    What an inspiring video, so authentic, and so well done. It was wonderful to see the story unfold with Smart teachings so subtly weaving in and out of it. On a personal note, I chose to go to Smart Recovery in 2005 and it opened the door to a whole new way of living. Since the day that I joined, I have been through more than one traumatic event, a major car crash, the sudden loss of my beloved partner when he woke up one morning and had a brain hemorrhage, and even chronic leukemia. Sounds like a lot, and it was and still is, but all of it is manageable using the Smart Recovery tools. After I became acquainted with the tools, I knew and still know that drinking is a choice, and not something I want to do, no matter what comes my way in life. I, too, hope this movie will gain a wider audience and find its way to places like Netflix and Amazon. There's no proselytizing in it; it's just a heartwarming and believable story about what's possible if you want to change your life. Thank you so much for producing this film. I'm sure it will help a lot of people realize that they are not helpless victims, that they can choose a different way to live.

    Wow. Great short film and I have walked these shoes.. dont give up.. Hope exists.. It comes in the form of believers.. A Believer comes in the form any person, anywhere that refuses to give up and asks themselves, What else can I do to improve. How else can I help others.. Look to the left and to the right of you. The answer is right in front of us. The solution is ourselves. Bring people closer together.

    Really enjoyed it. Tough to walk the balance between educational and entertaining. Appreciated that it wasn't preachy and especially that there wasn't a neat and tidy resolution for everyone. Most times, one can't fix the past and has to learn to live with it. Congratulations SMART!!

    "There are as many ways to recover as there are individuals" made me cry. I have horrid religious trauma, and people often advertise AA as the "only" option - no hate towards AA but it just f*s me up and triggers me really badly. This time around I´ll go the SMART route. I finally feel human instead of some disgusting, poor hellspawn.

    • @KKUltra12
      @KKUltra12 9 місяців тому +1

      @palapeura375 I am so sorry you had a religious hurt and pray you do not become upset with God because of human fault. I have had tremendous “church hurt” and ran away from recovery because of it. Now, with SMART recovery and CR in my toolkit, what you stated about “There are as many ways to recover as there are individuals” really speaks to me also. Thank you for sharing your experience and hope. The truth is God is all good all the time and it is so painful when trauma happens. Thank God for SMART to help with trauma and SUD caused by the same. Blessings in sobriety! Get SMART!!!!!

    Thank you so much for making such a wonderful and moving film. I think it's so important to try to make inroads into making it known what the range of options - like SMART - of mutual aid and support is out there and this is a great start. I just wish it had more views! Also, with a mind on making mistakes/stumbling, picking ourselves up and moving on - I love the fact that in the pre-film title sequence you have miss-spelled "Struggles" as "Stuggles" :-) From now on I am going refer to myself as someone who "Stuggles" with addictive behaviour :-) Keep up the great work SMART Recovery!

    I'm in recovery, more white chips than I can count. And every time I slipped up I would beat myself up, and dreaded having to pick up another white chip. Going through the steps helped me understand why, and how to live sober. I can't talk about the times I hit a joint or being on meds in the meetings without feeling looked down on, so out of respect I don't. I stopped counting days and I learned to live in the moment. And my life has gotten tremendously better. But I'm worried about suggesting AA to people purely because of the fellowship and how toxic it can be.

    Everybody Loves a Happy ending, but those of us that are Addicted simply want an ending. this little film was cute, sweet but Not at all realistic. a habit becomes a routine and descends in to a nightmare, the kind that is ongoing that you often don't wake up from.

    My hearing isn't good, so I use cc (closed captioning). How does one fix cc to reflect what is truly said? I'll give a small example; starting at 10:37, cc says. "...want to do labels that's like finding out mr. Rogers was a car get it mr. Rogers was a crackhead [pause] mr. Rogers a lot of a crackhead I'm going don't think too much about it." I think what was said was "...want to do labels. That's like finding out Mr. Rogers was a crackhead. Mr. Rogers was a crackhead. Mr. Rogers wasn't a crackhead. I'm going, don't think too much about it." I'd be happy to go through line by line and edit the cc, if that's something someone can show me how to do.

    I guess it was a cute little film.
    I wish it explained more, though.
    Like when they were talking about the worst thing they had both ever done. They called it an irrational thought. What is an irrational thought??
    I was hoping for a film i could send to my girlfriend while just restarting recovery...
    Unfortunately, this isn't it.
