I just assembled a 10' x 20' x 8' and it's an immediate thought was that the time will surely come when one must consider conversion to a hard shell and just how far to go with it.
Love this. Skeeter I have a Coverpro 10×10 tent shed with 1.25 inch poles. It has taken a beating this first year and a half. My back yard is a wind tunnel (no trees ) and the sun is always on it. I have a humble budget but if you could share what you would suggest to wind proof it with a permanent structure I would be in your debt.
I wanna do this to mine but am worried Itll make it weaker because it will have to hold all the weight of that wood? What're you thoughts on that? Doesn't it worry you those poles might break at some point?
On that particular tent which was older model the tubes are really thick and strong. I have had it up for many many year with full snow loads and I can even walk on it. However this is why I made my own trusses on between the poles to take extra weight
@@skeeterhandyman9572 Thanks for your reply. This is the info I was wondering about as someone else had mentioned using furring strips for the Harbor Freight portable garage. That is what I have. But no HF garage vid had the info. haha.
Good job 👏

Agree....I typically go ten years and then strap and tin them

Great idea!!
So you screwed the strapping down into the metal tubes directly also?
Yes you can either drill pilot holes or use the self tapping screws
