Listen to this guy!!!! I have just got my wizard flying after 8 hours all thanks to this guy... Love you dude your pdf was spot on too. It is raing now just my luck. X
Great Video . You are the only one who explained the flashing from the FC in a way that everybody can understand it. Also all the issues who can happen are well explained and you deliver the Solutions ! Many thanks from Germany !!!!!!
You seem like a nice guy and I appreciate the time and effort you put into preparing for and making this video. I really wanted to understand this video, but I must now admit that I am completely ignorant about all the technical wizardry and I know I am useless. I think the safest way for me is to buy my quad's with their own transmitters. Keep up the good work Terry :) Best wishes from West Cork, Ireland. Mike
GOD ... you saved me !! LOL i bought a ready to fly Wizard x220s cause i'm a NOOB lol.. and it didn't " work " .. so by following your video in the end it DID WORK :-D thank you mate !!!!!!!!!!
Thx. Never thought that it might be the wing. I will get that sorted. Very helpful advice and videos are very good. You halped me a lot setting up my first drone. Thank You.
Your step by step Cleanflight download instructions allowed me to easily install the necessary drivers and get Cleanflight up and running on my Windows 10 PC. Now that I've adjusted the receiver modes, hopefully using switch C, I now can do aerobatics. Thanks again!
Actually, the latest Cleanflight moved some things around, so those options are now on a different tab. Still need to do some of the mechanical stuff (mount antennas, install RX) but this thing might be in the air tomorrow. Edit: For those that have the IA6B receiver, this video shows how to bind it. Very simple once you see it. ua-cam.com/video/q7_7Bh1PNk8/v-deo.html
Hi bud I'm a noob also I found once I got betaflight things start to make sense there are sellers out there that charge a lot to set up the modes like "arm" "angle" etc. it's actually quite easy also set ya rates low cos ya can always bump the up keep up the good work
I flashed both of my wizard x220 without using a jumper and putting drone in boot mode. You have to have a updated PC / Mac. Download required drivers first and make sure pc/Mac can connect. Then if you get error just try downloading the firmware and loading it locally and try different settings on flash page until it takes.
This video is awesome! Definitely helped a newb with some things that were throwing me off. I have this setup with standard FS-I6 and cannot get the controller to register in cleanflight. I'm pretty lost on what could be going on because i have a connection to transmitter, and i've been using the controller in DRL sim so i know it works. Any thoughts on what i could be missing? Chance its a lemon transmitter maybe?..
absolutely... thanks for the clarification... that was more to keep the props spinning to keep control... gotcha..... thanks again, and be safe.. keep up the videos!!!
I got the X220, it's nice ship. I also fly the Bugs 2 drone, which is an absolute classic, the Bugs 6 and the Bugs 3 mini which are all great.I also have the Hubsan Storm X220, but it's in bit's as the mainboard failed, I like the Hubsan Storm but you go through some motors, I replaced 2 motors and then the mainboard failed which was major dissapointment, I could get a new mainboard for £25 of Aliexpress , but for that price I could just get another drone from Banggood. It bugs me that the drone failed after ONLY one MONTH, a drone should last for years as per the Bugs Range, cheap, durable and no problems.I modded the Bugs 3 to take a variety of Lipo's as well as the standard one's. My X220 should last well, fitted my cheap generic Go pro type CAM to it, a Deportiva. Need to get out with X220, get a few more batteries for it, nice high capacity 3 cells, for nice long flights - should be a real STORMER!!! All this bloody stuff is great Adam but it's so complicted man, I guess I don't need to wory about it yet, just get out there and fly the thing for a long while first. How do you set up 3D flip on the X220? Rob
Great video, I got a lot out of it, even though I'm using Betaflight and not Cleanflight, it was still really useful. It also helped me resolve a noob error, plugged the cable int the wrong socket on the received (DOH!) thanks.
Quick question.. While watching you set up your 3 flight modes, you set Angle mode and Horizon mode on Aux 3.. then went and set your Air mode on Aux 2.. Should that have been set on Aux 3 so that Air mode was your 3rd choice with the 3 position switch??? Not correcting you, I am following your set up with my Wizard coming in this week.. I thought those choices of flying were all on the 3 way switch... Its at 28 min 32 sec...... Great videos, setting mine up with your identical numbers to start.. Thanks a bunch!!
Ahhhh.. Gotcha... OK, so the "air mode" just keeps the blades spinning when at zero throttle.. Had my last one set that way, and when I dropped the throttle, it fell like a brick !! With air mode on, it stays level and in control when coasting after a flip or roll... Makes sense.. Thanks again.. Any day now, the x220 will be at the door!!
I forgot great video and I want to ask one more question in clean flight is there a button to activate acro mode or is there a other website like beta flight
my wizard x220 came RTF... well it was supposed to be RTF. The setup tab in Betaflight reported that the flight controller identifier is BTFL, version 3.0.1. I am not sure of the difference between Betaflight and Cleanflight. Am I mistaken in using Betaflight? If it is ok, do I still follow your instructions? Also, it is already bound, do I need to rebind it?Thank you for a great video and setup guide.Richard
Sorry for the questions, I have my X220S now and in the middle of setting it up. On the FlySky TX, do you have to select Airplane, Helicopter Fixed Pitch, Helicopter Swash etc....for Model Type? Wouldn't you select Helicopter Fixed Pitch? Or does it do nothing? There's no Multirotor to select.
Thank you for these videos. Following your advice I did get everything programmed. I actually flew the wizard... for about 30 seconds at a time, but they were good seconds. Next question, is there any way to reduce the amount of power, get it on a slower ramp up and limit the top end, just while I am learning. It can get out of hand very quickly. Learning on the Tenergy Robin did help, I would have done some real damage without that experience.
I went through the transmitter step by step until I found the equivalent in the i6. But, only have two aux to play with. I set the arming and three flight modes. I am going to upgrade to the version that provides 10 channels so I can experiment with other functions, but will not change it now that stuff works. I am going reduce the power levels following a link Josh Bardwell sent me showing how to drop the power curve uniformly for the entire curve. Then I plan to fly the son of a gun for awhile and have some fun. Thanks for all your help, it really made a difference.
Okay, I've learned a bit more and I'm going through your video again. In terms of the modes, do we just assume that if the AUX 3 switch isn't explicitly assigned to Angle or Horizon that it's in Acro mode? And what about Air mode? I've seen that discussed in some Betaflight videos?
Dear uploader, Thanks a lot to upload a beginner's set up video like this. I ws a complete new abt flight controller & feeding th drivers into th SP F3. Your video is the video that helped me config th FC & fly it coz th downloading & installing ws pretty detail in yr video, helping a dump like me. :-) I made a scratch built drone, using SP F3 wth CleanFlight, not Eachine Wizard. The driver install part was pretty hard for me & I thought ths FC was pnp , bt it is not. Thanks a lot for uploading.
Hi! So I ordered a wizard and I ordered it ARF, along with a taranis QX7, a mistake I think I made was ordering the taranis with a RX8R, so I have no clue how to connect and arm it with the quad, I am not sure what exactly ppm is etc. please let me know if you might have an idea of what to do. I love your videos, I think they are a the best videos on explaining everything for noobs.
I just noticed your comment, let me tell you that I was successful, and yes! I had to set it up as an S-BUS, which needs to be connected on the back port via micro-jst, then on cleanflight, make sure is set on SBUS. So after all that I was finally able to get this thing in the air! A video for different radio languagues would be great! Thanks again!
hi, I have continued on setting up my fs-i6. I do not have the same functions in system/setup. My sign on screen is similar afhds2a m01. The rxl is different tx.v1:5.o5V. Problem is I do not have Aux Channels or Output. I haven't gone a further, thought I would see what you think. Thanks
My motors do not arm and I have noticed that the red light doesn't stop blinking. I have been through all cleanflight setups successfully. I noticed that the red light on your board stops blinking when you plug in the 12v bat. I have same board.
To get the flash fireware to install correctly, i held a stapler in the holes with my hand, this seemed to work successfully, if it keeps failing the cause may be the jumper pins coming out.
My drone seems to be drifting to the side on level mode. Tryed to calibrate it but still it keeps doing that. You already helped me a lot. Thx. Please help.
Hi. Very helpful video thanks very much. I run to a problem thought. I have upgraded my controller for 10 channel mode, but since then my motors are responding at 50% of a throttle, and they don't spin when I switch arm switch on. I have to raise my throttle half way up to get the response from motors, and when I do they are going crazy and I cannot control them. I followed you video and still something is wrong. Can you help?
When i got to the receiver part i got an error message on my receiver. It says err1: 1%. and i have no movement on my cleanflight screen when i move the throttle. your instructions have been great but now im stuck. please help!
I just snagged one brand new supposed to have a bricked board it powers up but that's about it and betaflight won't recognize it guess I need to do the boot trick
I need to talk cleanflight. I have the SP racingF3 deluxe which has gyro, accel, mag and barometer. I have the i6x and have been flying just fine in angle. My question: cleanflight shows tabs to set the range for mag and barometer. Are there defaults set, or may I enable them and the range with channel 6 which is Aux2 on sw C which I use for normal (angle) and sport and will use the third pos for acro mode. Some authors talk three modes, you speak of only two. Naturally, I'm confused.
hi tks for the great video!!...well done ....so i have a ?? to do so pls....... 1 the clean flight that i downloaded is Configure : 2.1.0 this is the latest one but i doN'T know which fireware version for SPRACINGF3 CAN CHOOSE ...CAN YOU HELP ME PLS?..
Regarding drop versus landing mode... some experience I have had before watching this video. Using drop mode config, I once lost connection near some power lines from the associated EMF interference. Drop behavior resulted in a very harsh fall that damaged my drone. I would wonder about anyone who had been using autolevel with landing mode as the failsafe and how well that worked versus drop mode.
Good points. Honestly, I can see a good argument for either one. But I think Drop results in the most predictable behavior, which is why it is the standard. Because even though it falls from the sky, at least you don't have spinning blades to deal with. I think if I knew I'd be flying over sparsely populated terrain, Landing mode might be a better option.
I was just going to buy a flysky radio to get back into Rd flying. No way that I am able to do all this software downloading and installing. I don’t think that I can get back into building and flying.🙈
Thanks for the video, I did follow your video and the problem I have is from the esc. Once I plug the battery I don't hear that sound from the motor. can you please help!
I ordered this drone but I thought x220 It came preloaded on beta flight why are you using clean flight I’m confused I am new to this and I am getting mine in a few days I want to set up my controller just like you have it but I’ve been watching all these videos and everyone does it differently and I’m so confused you’re using clean flight other people are using beta flight everyone I see says it comes with beta flight but you but I really like your set up so can you explain to me do some of these drones come with Beta flight and some come with clean flight And how would I know which version mine came with please help me I’m so confused
thanks man I was hoping you would reply I know I really want to set my controller up how you have it set up I bought some antennas to do a antenna mod as well I know how to do that do you still have your wizard you fly it on a normal basis
Hi not sure if you or anyone can help but I have just updated my wizard X220 to Betaflight 4.0.6 and now when I throttle up it just keeps on going and does not throttle down. Any help to fix this problem would be greatful thanks
So when I was doing the firm flash it started making a high pitched noise and then it disconnected and won’t connect again... what did I mess up on.. great lmao
Do you know if there’s a way to trim drift out with just the i6X transmitter for a tiny whoop like Mobula7? I found a video on how to calibrate the autolevel with just the transmitter by disarming the quad, then holding the throttle stick up and to the left, then pushing the right stick down one time. But trimming it doesn’t seem to work.
RCwithAdam ok, I was wondering if that would work. But like I said I initially levelled it by holding throttle top left, then pressing down on right stick and it made the beep which meant it worked, now for some reason the right stick being pressed down doesn’t make any beep now. But if I press it to the right, it beeps 3 times, Up beeps 2 times, and left beeps once.. any idea what other functions this would be doing by pressing those directions with throttle held top left? I just levelled it and pressed all 3 directions then flew and one of them must’ve levelled it cause there was a lot less drift.
I went out to fly and nothing happened. Couldn't even arm it. So I brought it back inside and went through this video again. All my settings are right, but when I connect the battery to the quad, I don't get any response to the transmitter. Also, where your transmitter says ExtV2, mine says SigS1: 10. No idea. Any clue what's happening? When the battery is connected, I can see the toggle switches work in Cleanflight, but sticks do nothing.
can you please help me i got this drone as a gift for my son but if been trying to test it and set it up but my remote has a error xode 1% or 70 % but the drom and remote are binded thanks for any help
And another thing that confused me I was watching another guy set up his drone and he set up switch D as the arm switch but he said switch d was channel 5 but you say switch a is channel 5 and switch D‘s channel 8 and that seems right but this other guy confused me think you can explain that to
when I go into clean flight my fc connects and all but i cant select any of the tabs down the left of the screen or the calibrate accelerometor , calibrate magnetometer, or reset settings. i click and they give the visual queue that it has been clicked but nothing happens. the tabs down the left dont even show anything when they are clicked. they get highlighted by the cursor, but cant be clicked.
Just wanted to say thank you for taking the time to do this.
Listen to this guy!!!! I have just got my wizard flying after 8 hours all thanks to this guy... Love you dude your pdf was spot on too. It is raing now just my luck. X

I agree 100%
Holy cow, I didn't realize it would take so much to get flying!
This video is great! It will help me for sure with my tinyhawk 2 and the x6b flysky receiver!
GOD ... you saved me !! LOL
i bought a ready to fly Wizard x220s cause i'm a NOOB lol.. and it didn't " work " .. so by following your video in the end it DID WORK :-D thank you mate !!!!!!!!!!

Very helpful. I just got my first homemade quad with this hardware and this video is a life saver. thanks for sharing!
Dude, I'm watching them all! Appreciate it.
EXTREMELY helpful. I have an iA6B receiver so my binding was a little different, but after that everything went smoothly. THANKS!
Actually, the latest Cleanflight moved some things around, so those options are now on a different tab.

Thanks mate! You gave me the confidence to buy the ARF rather then the RTF model this way I can use the fs6x rather then the older model fs6.
Great video but my controller doesn't have the aux enable option on the menu. Thoughts?

I will swap arm with the other one and see will it go other direction. I will text you the results. Have a good weekend. And fly fast.
absolutely... thanks for the clarification... that was more to keep the props spinning to keep control... gotcha..... thanks again, and be safe.. keep up the videos!!!
Super!! Wizard already set up! Thanks so much
thank you man she finaly flies
Congrats! What a great feeling!
Thanks man I've recently got a eachine wizard x220 I'm just waiting for my battery to come right now 😁
brilliant video, im still struggling getting my transmiter to speak with reciever in clean flight
after reading a few more comments i have sorted it thanks, i didnt have PPM turned on in my transmitter
great video I just saw this at my LHS and just had to have it !

Thanks for the video .. My issue with arming was solved.
Good to hear!
Great video, I got a lot out of it, even though I'm using Betaflight and not Cleanflight, it was still really useful. It also helped me resolve a noob error, plugged the cable int the wrong socket on the received (DOH!) thanks.

I like 👍 this video... I haven't buy my pfv quard but I will get my flysky fs-i6x first...thanks bro...
Oh one more thing I got the ready to Fly version with the FSI6 control
youre the best Terry, this was exactly what a noob like me needed.
I forgot great video and I want to ask one more question in clean flight is there a button to activate acro mode or is there a other website like beta flight
Can you tell me when would you use I-bus or S-bus? for what purpose?
Great video but for some reason my remote doesn't have some of the options yours did which is weird because its a flysky fs-i6
my wizard x220 came RTF... well it was supposed to be RTF. The setup tab in Betaflight reported that the flight controller identifier is BTFL, version 3.0.1. Thanks for your quick help. I am slowly getting this ready to test fly again. I am hoping for this weekend.

Thank you very very much. I had a different flysky controller but I still got it. Very good job.
Dude, awesome job 🤘🏼 much love from 🇵🇷
Thank you taking time to make this video. I learned couple of things. I hope you can make new video for ver 2.1.0.

put baud rate at 115200. works every time. I built my quad but I have a lot of the same parts.

None of this is needed for the rtf model right?
Really noob question how the heck do you get the props on with having all-most no grip on the motors!?
hi, I have continued on setting up my fs-i6. I do not have the same functions in system/setup. My sign on screen is similar afhds2a m01. The rxl is different tx.v1:5.o5V. Problem is I do not have Aux Channels or Output. I haven't gone a further, thought I would see what you think. Thanks
I have the same problem. Any luck with finding a solution?
My motors do not arm and I have noticed that the red light doesn't stop blinking. I have been through all cleanflight setups successfully. I noticed that the red light on your board stops blinking when you plug in the 12v bat. I have same board.
And I guess they updated the flight controller on the wizards since you bought yours
I would like to thank you for this video. I. Was abke to set up everything even with an updated firmware version it all worked fine thanks to you.
To get the flash fireware to install correctly, i held a stapler in the holes with my hand, this seemed to work successfully, if it keeps failing the cause may be the jumper pins coming out.

just got a x220 without receiver @_@ Thank you so much for your time :)

Dope man. Great content
This video is very helpfull! Thank you very much.
I have a pwm reciever will it work with this quad
Show where you have your uart Rx coming out of on the quad
I need to talk cleanflight. I have the SP racingF3 deluxe which has gyro, accel, mag and barometer.

hi tks for reply..... i really made a good job with your video ...so keeping posting !!!...well done
Is there a way to go into the quad in betaflight without flashing the software? I just want to change a few things without redoing all the settings.

Ciao ma quanti canali ha la tua radio?
La mia ne ha solo 6 come
Faccio ad abilitare tutti quegli Aux in più come hai fatto tu?
I was just going to buy a flysky radio to get back into Rd flying. No way that I am able to do all this software downloading and installing.
I don’t think that I can get back into building and flying.🙈
thank you thats what i needed to know
Wait.. isnt Wizard has BeatFlight..Mine has BF. Good video bro. Keep it up
Just awesome.
Can i use speedybee instead?
Will this work with a vendetta
Ciao avrei bisogno bdi configurare il controller come il tuo per pilotare un Mobula 7 , dove posso trovare le istruzioni ? Grazie
I am still using your setup in 2023😅
so thanks for this video
if you guy the RTF kit doesn't it come ready to fly and no programming needed?
In the part where you had horizon and air what is acro called
*This great video is the reason I subscribed to your channel. Thank you!!*
Thanks for the video, I did follow your video and the problem I have is from the esc. Once I plug the battery I don't hear that sound from the motor. can you please help!
OutdoorMentor all of them. . . . I don't know if the problem is in flight controller though. I have naze32 rev5 full.
OutdoorMentor thanks for the quick reply, when I plug the battery power board and flight control comes on but no sound.
Any help to fix this problem would be greatful thanks
do you need a ppm receiver or a pwm??
So when I was doing the firm flash it started making a high pitched noise and then it disconnected and won’t connect again... what did I mess up on.. great lmao
i am having no luck what so ever. on the receiver tab in clean flight, i dont have a Serial Receiver Provider box. i need help. i need to fly.
Better late than never- receiver mode is in the configuration tab.
You have serial rx in ports on?
Is air mode acro mode
Do you know if there’s a way to trim drift out with just the i6X transmitter for a tiny whoop like Mobula7? I found a video on how to calibrate the autolevel with just the transmitter by disarming the quad, then holding the throttle stick up and to the left, then pushing the right stick down one time. But trimming it doesn’t seem to work.
I would try adjusting the subtrim in the radio (functions settings menu).
Very helpful
I went out to fly and nothing happened. Couldn't even arm it. So I brought it back inside and went through this video again.
All my settings are right, but when I connect the battery to the quad, I don't get any response to the transmitter. Also, where your transmitter says ExtV2, mine says SigS1: 10. No idea.
Any clue what's happening?
When the battery is connected, I can see the toggle switches work in Cleanflight, but sticks do nothing.
Is there any reason I would need to flash again?
could this work with the fs-ia6 recever?
Can I do it with speedy bee app
can you please help me i got this drone as a gift for my son but if been trying to test it and set it up but my remote has a error xode 1% or 70 % but the drom and remote are binded thanks for any help
And another thing that confused me I was watching another guy set up his drone and he set up switch D as the arm switch but he said switch d was channel 5 but you say switch a is channel 5 and switch D‘s channel 8 and that seems right but this other guy confused me think you can explain that to
hey,
i have only UART 1 and 2
how come no UART3?
also when i enable serial RX and save ,it pops to off?
gr geert
You're awesome!!!
when I go into clean flight my fc connects and all but i cant select any of the tabs down the left of the screen or the calibrate accelerometor , calibrate magnetometer, or reset settings. i click and they give the visual queue that it has been clicked but nothing happens. the tabs down the left dont even show anything when they are clicked. they get highlighted by the cursor, but cant be clicked.
What is bataflight 3.1.7 and what can it do I'm if on 3.1
I really want to Superlike this video
, but UA-cam is not Tinder :((
Thank you very much!
Ya one question if I buy flysky fs-i6x, can this transmitter connect to uruav ur85 receiver??
Hey! I haven't checked that one, but You can if the uruav ur85 uses a flysky receiver (look for AFHDS2A protocol).
