- Kmart Closing In Williamsport, Pa. Enjoy our last tour of this nicer Kmart store as we walk around and check out what they have left at this former Grant's turned Kmart. Store is to close in February 2020.

You mentioned that the KMart was an old Grant's store and I instantly had a flood of memories of the one my mom worked at (Pontiac IL.). It too was taken over by KMart. Thanks for making this video and the wonderful trip down memory lane.
My local Kmart closed in December so sad to have no Kmart near me now

my mom and dad met at kmart in 1978 started dating in 1979 and married in 1980. theyre still together in 2020. the store they met at has since closed, but its cool because my brother and i both worked at the store where they met. i actually did as my dad and met a girl there whom i fell in love with (until she cheated on me but you know life happens) kmart holds very special place for me in my heart in so many ways. i love that you show these videos man to keep the spirit alive. also my mom and dad love your videos!! next time you visit a kmart (all mine are gone in my area) if you could snag another register light id happily buy it from u as i think it would be a great anniversary present for them. (keep the light of their love alive in a way from where they met) keep on trucking man!!

Only sit down restaurants are required to have public resturants.
There was too much theft/shoplifting taking place, reasoning why the restrooms were closed off to customers

I miss going into one to look for a movie, get my prescriptions and have lunch... NO THANKS TO EDDIE...
I recently visited my local kmart again and everything is being moved to the front. They were selling 4 electric shopping carts for $50 a piece, however they all had "out of order" signs rendering them useless. They were even selling shelves and a special refrigerator from the pharmacy

The last K mart that closed last year by me held strong for years, even when Walmart opened pretty much across from it, but it was all just a matter of time.
I live in South Carolina but born& raised in Williamsport and go back to visit family yearly. I loved this Kmart too. I remember my Great Grammie Switzer taking us to Grants and eating in the cafeteria. Great memories 🥰

I was there just last year. Surreal that this one is closing, too. I remember when Selinsgrove closed, and how outdated everything was. I think Wilkes Barre is still open, but I'm not sure anymore lol
Wilkes barre is shutting down..everything is just like that store.

Definitely a very different looking Kmart can tell it was something else before.Hopefully it won’t stay vacant long looks like the building is in good shape for another business.

hey man I see your videos all the time I work for kmart i have worked for them 19 years this feb I work at a kmart 3040 in Hyannis cape cod I just don't get it any more I,ve seen kmart when thay had 2,800 stores mybe if lampert would sell the 46 kmarts that are left to some that has cash to fix it mybe it could be saved
I never understood why Kmart never replaced that putrid green tile. Every Grants-turned-Kmart store I've been in or seen all has it, even 40+ years later!
This is a former Grants Department Store. Whenever you see green tile and these types of lights, thats a Grant's.

Hi Wallie. Our Kmart in Lockport NY, which closed in 2002 if I remember right, was originally a Grants before Kmart bought them and this Kmart looks almost exactly like our Kmart did and brought back huge memories for me. Wallie, that Kmart could almost be a twin to what ours was being a former Grants. Our Kmart has mostly been divided into a plaza like setting which today houses Office Max, Harbor Freight Tools, Dollar Tree, Steak and Sushl Restaurant and still has some empty space as well. Really enjoy your videos Wallie!!!!!! Looks like Fast Eddie is trying to make fast bucks by selling everything!!!!!!!!

I keep hoping for some cool goodies to emerge at the Kenosha store. All they have are metal racks and bottles of floor varnish...so many bottles of floor varnish!!

I worked at this KMart for almost a year as overnight stock. Man was it some of the most fun times I’ve ever had at a job! If anyone has any general questions about this specific store, I’ll try my best to answer them!

Back in the day, that Kmart had a cafeteria. I would go there in the morning and have breakfast.
With all these stores closing and so many people online shopping things will get worse and one day there will be no where to go and we will never leave our homes except to go to a park or something and who wants to do that everyday...one decade we were couch potatoes and now we are worse sitting at computers and rarely leaving homes!!

The BP on Perry Highway (the corner of Perry and Three Degree Road) is abandoned and boarded up now.

Every store that's closing (Not just Kmart) uses the exact same "store closing" . "Nothing Held Back" signage.
the Lycoming Mall is closing here too all the stores all slowly closing
That's a shame. I used to prefer going there over Susquehanna Valley Mall , but even SVM is basically dead.
While out this way you should've gone to check out the Berwick, PA Kmart (former Jamesway I believe) and/or the Towanda one. One thing I noticed with this recent round of closures is that the electronics section (save WAY overpriced DVD's and Blu-Rays) seems to be completely gone within the first month of the closing sale. At least in previous waves of closures there were some display model TV's left a few weeks prior to closing.

The fact that they allowed him to buy back the company out of bankruptcy to further loot the corpses of Kmart, Sears and every other asset from the combined companies means that nothing will happen to that piece of human garbage.

Been to that location many times going back to the early 70's (thru early 80's). Sad to see. The restaurant was good if I remember right. Don't know if they kept that more recently.

Those magnetic holders that hold expensive merchandise, sadly you can buy the magnet opener online. When I worked for Ross, there was a group of individuals who took 40-50 bottles of fragrance which are kept in those containers and walked right out with the product and hid the containers around the store. I found them and asked how that was possible with out the opener and my manager said they bought it online. Sadly because there is so many people who want to steal, these magnets are online now :( it did not used to be that way.
this store was sold off in late 2018 from sears holdings in what i thought was an effort to save this location. seemed like it was gonna be safe at least for awhile so now i'm confused as to who it was sold to and who made the ultimate decision to close this one.

Just like a kmart but on steroids. Most were close to 200,000 sq ft. they sold every thing kmart / Walmart did but also had massive appliance departments they were the first super centers. Not sure why it failed maybe shoppers weren't ready for that big of a store.
