I saw Shan and KRS One on stage at a concert in Philly a couple of years ago. Shan could have started something right then, but he rapped along (and laughed) with KRS.I actually think that the resurrected rivalry is cool and good for hip hop, and it can show the new generation that you can never be too old for rapping, the sport of battling, and hip hop at large. And the battle may spark this generation to do their research on when/how the battle began.
+teewhaay ??? Not sure what you mean. If you don't like the battle, then you don't have to listen to it. I think that the battle is good for hip hop. It would be nice if the new cats actually had legendary battles to give us, but they're not built like their predecessors.
suaved That's not what I'm implying. What I'm saying is that Rap Battles is a Catch 22. It may be good for your ears but it can and will cause division. And that's not a good look for the Rap Game. Especially if they're dying to live up to longevity as other artist that do music differently.
The rap game was largely built around battling and competition. It's a way of iron sharpening iron. I can never see battling as a bad thing unless the participants allow it to become too personal.
The Beef was over. Marley Marl and KRS even made an album together. But Shan got in his feelings and tried to dis again, and then on top of that came weak with it. Now it's back on. The battle now is over the latest slight. New day, new slight, new battle. I think it's good for the culture to show these fools what Hip Hop battling is really all about. Hip Hop was literally created from battling and there would be no Hip Hop without battling (starting with b-boy battling, then Emcee battling), so I don't see why some people down with Hip Hop are against battling. I'm only against it when it cease to be about the mic competition and it's wack rappers just trying to dis to get attention, or it starts being about talking about killing each others kids and retardedness like that.
I think that the battle is a good thing! Butt KRS is the wrong target exclamation point leave that Doom alone.. history should show you.. no matter what we think of him personally, everyone that vs him is over for them.. from the old school to the new school.. he was always there like lights and shadows.. more than a LL COOL J.. who's competition had a chance.. KRS always seems to have the unfair advantage of timeless experience & a sheer smashmouth style. at the same time he is always the underdog.. battling KRS=bad career choice.
I’m a fan of KRS but I’ve never understood what all the hype was about. KRS was always an above average emcee to me. An unpopular opinion, I know but I always imagined the emcees I felt would crush him lyrically had he ever attempted to battle them. Rakim and Kane come to mind. So does Kool G Rap. Kris has the energy and he does have above average lyricism but I feel like the three aforementioned have much better lyricism, wordplay, and flow. None of them matches KRS in intensity but bar for bar, line for line, I think they’d clap KRS.
Master Ace one of my all time favourites right there ! 🔥but ya KRS-1 and Shan Battle needs to be put to rest you don't need to be Startin it back up! it was the one of the best battles in history they made up since then so it's over Shan KRS the time is over ! Let the Younghans have their time now.
Steviedee 73 Yeah, man...you see these cats laughing on UA-cam videos together n shit like they're the best of friends, now this. I'm with Ace. The Bridge IS over. 😒
Lol you mean the slaughter happened years ago and any dude that ad libs his own diss song with the dude that dissed him has ended his own career again ... right Canibus!?
thats just Masta Ace option its not a well known fact MC shan on a higher rhyming level then kris could ever be see kris rap like a 9 year old and shan rap like a adult pro people have their option but I show the proof from the way people acts like option is just an option its not a well known fact
maybe Shan was just going along wit da flow to be nice and not seen as a hater. And then one day Bamm! he found his inner voice. happens to a lot of ppl later in life. i love what he's doing!

Master ace did the same thing...he has a diss battle with Boogeyman rapper...I'm not sure... that's a hypocrite
they need to stop or do better cuz both of those records are horrible.
All these has beens need to finally grow up and let the past be the past
I agree with you 100%... Let this shit go already...
cbjrcher1 Don't call legends has-beens. I swear hiphop is the only music genre where the younger generations don't respect the older generation.
