  • You want the best fight pad available today? Don't buy anything until you've tried this new all button leverless arcade stick. The new Snack Box Micro 2023 is better than the original model in every conceivable way and if you need the perfect portable controller to replace your pro controller or fight stick you'd be crazy not to consider moving to the Snack Box Micro for the ultimate lightweight, high performance fighting game experience.

This seems like the perfect controller to play with Street Fighter 6. Both the game and the new Snack Box Micro are very thoughtfully constructed, it's amazing that we live in a time where the consumer is considered this much by both a AAA game studio and a mom and pop store

I used to live in Georgia, but have recently moved to Alabama not far from the gulf. I’m pleased to say that earlier this week I was able to order one from their site. Unfortunately it wasn’t the woolie one. It was in between the micro and the new two player control panel for my Taito Vewlix. I guess that Vewlix is going to have to wait till I can get around to my street fighter six rebuild of the cabinet. Keep up the good work and thanks for being there.

These controllers are really in demand because I sometimes check the site to see if convex buttons are in stock (they never are) and the micro hasn't been in stock for a while. Hopefully it comes back soon and hopefully they also restock on the heavy metal plates and buttons lol, most things are always out of stock on their site but it makes sense now that they are getting so popular it can be hard to keep up with demand.

I would like to get an official snackbox micro one day, but for now I have transitioned from using an arcade stick to an ergonomic keyboard that helps me position my hands differently, and I have not had carpal tunnel since the launch of SF6, so I just wanted to say that leverless controllers are definitely a great option for people with carpal tunnel or tendonitis issues. Also, with my tiny hands, I prefer smaller controllers with smaller buttons in general. I can't actually reach all the punch/kick buttons when they're all 30mm in size, and I have to shift my wrist left and right, but I don't have that issue anymore.

I actually find the new buttons are not as good as the old ones. I prefer the rough surface of the old buttons rather than the smooth new ones. Other than that, usb-c is a godsend!!!
But I do find that holding the snackbox too close to my body actually hurts me after playing for a while as I have to twist my wrists a little to hold the buttons correctly & that added stress, albeit little, is enough to cause discomfort after a coupe of hrs of play.

  • @ItsInsane21

This feeling of uncertainty and nervousness I have must be the same feeling others have when thinking about going from a controller to using an arcade stick.
It's hard to wrap my head around using buttons with my fingertips for directional inputs. Just because I know I won't be able to translate what I want to do when I first start using one, and I'll be worse at the beginning because it's a whole new way of playing.
I never got used to playing with a stick on my lap, so I used a makeshift table to be between my legs to put the stick on. However, it's cumbersome to pull all that out and my special chair just to play for a bit. So I've been using a controller to play Street Fighter 6. Even though I'm worse and have way more mis-inputs when using a controller, it's just easier and more comfortable to play with a controller because I can lay back.
Would like to try one of these out one day and try to get used to it. Seems really convenient, and with how it's designed, it seems like I'd still feel like I'm playing on an arcade stick. Because I would just be changing what I use with my left hand and still have that typewriter feel of hitting the buttons on the right.

I wish companies like Hitbox and Junkfood Custom Arcades would make all-button controllers with traditional "WASD" layouts for the directional inputs. Because no matter how hard I try, I can't seem to get my muscle memory used to having the Up button be on the bottom. I'm used to a lifetime of playing PC games on mouse and keyboard with the W, A, S and D keys for movement. I'd love to have one of these well-designed controllers but with a WASD layout. It would be great not just for fighting games, but also for arcade games like shmups and beat-em-ups.

Playing everything they're was at the EVO floor. The snack box outshined every other controller. Even the hit box, and the razer.

My favorite is the victrix hitbox. I tend to play with it on my lap so the weight keeps it balanced and doesn’t move, also the quality is amazing.

L3 and R3 should be on the bottom on either side of the middle button so you can quickly access them with your thumbs. In my opinion that would be optimal placement, like having 3 space bars. Left middle and right.

I hope they’ll do a layout like that soon. That style of layout became popular after SF6 launched so I guess we’ll just have to wait and see what JFA comes up with

I picked up the lite version without console support because I know someone with a brooks adapter for locals and figured I can always upgrade later, really enjoying it so far. Already thinking about how I can make it even better.

My setup is tuned but not completely jank or oldschool. I use sanwa sticks with shorth throw bushings and bat levers with sanwa short travel buttons. Its a little touchy, but I prefer response to slop and play. Im not sure I can bring myself to use one of these boxes with a perfectly good keyboard right in front of me.. Maybe one day, but im still having fun.

    People will be like:
Playing fighting games on the keyboard is atrocious, use a controller instead.
Playing with a controller is unauthentic, play with a fightstick instead.
Fightstics are outdated, you know what you should use? A KEYBOARD!

It's definitely the best controller on the market, but they are so flooded with orders, the wait time is really extreme. I have two of them (original art case and new PS5 PCB) and I think its a great purchase if you can wait through their pre-order times.

This and the mpress are always out of stock. I think I prefer the mpress as it’s a bit bigger. But due to stock issues and shipping costs to UK I might have to make do with a fightbox B1 with UFB-UP5. If I can get hold of a wingman FGC then I have more options but those are out of stock everywhere as well.

  • @droogeydroogey8950
    @droogeydroogey8950 Рік тому

i wish these leverless controllers would move away from the 2x4 action button setup. I don't think a lot of people use the 2 "pinky" buttons. Having them repositioned around index and middle fingers would remove the need for lateral movement and realigning the right hand. It would make them much more accessible and easier to utilize, I think.

Hands down, the best gamepad I have ever found is my Versus Fighter Pad, it has a full-fat micro-switch Neo-Geo gamepad style joystick that goes in like 16 directions and feels amazing for tons of games, be it shmups, platformers, top down racers, fighting games and so on and on, even the Sega MD/GEN controllers D-Pad can't compete with it, it feels just so good to use, also has 6 large arcade style micro-switch (mechanical) main buttons and nice clicky shoulder triggers, it's the perfect pad for using with RetroArch.
