I’ve been a Jeff Gordon/Hendrick fan since I started watching nascar in the mid 90 but starting this season am switching to 23x11, rolling with Bubba and Tyler
I don't think he is underrated but for sure he is overhated. The reason for this, at least for me, is that there was too much hype about his Cup rookie season just because he was black. The same thing happened to Danica: too much hype just because she was the only woman on the field. The only true thing he did to be hated was that awful wreck at Las Vegas.
@chatruc if you look at Bubba's stats before he came into Trucks, the hype was on par. The hate really started with Bubba after the confederate flag was banned, then it gained more traction in 2020.
He’s not at all underrated, and he deserves the hate, he hasn’t really made a case for people to like him. He races like Dale with none of the accolades.
The stage cautions killed the strategy fun. The first green pit cycle broke up the field and made it interesting. We could have went green from lap 8 to lap 192, it would have been great.
That's what I said since the inception of the stages. Going the way you say, stragegy would be interesting to shorten the first group of drivers who battle for the win and maybe there would be no big one and just a furious fight for the lead. With the actual system, there's no need of 500 miles, we could just run three 20 lap stages.
I am SO glad to hear these things about that Daytona race!! I felt this same way about that race! And feel this same way about all of these race concerning these semi throttle races, thats not a race, its riding to the end
I rooted for Bubba when he was in trucks because he had such a tough hill to climb and I always root for the under dog. I've watched the documentaries about him which always focused on his struggles but NOW I finally get to see the man, not just his story. Turns out he's a really funny, goofy, good guy who is loved by his friends and is a fun guy to hang with. .....I can still root for him as an underdog for a while longer, but his underdog status is starting to fade into memory.....At least one win and the round of 12 in the playoffs is my prediction for #23
They should bring back racing to the line if the track is clear. Racing back to the line should've never left, it should've just bee adjusted to race back to the line if the track is cleared, if track is not cleared field is frozen.
great episode, love not having to wait until friday to watch; was there an issue with Bubba's mic levels or was he just naturally quiet? could barely hear him...
Lol. TJ defending BK is hilarious. He blames everyone else for Brad driving like a clown. If he's around guys who can't drive, have some awareness and drive accordingly.
Maybe the way to fix it is to do like some endurance races: minimum pit stop time from the entrance to exit. Like 40s so they have to stay parked for a little bit more and fuel saving is not a figure anymore.
If someone can put a Chastain manuver on Casey......Also note her amazement that Bubba stayed in one place for more than a few days without having to move into another place thats already been cleaned.
Bubba is good on the show. Just put something in his hands so he will leave his face alone. 😂 He’s like Ricky Bobby. “I’m not sure what to do with my hands.”
@jeffhunt5964 yea I thought about that also. I was too young to have seen many of those races. I'm 36. I remember the 2 car tandem drafting that happened after the COT came out. I know that sucked. But prior to that I remember good races with restrictor plates I think.
Nascar could fix superspeedway racing with a program to take data at the line of each cars position and after 200 laps. average that number out to give them a running Average position. top 5 get more bonus points then 6-11 and so on. This would make them race every lap. Every lap at the line would be important.
I’d pay extra, just give me the option for no commercials! Maybe scroll them across the bottom of the screen. Seriously, just STOP interrupting the race! I pay extra so I can scroll through and watch all the driver cams without commercial interruptions.
Hendrick didn't care either way. Nascar cashed papa Rick's check, so Nascar was gonna make sure a HMS car won. Like with the Xfinity race, they could've kept the race green and finished that last lap. This is just more of Nascar manipulating the race finish to get who they want to win. I guess Denny needs to send a check once a month to Nascar if he wants a championship. On a side note, there was so much cut out from thus version that was in the "radio" version. I was actually looking forward to the bourbon bottles and the the whole drip on the whip comment. And I might have missed it, but I don't remember hearing Bubba talk about #FreddieDrunk.
I think with the cars going much slower when a driver decides to go it looks like they are on steroids so it looks like a crazy move but they're just racing against fifty percent throttle saving fuel
With many drivers saying that can’t see what in front of them…. Spotter school idea….. have the spotter sync in with the running of a simulator with the same screen the driver?????
Definitely a take, but at the end of the day, in most other sports, it's either going to be one team or the other. In NASCAR, it's one team or one of the other 39 teams.
He's speaking from a spotter's perspective. Obviously he doesn't watch the broadcasts, and there's a huge difference from watching on TV vs actually being in the race, as a driver, crew chief, spotter, etc. Even just being at the race as a fan is a lot different than watching from TV
It’s a lottery for who wins but at least Byron someone who’s running for the championship and a 6 time winner last year at least it is not someone who will make an exit in the first round
The video proof that Byron won is that he crossed the start finish under the white flag and the next flag ends the race, the next flag was immediately yellow and they hadn't Crossed a new scoring loop. They did explain that during the broadcast Byron won, no question about it.
If you have bias so bad that you cannot see past it then you clearly won't be able to accept rational visual and physical evidence. It was and is still very clear that Byron won.
@@GameSyns are you not aware that proof has been provided? Theres clear evidence that Byron still won. They provided a picture where the lights just came on and he is still ahead. Don’t you think that Bowman wpuld be contesting it if he thought he was jipped a Daytona 500 win? You conspiracy theorists are questioning something that the loser isn’t even questioning. Sheesh.
Watching the races at Daytona on my box as I was working I knew and knowing that the races would end in tears 😢😢😢😢 pile ups galore no penaltys for ruining the finish and great finishes except a couple of runoffs (racing to the checker flag no caution) and for the second year in a row the crown Jewel ends in a stupid caution. We need clean pack racing like 2022 and at least second half of last year because were in danger of losing classic races in the past years because several drivers sometimes are just fucking up money for the fans to see great endings and more work for the teams to build there cars before the next race. 😢😢😢😢😢😢😢
Remember how getting rid of stage breaks didn't work at road courses, got very boring, well i think Daytona/Talladega/Atlanta, don't need stage breaks, the racing is already exciting & don't need to bunch them back up & then wont be this fuel saving stuff, still can have stage win
The white flag comes out and then the wreck, race over.....so, get over it! NASCAR was thinking safety first, plus it already was a long week. There was a car in the grass, spun out by others going for the win and with all the rain, well, he wasn't going to get out before the cars could make it back around. These Fan's had planes to catch and hotels to get back to. Bubba did a great job getting up toward the front and sadly, the 48 pushing the 24 probably caused the wreck. The #48 can not push other cars because for some reason, either he doesn't know how to line up the bumpers and oftentimes pushes in the wrong places, resulting in a catastrophic wreck.
They should haul all the cars back and finish the final lap. It wansnt betweem 2 people any one left on the field still had a chance because they should have restsrted and finished the final lap racing not under caution. Until they do that this is the Unfinished 500 with no winenr
The trigger guy shoulda had his finger on the button knowing they were gonna wreck any second&hit it as soon as they started spinning,so we coulda got another restart&overtime finish! That was a lackluster finish to a great race! Maybe next week inAtlanta the finish will be better
The "if the leader takes the white flag" rule should not apply within the regulation race. If the caution comes out like it did, go to overtime. Will that wreck more cars? Probably. Will anyone ever call it the Daytona 499 again? Nope.
Its time they take away this pointless rule of no locking bumpers in the Trucks&Xfinity at Daytona/Talladega,it solves nothing, they still wreck,it holds them back on actually trying to make progress&try to pass & go for the win,the7was moving but had to lay off&look what happened
Almost forgot they need to bring back Daytona Speedweeks and have the Bush Shootout and a qualifier race to make the A-Main race and have Mexican and Brazilian series and remake the Dash Series with safety and tougher cages to make races stronger and show the world what clean pack racing what is all about and if crashes some drivers would be penilized for ruining the finish and then bring the ARCA series back to week one and others week two including Duels the Trucks Xfinity and the 500 so it's like the good old days and need it like fucking bad. Let's hope we see clean pack racing at Atlanta this weekend.sorry for afending anybody.
I get it, Griffin probably speaks for every NASCAR fan over 45, but he is 100% the epitome of a jaded guy whobhas been in the sport for too long... Some of his takes just come off as Toxic.
@hutrod7721 There could be more racing and passing instead of wrecking for the win. I think this car has a lot to do with it. The Xfinity had more passing in the racing
28:49 this is why i struggle to watch this shoe sometimes. All Brett does is bash the current start of NASCAR. If you jate it this much, find something else to do.
I think its hilarious "show me proof of who won". Why suspisious they not declaring the actual winner? Like if they got it wrong multiple times in a season then sure. So weird lol.
Bowman did same thing brad dose as far as pushing and it causing a crash But brad dumps people and bowmans thing was just plate racing. Could you show your hypocrisy any more?
With the stage racing, At the end of stage one, they need to park the last 10 cars. At the end of stage 2, park the last10 cars. Last stage is a 20 car shoot out.
That is the worst idea I have ever heard in my life. Hell, if we're gonna do that, why not just have a 40 car shootout at Phoenix for the championship? All points reset. Winner takes all.
Bubba has such good chemistry with these guys. I know bubba doesnt want to do a podcast about nascar but he would be so good at it
Well his Spotter is one of them, the rest are his friends. I'd expect him to have good chemistry with them lol
You are right. Darrell is a quite introverted guy though. He recharges by doing individual things. This would probably tap out his energies.
🤣🤣🤣 Bubba is a racist crybaby. He's another Jussie Smollet. Nobody takes him seriously, but you.
Bubba has to be one of the best guests on the show! Dude doesnt act like a corporate stooge its nice.
So happy it's on UA-cam now! Bubba was incredible i hope he comes on again! He needs his own pod
Bubba needs to be on every week.
Let's go Bubba this is going to be your best season yet keep up the good work
Best episode in a while. Thanks for having Bubba. Love watching him grow. Personality is off the chain.
Bubba should be on more. I love coming here and hearing yall complain to complain. Cathartic lol.
Glad I don't have to wait until Friday to watch these now! Thanks for uploading them.
Have Bubba on more often. Love the insight he brings
I’ve been a Jeff Gordon/Hendrick fan since I started watching nascar in the mid 90 but starting this season am switching to 23x11, rolling with Bubba and Tyler
Can we please get back to victory lane celebrations!! I'm over the front stretch interview!
bubba is insanly underrated and overhated its ridicious

a C Fixed in Iracing haha great one TJ!
I lost it, cause it’s so fucking true 😂😂
22:04 around lap 80 Chase Elliott came on the radio mid run and said this is boring, lol
Every wreck we should see multiple in car cameras that was great !!!!
I like seeing bubba happy and smiling
Brett and Bubba are actually hilarious together
Go get it Bubba. Keep this mindset and show out.
Need more Bubba on podcasts. Good ishhh
Track is 2.5 miles guys. The math is that it would be called Daytona 497.5.

It was funny how the other guys kept giving him a hard time too for Brads actions
Why is this 10 minutes shorter than the podcast version?
For some reason they cut the bourbon part out… WTH dirty Mo and dbc
Hahah yeah Brett must look weird sniffing booze.
Spot on spot off Bubba Wallace is in nascar because of sponsorships not talent
Sounds more like Austin Dillon
Maybe the way to fix it is to do like some endurance races: minimum pit stop time from the entrance to exit. Like 40s so they have to stay parked for a little bit more and fuel saving is not a figure anymore.
If cars have just spun and not wrecked big we should race back
I wanna see Kyle Busch on the show this year.
By far the best plate race with the new car.
If someone can put a Chastain manuver on Casey......Also note her amazement that Bubba stayed in one place for more than a few days without having to move into another place thats already been cleaned.
The picture they showed the 24 and 48 never crossed the start finish line when the caution come out.
12:38 Brett is hilarious XD
How does this “hanging out” for all the laps except the last 3 of each stage and last 3 of the race work with the “100%” rule Nascar has?
Sounds to me like Brett might be spotting for Brodie
Yep!
Damn…. Let’s hope. 8 races? Same as SVG? Brodie has done a bunch of ARCA before.
Bubba is good on the show. Just put something in his hands so he will leave his face alone. 😂 He’s like Ricky Bobby. “I’m not sure what to do with my hands.”
Only solution is a smaller fuel tank, or adding another stage to Super Speedways.
Bigger fuel tank would be better, how much each car starts with is a mystery then to other teams.
Come on Tj. It’s a race not whatever you are expecting lol
Looks alright on tv but we want more HP and speed
Bubba is actually a funny AF
Also!!! Bring back speedWEEKS! Daytona feels like it's lost its luster......it's our biggest race and it feels like nobody really cares
When talking about the truck race they failed to mention Christian Eckes turning the 88 which ruined the 52’s day SMH. ON LAP 6!!
I would like to watch an old daytona race to compare to the newer races. What is a good year to watch? Preferably in the 2000s to early 2010s
A good year would be pre restrictor plate, not the 2000's. Back when car handling really mattered.
@jeffhunt5964 yea I thought about that also. I was too young to have seen many of those races. I'm 36. I remember the 2 car tandem drafting that happened after the COT came out. I know that sucked. But prior to that I remember good races with restrictor plates I think.
1976 and 1979
I don’t wanna be that guy but does anybody else get distracted by Casey ? 😂 She is ridiculously attractive 😅
Bring back the old reaction theater intro.
Seeing a lot of Cup cars that are 1 solid colour. Thats the best looking cars and 5 were in the cup race.
ARCA race at Daytona was really good and side by side for a lot. them races are never like that. the Vent cars were always way faster then the rest.
Nascar could fix superspeedway racing with a program to take data at the line of each cars position and after 200 laps. average that number out to give them a running Average position. top 5 get more bonus points then 6-11 and so on.
