I think that the new diamond league format is bad, I don’t like that the farthest thrower can lose the meet. I don’t mind the only top 3 get the 6th round throw, I think that the way I’ve seen it done at big indoor meets where top 4 get top throw in the 6th round is better than how the diamond league is doing it but I don’t mind reducing the field multiple times throughout a competition, it makes it even more dramatic I think
Hey coach! I'd like to see a video on the F20(intellectual impairment) men's shot put final that recently went down at the Para Games. The final brought quite the controversy when the initial gold medalist, Ziyad Zolkefli, of Malaysia was disqualified alongside two other athletes present in the comp that day. They were disqualified AFTER the competition because they were slightly "late" to the call room before the meet. I find it very unfair that protests and disqualifications were made only after the competition was over. As a Malaysian, I'd like to see a video on the true F20 men's shot put gold medalist, Ziyad Zolkefli, who not only won the competition but the broke the world record multiple times on that day, with a winning throw of 17.94m, which was 60cm ahead of 2nd place. He also set a new national record among able bodied athletes in Malaysia. I'd be so honoured if my request was taken into consideration. Thank you for your time! And great vids coming out as always!!
Picked up shot put after more then 15 years.. now 35 y/o so not much to expect but I still want to be the best I can be. Watching your video's helps me a lot!
Dongmo doesn't look like she gets any power off the right leg, but her glide is so powerful, her block with the left crates a lot of momentum almost like a javelin thrower. As for the Diamond League, how about changing up with a meet or two where every athlete's top three throws are combined for the winning distance?

Reducing the field could add for some interesting competition.

Pretty much everyone agrees the diamond league rules are stupid. You could throw the farthest then round 6 comes and you still lose.
DEFINITELY!

Dane/Trevor, do you have old guys at Powerfest? Don't like the Diamond League approach too much, but I'll watch it cause I can't get enough throws!!
Yes, we do. We had throwing the entire day of PowerFest. That was only one competition on that day.

That's a very interesting approach!
