learned to focus on things that truly deserve a roasting, which led to his inconsistent upload schedule. He relapsed here, and the new audience is going to leave and dry up.
I think in general there is always a subset of people who get VERY upset when a game just does incredibly well and something in them is frustrated when they find out that their opinion is in the tiny minority of people who didn't like it and will lash out at all the people who do like it. they might not even hate the game but they do hate how many people do like it. almost like a form of FOMO. how dare all these people love a game this much when i either only like it a little or not really like it? I remember seeing it alot when games like GTAV, BOTW, TLOU, P5, Elden Ring. some people really do hate success when it comes to something they aren't a part of and instead of coming to the reality that they simply just don't happen to like the thing others love, they become upset and its now about how everyone else is wrong because my opinion has to be right.
I remember I read a long, well-founded review that compiled every single thing that the tactics ogre re-relase doesn't do as well as the original. At first I was convinced then I realized that if you list every downside without mentioning a single mechanic that was improved, it is inherently disingenuous and a shallow way to examine something.

my favorite is when it's used in regards to food, "This is delicious, but where's the soul?". what do you even NEED when you've already determined/admitted what you're eating is delicious?? same drivel as "You should've put a piece of yourself into this dish." like what, you wanna chunk of their leg or something?
The videogame industry itself is soulless the fact that gamers defend a remake proves videogames aren't art and will never be If you compare it to any other medium videogames have no soul.
I think Pat might be misinterpreting the title change. I automatically assumed "RE4 Remake is a Masterpiece" was sarcasm given the content of the video.
What I especially like is that at the end of Crowb's video there's this segment of cut content with the credits music over it, like it's supposed to make you feel sad about the content that was taken out, when it's actually just a compilation of my least favorite sections of the game. Like damn I'm so sad that all these frustrating, implausible, or stupid segments of the game were taken out!
its hilarious. the whole video was "make your own conclusions" meanwhile there is a animal abuse style montage of all the things people literally don't remember from the OG game while also making sure not to add all the new things and areas the game literally added like the mine section that was infinitely better then the original and made the game much better.

Poor crowbcat, not realizing the "old good new bad" only works when people already agree with it like GTA, ubisoft, cyberpunk, bioshock and mass effect. Poor crowbcat not managing his negative feedback very well.
I personally don't think the original change of the title was a back down, just from the description saying something about how the remake "kept all the soul of the original!". It felt more like Crowbcat was just fucking fuming that people didn't agree with him and it was him being a passive aggressive salty bitch about it.
the move is to keep it as close as possible without being too obvious, including letting them have rounds (or in team games, characters). Only stomp them out once they're wise to this
Ok, no. Pat and Woolie, much like any self respecting gamer, so, you know, not the rest of the Super Best Friends fandom, will extoll the greatness of indie games and have strong opinions on triple A games... not that this stops them from playing them. Or did you forget that that Woolie is the biggest fucking fan of Devil May Cry, a series that has been published by several different Triple A companies over it's LONG life time? However, they aren't going to tell you not to go and play them because that would run counter to their beliefs. They literally just had a discussion about this a couple of weeks beforehand. At best, they might try to dislude you review style, but hey, that's the best that anyone can do, right? Crow, on the other hand, *actively and repeatedly* uses his videos to get across the same point each time: the game industry is filled with liars and bitches, the Triple A industry never innovotes whatsoever (objectively untrue) and the old days are the best. Crow is literally the most distilled /v/ gamer in youtuber form, with everything that implies. Even Pat and Woolie will grugdingly admit when new game is good in some fashion. Crow? Crow believes that we should return to the fucking video game crash.
The worst part about that Crowbcat video is that it makes you question if his other videos are a genuine representation of the game he is trying to lambast.
his comparisons of game world reactivity between far cry 2 and later far crys look genuine his video on back for blood seemed pretty on the money this just seems like someone not known for producing a steady stream of content trying to stay relevant
Was the "RE4R is a masterpiece" title supposed to be genuine? It felt like sarcasm mocking everyone who says it is. Also you have to understand, a lot of people like Crowbcat do not like remakes, ever, just out of principle. They think they're an excuse for devs to pander to nostalgia instead of actually taking the risk with something new. Which on some level I at least GET that argument, unlike "SOVL vs Soulless" which is simply "this game doesn't have the exact same art direction as the original because even when it's all the same dev team members it's years later and they aren't the same people they used to be, and therefore the new art direction is bad". At least that's USUALLY what SOVL vs Soulless means, sometimes it just means, "this game has minorities in it when there wasn't before and therefore it has an agenda."
Oh yeah no the “it’s a safe choice” is fairly on point, but Christ yeah I hate when it turns into “every company must be pulling a blizzard diversity chart move”
While Crowbcat didn't like REmake 4, their style of video is only good at highlighting a lack of polish. Fantastic when you want to shit on bloated sandboxes like GTA or Far Cry, not so much in REmake 4's case where it's a fairly polished game no matter how you feel about it. So that only left doctoring the footage to sway viewer opinions in their favor.
There's a video out there called "In defense of Crowbcat" that I think shows what Crowbcat was trying to convey. It discusses the editorial decisions and probably intent of the original vid, the video maker even disagrees with crowb on some points
Am I the only one that interprets changing the title to "Resident Evil 4 Remake is a masterpiece" as an attempt at irony? Everyone is here saying that he backpadelled but it's so clear to me that the change was a sarcastic joke... idk maybe I'm wrong
Pat went on to talk about his DMX dog voice. That is not the right question. I want to know, if he imagines a conversation between himself and Woolie, is the Woolie in his head a taller version of Pat in Blackface?
I actually asked the title, and I did debate between French and White parent lol. Ultimately Pat doesn’t really scream French, in fact he literally screams how Anti French he is.
This has been Crowb's MO forever. He writes his own thesis as the title and then cherry-picks gameplay clips as a way to present it as "unbiased" information, and usually makes videos where the title is more favorable to the more popular game. He also likes to pick controversial games or developers as the target so that the vast majority of viewers already agree with the thesis before even starting the video, and as such never question the authenticity of his presentation thanks to confirmation bias. The community he's built is also incredibly toxic as a result, and you will get shit on for disagreeing with his thesis in the comments. Crowb is the only youtube channel I've ever put on my blocklist, and I'm glad to hear other people are aware of his bullshit too.

There’s no catch from the ladder thing anymore/getting knocked down and unknowingly prompting that line? Huh, weird to include that in the video though
@@UCannotDefeatMyShmeat I'd bet you MONEY if you confronted him about it he would say it's because "in the original she blocks your view and calls you out while in the remake you just can't see so it's less detail" but I've seen the threads of dudes mad about it and I'm not willing to give him the benefit of the doubt that he's not just mad he can't ogle a young woman
Those are just the usual fanboys though who hate the new game because it's not a 1:1 copy of the original (also they're all perverts that think that the defining feature of the game was looking up Ashley's skirt)
For the Crowbcat title change, I don’t think it was a backdown, instead I think it was a sarcastic change due to the hate the video was getting. But that makes them seem like such the immature baby that I have to question how someone who makes a living throwing rocks at glass houses also lives in a glass house.
Guy with the tip about button up onsies is pretty on point. The onsies that just have a couple snaps at the bottom arent bad. But the ones that have like a dozen that go all the way up are just awful. We got these button up onsies that had magnetic snaps. Those were actually super good. They almost self aligned. But it did tend to stick to the inside of the dryer so you had to be mindful of that. The thing about zippers is that they can derail. And thats the worst. In both cases, as soon as they put tubes in their ears to drain the fluid, they started learning how to talk right away.
This episode reminded me of MGS5 when Big boss absolutely beats the shit out of young liquid every single time he tries to act tough.
No contest, no punches pulled.
Liquid needed to learn the pecking order even if it was from his dad’s stuntman.
@@li-limandragon9287 liquid hiding behind a cargo container: "hell never find me."

since unsolicited advice is in season, here's my single rule: just make sure not to do something to your kid that they'll hate you for... sounds like the most obvious precaution, right? but you'd be surprised how many times... well, TMI
It's great.
Dude built his channel off kicking the easy target while they're down and now that he's gone against a game that isn't widely hated he's crumpling and doesn't know what to do
When the moron with 4chan brain disease steps out of his echo chamber for a single second.
Yeah it's now clear he's doing it for some weird culture war agenda and not actual criticism
The sequel we didn't know we needed
Crowbcat destroyed years of a loyal fanbase with 1 video, incredible
About time
I think in general there is always a subset of people who get VERY upset when a game just does incredibly well and something in them is frustrated when they find out that their opinion is in the tiny minority of people who didn't like it and will lash out at all the people who do like it. they might not even hate the game but they do hate how many people do like it. almost like a form of FOMO.
how dare all these people love a game this much when i either only like it a little or not really like it?
SBF play Dark Souls part 68, 31 minutes in- the origin of 'woof bark'. you're welcome. thank you. i was born stupid- but i will not stop watching old SBF videos.

Can I just say how much of a non-critique "Soulless" is? Like, it's the equivalent of calling someone a name in an argument because you can't actually articulate why you don't like something.
Thank you Woolie, for unlocking a shit ton of memories that remind me why I stopped talking to my dad.
Soulless means "the art direction isn't the same as in the original, and I think it's worse"
my favorite is when it's used in regards to food, "This is delicious, but where's the soul?". what do you even NEED when you've already determined/admitted what you're eating is delicious?? same drivel as "You should've put a piece of yourself into this dish." like what, you wanna chunk of their leg or something?
The videogame industry itself is soulless
the fact that gamers defend a remake proves videogames aren't art and will never be
If you compare it to any other medium videogames have no soul.
@@xXFoiXx lmao, chasing after "art"
@@psykomancer4420 Videogames just aren't art. That is why they are "soulless" to some people
They are just products.
The best thing about this is woolie actually changing the title
I think Pat might be misinterpreting the title change. I automatically assumed "RE4 Remake is a Masterpiece" was sarcasm given the content of the video.
What I especially like is that at the end of Crowb's video there's this segment of cut content with the credits music over it, like it's supposed to make you feel sad about the content that was taken out, when it's actually just a compilation of my least favorite sections of the game.
Like damn I'm so sad that all these frustrating, implausible, or stupid segments of the game were taken out!
its hilarious. the whole video was "make your own conclusions" meanwhile there is a animal abuse style montage of all the things people literally don't remember from the OG game while also making sure not to add all the new things and areas the game literally added like the mine section that was infinitely better then the original and made the game much better.

after hearing how woolie was going to show his kid fight games , i cant fucking wait the 10-15 years it will take before the podcast episode about how woolies child hates fighting games.

Pat: “fuck what you heard *grrr*it’s what you’re hearing. LISTEN!”
Woolie is gonna parent like a Shonen antagonist.

@@gameb9oy His N-pass came from Woolie, who has had his distribution license revoked. It is not valid.
We already have audio of him saying it with the soft a, perhaps things can be arranged.
I have on of Matt, at least it sounds close
It's funny to think if it were the case that the crowbcat video only exists because people were mad at him when he was positive in a previous video
Also
I played games with my older brother (by 10 years), not my dad
He did not let me win a single game of Quake 3
I think that really molded me for frustration
As an older brother, hell yeah. Don't give your siblings an inch!
@@jjrambles683 He played on the highest handicap and everything, but 5 year old me could never beat him
Poor crowbcat, not realizing the "old good new bad" only works when people already agree with it like GTA, ubisoft, cyberpunk, bioshock and mass effect.
Poor crowbcat not managing his negative feedback very well.
poor crowbcat not realising that not everything he does is mana from heaven
I personally don't think the original change of the title was a back down, just from the description saying something about how the remake "kept all the soul of the original!". It felt more like Crowbcat was just fucking fuming that people didn't agree with him and it was him being a passive aggressive salty bitch about it.
the move is to keep it as close as possible without being too obvious, including letting them have rounds (or in team games, characters). Only stomp them out once they're wise to this
Can't wait for Pat to end up turning his kid into a staunch anti zapping system supporter.
Changes title of the video twice still gets clicks
Crowbcat trying to deceive us is such a heel turn
...Is it *really though?*
This is his normal fucking MO. He just stepped on the wrong fight this time and ended getting a fight he didn't want.
He always was a heel.
by this logic, Pat & Woolie are heels too because of how they they obsessively rip on crunched Triple A titles too
The only difference is that it wasn’t an easy target this time.
The worst part about that Crowbcat video is that it makes you question if his other videos are a genuine representation of the game he is trying to lambast.
his comparisons of game world reactivity between far cry 2 and later far crys look genuine
his video on back for blood seemed pretty on the money
this just seems like someone not known for producing a steady stream of content trying to stay relevant
I love you guys! Even after over a decade you guys still make me crack up
Re1 og has Jill sandwich (soul)
Re1R does not have Jill sandwich (soulless)
the fact that woolie actually changed the title of one of his three houses videos during this podcast
If it happened once, whose to say it won’t happen again

I really want somebody to redo videos with like AI pat voice as if they're in his mind now.
I need Snake Eater but Pat sings every part
Am I the only one that interprets changing the title to "Resident Evil 4 Remake is a masterpiece" as an attempt at irony? Everyone is here saying that he backpadelled but it's so clear to me that the change was a sarcastic joke... idk maybe I'm wrong
Pat went on to talk about his DMX dog voice. That is not the right question. I want to know, if he imagines a conversation between himself and Woolie, is the Woolie in his head a taller version of Pat in Blackface?
"haha hey it's me woolie when is marvel i steala the piea"
This is a power move
Pat got the question thrown at him and he was READY for it
Crowbcat has always been old thing good new thing bad but now it’s happened to an actually good game

You really want to be triggered by people being disingenuous and outright lies about how a game works watch under the mayo's review of EVERY game that isnt Doom Eternal. He purposely played games poorly to make them look bad.
Guess what? He also made a video defending Crowbcat's RE4 video.

The mod maker quickly concluded that it just kind of messed with the gameplay loop.
I don't think he does it intentionally, if the game doesn't do what he wants he just doesn't know how to play
I would also like to note the Crowbcat video has a segment dedicated to "comparing" the fact you cant look up Ashleys skirt just in case you thought being a nostalgia filled dork making a video in bad faith wasnt bad enough
And people were repeating the disigenous stuff of crowbcats video the moment t came out.
Those are just the usual fanboys though who hate the new game because it's not a 1:1 copy of the original (also they're all perverts that think that the defining feature of the game was looking up Ashley's skirt)
sounds like everyone on the internet to me.
Also they can chafe the baby if the fit is a bit tight.
Above all else, Pat should avoid being the ginger parent.
And if Woolie has a kid, good luck to him trying to be normal and not white.
As long as Woolie’s inability to read and his concerning love for labbing isn’t heredity, that kid has a chance to turn out fine.
