  • The path of Refuge Recovery begins with the First Truth: addiction creates suffering. This is not a philosophy. It is a practice; it demands action. We must understand, acknowledge, admit, and accept all the ways addiction has caused suffering in our lives. We take this action by writing and sharing an in- depth and detailed inventory of the suffering we have experienced in association with our addictions.
Refuge Recovery is a non-profit organization grounded in the belief that Buddhist principles and practices create a strong foundation for the addiction recovery process.

Thanks for sharing Noah. I've been a fan of your work since Dharma Punx dropped. Randomly searched you on UA-cam and stumbled upon these vids, it's cool you're doing this. Keep it up man

Thank you, Noah. As for the surgery/medication question, a lot of places/cities have medication disposal sites at the local health departments, sheriff's office, etc. There is also the Angel Initiative in some areas where you can drop any illegal drugs or paraphernalia at state police posts with no questions asked; however, if you do want to talk with someone you can talk to the police social worker in the angel initiative and they can assist with locating rehab resources.

I am so happy my soul friend sent this to me! I’m struggling so hard and trying to get into rehab but I’m Covid positive and I’m in a very toxic environment with constant badgering and bullying? From my mother. This is wonderful because my goal is serious now to practice meditation and get relief from resentment! But everything you’ve said is just what I’ve been praying to do! Maybe I’m sending energy to wrong place. Any thoughts advice i would greatly appreciate ❤

Like everything about this program but the WORD ADDICT. In today's world there is no room for negative terms like alcoholics and addicts, Lets please use Substance use disorder or alcohol use disorder etc. and end the stigma around addiction.

even though someone is in fact addicted? come on, this is language being precise, not stigma.

The program isn't just for people that deal with SUD or AUD. I just attended my first meeting today and theres people with different addictions...like spending, eating etc and so they are addicted to spending...they are a spending addict. The word addict is umbrella and keeps it simple and inclusive to everyone and not just pointing fingers at AUD or SUD sufferers
