I was diagnosed with absence seizures almost four years ago. I have a great neurologist who has helped me get my seizures under control with the help of Lamotrigine aka Lamictal. It seems like a very interesting job with a lot of benefits that help neurologists learn more about the brain, and find new ways to treat different brain diseases.

OMG..i had epilepsy when
i was a young child through
my early teen years 14
years old..TBH..it just
Ended & never came back
..& now I'm 43 years old with ALOT of issues & health problems..that are endless
....& just recently I've been experiencing MALAISE, fatigue, nausea,stomach pain,everything i eat or drink;can't seem to go down&i would vomit..... overall,i just feel so tired

I was diagnosed with seizures when I was 24. I would have these episodes where I would stare into space, and then I would return to what I was doing. This was going on for about a year, and one day I was at home getting ready for work. As I was getting my clothes on, I had one of these episodes. My mom took me to the hospital. They ran all kinds of tests, and everything was fine. Before we left, I had another episode. They decided to run an EEG, and low and behold, I was diagnosed with absence seizures. I was put on medication. I was first on Phenytoin aka Dilantin. The plan was to take me off of it a few months into it, and I am glad they did. It completely altered my personality. I started becoming rude and snappy. My neurologist then put me on Lamotrigine aka Lamictal, and it has helped me a great deal
