Well done! I've got a '65 122S estate that is my pride and joy. I've also got a few old Amazon related publications I browse through from time to time. One of which from the early 90's does quite a nice writeup on your father's car as well as interviewing him for his tips of the trade. Glad to see his legacy living on. Something to be proud of for sure.
Thank you for the video. Your dad and I are the same age and I have had my 1968 for 52 years….it’s even the same pearl white! Enjoyed your other video of your 123 GT. I was under the impression that in 1968, Volvo went to a dual brake master cylinder? I have the same B20 setup that you have but with Mikuni carburetors. Electric cooling fan next project. Thank you again for the wonderful tribute.
Great video Dec. Interesting to hear the story behind KBY. Just shows you that the humble man can turn out a job as good as, if not better than the professional.
I purchased my Volvo Amazon in memory of my first boss, back in the UK in the late 1960's. He was probably the opposite of your father, in that he was a drinker, womanizer and general hell raiser. His wife owned a 123GT and somehow his wife's family bought a bar, for him to have a job, managing that place, where i also worked. Every evening he would brag to his customers how fast his (actually his wife's) Volvo was and challenge any one to a race to a local beauty spot and back. Most customers were smart enough to reject the invitation but a few accepted and he always returned a good five minutes ahead of any challenger. Impressed me so much that I now own a 122S (couldn't find a 123GT but have many of the upgrades). Love your car and memory of your father.
Your dad would be very proud of you and the amazing restoration you have done on the Amazon AND the perfect engine
Thank you my friend
Beautiful and inspirational. Thank you for doing this. A wise man, your father! 🏆
Thank you my friend… indeed he was, and I’m pleased you enjoyed it ❤️
Beautiful tribute!

Thank you my friend! My GT is a Feb 1968 and just before the 131 variant that went to dual circuit brakes :)
