    Lettberg is a fantastic musician, learning all of Scriabin's Piano repertoire is certainly an insanely difficult task, reserved for only the masters.

    No, it is not Ashkenazy. Yes, it is still great.

      I prefer Horowitz 3rd Sonata Ashkenazy for everything else (especially 5th)

    Such an incredible sonata. Some playing I like particularly 2nd and 3rd movements (slight mishap at 12:34). 1st movement lacks the "drammatico" element for me (plus D# instead of Ds in bar 7). 4th movement is over-pedalled too much - sounds muddy in places (with the LH arpeggios).

    She's so very good. Her complete Scriabin solos are a fantastic feat. AND beautifully recorded I might add.

    Fantastic and superb! Very delicate, but with all the madness that Scriabin's music intends. Have you played his Fantasia op. 28?

  • @Milo-fh8zl

    0:20 Why does she play a d# instead of a d natural? It isn't written with a #
    Edit: Even Scriabin himself didn't play it like that.

      @@piano2750 I think it's an issue with different sheet-editions. In my Henle urtext edition, everything is written like in Scriabin's recording. But in edition Peters, there are some different notes and even harmonical changes which sound wrong. (You can also hear something similar in Ugorski's recording, he plays for example a g natural instead of a g# somewhere in the beginning)

    Cannot read music; there should be D naturals (RH and LH) in Bar 7. Glenn Gould made the same mistake. This playing is unrhythmical, and directionless.

    The start is an incredible mix of both anger and despair, which creates a feeling of intense anguish. It's so clearly composed that its like he's putting emotions into music. It sounds ridiculous, but you find yourself actually feeling sorry for the voice that speaks, because you can hear its sadness and pain.

    Scriabin was a complete genius. If he took an IQ test he couldn't not get a genius level result. The consistent quality of his composition is at a level never seen before, he was a undoubtedly a perfectionist as well. He never wrote a piece of music that he himself did not like and admire.

    Una delle più straordinarie sonate della storia della musica appartenenti al primo periodo di scriabin fino alla 5 sonata denominata la gotica ha un armonia molto cantabile nel primo tempo .Molto ostico il secondo tempo con progressioni di ottave ed accordi .Bello il terzo tempo andante cantabile capolavoro

    • @jorelt8141
      @jorelt8141 2 роки тому +3

      I couldn't find anything definitive. It's definitely not supposed to be played. My educated guess would be that it acts as a "grace rest". Perhaps to let the performer know how to feel the rhythm the way Scriabin intended.
