Not not realistic and poorly filmed. yet everything they are listing is the truth. something not found in the rotten spoiled selfish disrespectful children of today.
@@crgaillee I know you wrote this two years ago, but, I hope since then your opinion has changed. Many kids of today are simply different than other generations, but by no means are they bad. I've met many very kind children who want to work hard and help others.
No no no no no.........about everything! You cannot possibly use this in your museum. It is so inaccurate and gives people the wrong idea about what life was like back then!
It’s not real cuz if it was all would be black and white. Also, they didn’t have cameras back then so they obviously have to recreate it! And plus, imagine a man standing with you, recording you for a full day!! People don’t use common sense
Sadly, what could have been meaningful distracted me. The video showed a little girl in shorts, wearing an apron, in a school with no teacher, no students. In each scene, she mimed the activity. I am also a bit surprised that the music used to score this video was not completely period music. The theme from Little House on the Prairie? Perhaps it would have been more prudent to get permission to use clips from the show. I found this to be very lacking.
Tracey, will you forget the stupid pioneers?! Have you ever noticed that there are none of them left? That's because they were lousy hitchhikers, ate coral and took directions from algae! And now, you're telling me they thought they could drive rocks
im not sure this is true- I mean i could be wrong! but she wasant washing anything on the washboard and the schools dont look ike that and does she live alone? ;w; sorry if i sound stupid i can totally be wrong #noHate just curious :>
Ill clothed, Ill fed & dirty( by modern standards). This is a romanticed version without a doubt. Children helped right along side the parents, including being sent bareback on horses & mules, to neighbors, etc.while as young as 3yo. Children had to grow up fast, especially on the fringes of the frontier where dangers were always present.
The house is nothing like a pioneer home, since I visited a real one today! I went to look like a pioneer and see what is was like in a real place they used to live at.
Although I did not live like this, I got to act as a pioneer child during elementary school. It was a field trip. Times have changed. Before, you'd bow and address the teacher as "Mister" or "Mistress" before answering a question. It was all very humble as well!
They never would have used a piece of wood that large in a cooking stove. Small pieces allows one to regulate the heat when baking. I have heard that green wood burns hotter. The bread mixer would be clamped to the table. The Bible was read at school too in those days when they feared God.
never complain again they had no air conditioners, flu shots ,antibiotics, electric, had to make their own soap, had to work hard to clean house, and limited entertainment.
Wouldn't going out dressed like that be equivalent to going out in panties today......
Yup..
Yeah I was thinking the same thing! 😂

This is so not realistic. Literally everything in this video is wrong.
I agree.
+Lexi Vorce yeah, the thing that bothers me most (as a reenactor myself) is the lack of a dress underneath the apron. bare shoulders was a big no no.

bare shoulders????? GIRL.
Lol
One can BET that young pioneer Ladies didn't go around with the back of their dresses open!
A female in her mid- or late teens most certainly would not attend school in this time period.
That depends on what she intended to do with her life and how if she had been held back in school
Some did if they planned to teach school.
I grew up like this on a farm in the 70's. We did get electricity the last few years I was there.

I think this is about a religion though no?
So then what should it look like? What was it actually like?
@@Mrs.J.D.B Little House on the Prairie was more accurate than this.
I'm sorry, but that's not how you'd use a wash-board if you expected to get the clothes clean
You don't say.
She didn't even wash clothes on the washboard
I don’t think this is historically accurate.
wearing just an apron? Washing the washboard?, not cleaning her ears before school? No dress? GET REAL! Not even french nickers? this is far fetched!
just, where did they filmed this? I would love to live in that place
They filmed it at Connor prairie in Indiana it’s a visiting place for many and it’s truly a great experience
Mee too

Guys, remeber, its not a movie trailer. To have a REAL setting like this takes a lot of work. Its a simple video, not a documentray.

How hard is it to put a dress on the kid...and giving her clothes to wash on the washingboard? yeah...veeery hard?
Wait was one of the songs the opening to little house on the prairie?
how about putting on appropriate clothes?
Yeah, she's barefoot.
And wearing pants under that apron. I wanted to show this to my class, but it's not accurate or worth the 3 min.
+Cool Guy The clothing was pretty much all wrong, yes, but I have seen lots of photos of students in one-room schoolhouses that were barefoot.

thanks for telling me about pioneers that helps me a lot because I filled trip today

That log cabin house! No wonder the rich treated the poor like outcasts. Damn!
Nah it’s because they had very little money, back then 100 dollars would have been treated like 1,000
They're right it's not realistic to how children in the 1800s actually lived. If you're gonna do a video about a time period don't cut corners
They would have chalk they would have stencils
