Jacob is such an unfortunately written character a black crew mate with a missing father who will cheat on you come mass effect 3, the only way they could have been more racist is if they made him hold pistols side ways.
What's even funny is that the only time he really opens up to you is when you flirt with him, do his loyalty mission and then stop the relationship before you lock it up. He'll talk more about himself and how he feels and tells you that it's not (kind of) a very good idea to romance him I was very surprised to find out about that

@@kinagrill Nothing more romantic than having the head of a creature created by sentient machines that want to harvest all intelligent life in the galaxy screaming along with your love interest. ;)
Interesting enough, whenever I played my all renegade fem shep, I had her romance and choose Liara over Kaiden and had him (Kaiden) not hate what he did to Vernus or blame Turians as A-holes, and then whenever I did the final mission to chase Saren through the conduit back to the Citadel and took him out. I had Kaiden and Liara with me in that mission, Kaiden was my voice of reason and told me not to save the Destiny Ascension, but it was Liara that told me to pull them back and sacrifice the Ascension with the council on board. Then afterwards, it was Liara that was the one that did the final shot to Saren. So in my head cannon, after I killed Liara's mother, Beneziah, that pretty much hardened her especially going forward whenever she went on her war with the Shadow Broker.
Btw in that choice with Council saving Destiny Acension is not the voice of reason, it's a renegade option. It's a choice between humanity being viewed as "opportunistic" (killing the council) or "altruistic" (saving the Council with 10,000 civilis on the Destiny Ascension). You can do something similar with Ashley. I did a play through as a broshep and romanced Ashley in ME1. Took Ashley and Liara to the last mission and Liara said let counsel die and Ashley wanted them to live. Was weird getting rebuked by Liara because she says "I hope you know what your doing human"
The Kaiden switch is a call back to Jade Empire (also made by bioware) where you can influence your love interest into being their version of a Paragon or Renegade. The bad influence is far more evident there though, to the point where a character's whole personality switches. But I've never tried the Udina one. Guess that means I have to do another playthrough.

I have played these games so much even before the legendary edition and yesterday i saw a cutscene i have never seen before i was so surprised by it. It's on the citadel where you click observe and the squad start to talk about how great the citadel is. So simple but i just can't get over how something so easy to find i missed all of these years. Maybe i did see it before and just don't remember 😅
Surprised how much I'm liking replaying the legendary editions despite beating the trilogy already so much The integrated DLC with the semi finished LE EGM is really enjoyable Also leave it to Udina to think allowing Shepard to go rogue is some sort of hand 🤣
I just want to say I’ve played mass effect 1 enough to have at least 1 character of each class (for the first time).I just did the suicide mission. I went back to the shadow broker’s base to check out more vids and the dossiers. This dlc was pretty fun and did a good job giving the characters more depth. My highlights are learning that Legion is a gamer(hardcore MMO gamer), that almost half of all the men on the ship have bought or at least seen Asari Confessions 26 “True Blue”, and the running joke of the reporter vids. If you read you can understand what some of your squad really like. Things like Grunt learning about human history, to audio books, to what are dinosaurs? Is super funny. As well as the idea of Legion not only being a gamer god who (taunts and is toxic and he accepts being banned for that but, not for his hacking powers) can micro manage so much but, also the idea that legion spent over 70 hours playing a dating sim about Fleet and Flotilla and failing was also gold. All the stuff with the reporter getting punched by aliens is funny (I haven’t punched her) as is a reveal that she might be in a relationship with an Asari even though she preaches about human first ideas. But, I think the best running joke (I could be wrong) is the whole adult videos with Asari that is explored. Like when you fight the Asari Spectre you can find a dude who was watching an adult film featuring Asari. I can only assume that Garrus, Grunt, and Jacob having True Blue in thier history means that they have all seen a form of adult movies. The idea of Garrus watching it on his visor, listening to the audio, and then sniping a merc all at the same time cracks me up. I’m going to to start my next mass effect 2 run tomorrow but, I think I’ll need to make more characters to keep up with all the romance options.
Why Kaidan's opinion about council is renegade one? Saving a few bureaucrats by sacrificing thousands of ordinary people is renegade option, he suggests paragon way.
the charakter morality change also works with ashley if you are a male shepard, just in the opposite direction, in the end i actually had ashley wanting to save the council and liara wants them sacrediced
I had no idea about Mark Meer's wife and I found out about turning Kaidan racist from one of your older videos. However, I've experienced the other three details myself. I can still consider myself a Mass Effect fan.
If you linger around Legion long enough in ME2 then he'll do the Robot Dance. Don't think you ever mentioned that one. Also a neat little thing was in Mass Effect 3 when you do the side mission of retrieving the Elcor Forces from the moon of Dakuuna is that when you turn in the quest to the Elcor at the embassy then at the end is (to my knowledge) the only time an Elcor in the series says a line without first giving an emotional context descriptor.... he just says, "Not, enough." A common missed side quest is the 2 Asari in ME2 that need transport off the Citadel that only appear after you've done both Garrus's and Thane's loyalty missions. You can either give them the forged ID's you swiped going after Harkin, pass a persuasion check with the officer (renegade or paragon), or envoke your Spectre authority to let them through. Unique dialogue with the Asari for each outcome. You can also basically tell them to go F**k themselves lol.
Honestly in my first playthrough I never talked to kaidan, and when he died I felt next to nothing, but my next playthrough made it hurt more when he died. Can't bring myself to choose ashley, but eventually I might have to.
The reason why Kaidan becomes a racist is that a secret dialogue shift happens when you kill Ashley. I heard that it can make affect the other characters as well.
It makes sense since his ancestors died annihilating them. Saving the Queen is like spitting on their bones. For Wrex Rachni arent just some aliens but arch enemies and its very personal.
@@Dark_Voice Yeah, as he says in ME3, it was Krogan blood that turned the tide. Given how long Krogan live-its likely his grandfather was a veteran of the rachni wars. Letting the Rachni return is undermining all the sacrifice that his people made for the galaxy.

I'm so glad you have clicked on the husk head enough times, I do not want that thing on my ship! But I always wondered about it so thank you. Poor radicalised Kaidan 😟 all that for a woman who'll likely dump him for Garrus anyway! 🤪
Renegade Kaiden isn't racist. Everything he said was the truth. In fact, what he was saying is literally the only reason why Shepard was even considered for Spectre-ship. It's the entire premise of why we even have a mass effect series.
#3: I think the Alliance.....not to mention the rest of the crew......would have questions about the wisdom and safety of having a Husk head in the Captain's cabin 0_0
I have the video of what happens if you do Virmire and the comments on Kaidan dying spoiler, neither Udina or Anderson mention him. Thanks for this video, Kaidan struck me as someone who had similar views on aliens (specially how the Council seemed to be throwing humanity to the wolf) to Ashley but since he wasn't as blacklisted as her he had a more open mindset of it, Ashley was blacklisted and as such basically only experience with aliens was on old hates that tended to be from others more than herself. It still pisses me off how little the Spectre status actually matter in terms of story through the Trilogy like, sure there are some good moments where the Spectre status carries weight but, couldn't we have used it in ME2 for something more than a discount?
So something just occurred to me, aren't like *ALL* of the companions in a BW RPG more or less just copies of the companions from SWKotR? Maybe even as far back as Baldur's Gate? Sure names, faces and voices are changed, but I've noticed that in each game I more or less play my characters the same way and the companions I take with me rarely changes, unless I'm after specific dialogue or maybe a unique quest option that requires a particular companion. Might make for an interesting video... *wink, wink*
I didn't know you could take the husk with you, but I did find out it could explode lol I kept messing with it during dialogue because I found it so damn funny and when it just popped I was very surprised
There's another interesting Kaidan fact that only happens if you romance Kaidan in ME1. So on Mars, after seeing what Cerberus did to one of their soldiers. (After you disable the giant turrent that's firing on you.) Kaidan will ask Shepard if that is what Cerberus did to her. Shepherd Asks Kaidan how he can compare Shepard to the Cerberus husk hybrid and once Kaidan is finished talking you're given the option to break up with him on Mars. For me, this is more brutal than breaking up with him at the citadel because there's no do-over. You do this and you're locked out of his romance for the rest of the game. Would love to hear your thoughts about this one day. Or if you've already made a video about it, I'll watch that.
I almost 100% agree with this view point and I've actually done this a couple times. The only thing I have to add is I don't believe you are completely locked out of the romance because you can buy wine/flowers for Kaidan when he is in the hospital and it will rekindle the romance. I accidentally did this and had to be super mean to him to make it firm I DON'T WANT TO DATE YOU. Lol
Did you already make a video of what happens during the game if you dont retake the spectre position? or how it would be to make an 'anti-alien' run and how much that run will be affected?
Here's another detail.. Miranda played and voiced by Yvonne Strahovski. Kal Reegar voiced by Adam Baldwin Had Bioware also cast Zach Levi in the game. We have ourselves a reuinon from the tv series "Chuck."
I accidentally discovered the udina dialogue when I was just messing around in the citadel Honestly sometimes I wish there was a "slap him" option with some of the crap he says But Anderson takes care of that for me later on thankfully
Ironically, playing Paradigm and taking Gary's and Liara to the final mission is funny, because he basically walks back all his talk about finding the best solution, by advocating to let the council die.
I think there another thing with the head, Ok think I can heard it during the citadel dlc, went we aboard the ship, we can see the hamster and all our stuff, maybe I was mistaken but I remember hearing the head screaming
You should return to the citadel after every story mission in Mass Effect one new side events pop-up and the stores update with leveled gear like the spectre weapons from the c-sec vendor.
A few more details you might have missed. In ME2 during Tali's loyalty mission the Quarians refer to Sheppard as captain Sheppard. The player has a speech option to correct them and say that it's actually 'commander' Sheppard. However; ages old Naval tradition says that the skipper of an active vessel shall be called captain regardless of that officer's actual rank. The Quarians are correct. Sheppard, being the ranking officer on the Normandy, would never be called commander..especially by the crew. in ME3 we meet up with Captain Bailey again and he informs us that he's been promoted to commander. Uh, not exactly. Since a captain outranks a commander that would actually be a demotion. Later on if we visit Bailey in his office he'll talk about how he didn't want the promotion, but appreciates the raise in pay. Uh, again, no. The pay grade for a commander is O-5, the pay grade for a captain is significantly higher at O-6. ...and don't even get me started on the number of stripes on the uniform shoulder boards. They're all over the place and mostly wrong. We can only hope that Bioware does a little more homework for ME4.
Shepard to the Alliance Military Database VI - We'll Bang, Okay? Speaking of details that are funny.... ME2 loyalty missions is nearly 100% about Daddyissues. Tali? Dad did bad, Geth now rampant. Jacob? Dad did bad, now sexslave owner on crashlocation planet. Miranda? Dad did bad, made another genetic female-clone sister like Miranda herself whom Miranda stole away with. Thane? Reverse concept where son is about to do a bad, Thane now needs to stop him from becoming a murderer. Jack? Well, less daddyissue and more 'blow up only place she knew of as home most of her childhood', unless you see Illusive Man as a fatherfigure of sorts. Samara and Morinth is like another tune on the same level as with Thane and Kolyat... just more 'kill the daughter'.
Nice done, once again you managed to find one detail, that I missed... I didn't know number two :) That's funny... So Shepard can kill his own wife, that's nice at the dinner table ;)
In no way. They degraded him to merely a plot tool, so why bother. The only alignment that carries to ME2 is Garrus's, and it's for the sake of one to two lines
I have a question I've been watching your videos on Mass Effect and I can't remember which video it was but it had something to do with the asari that you free from the plant on Feros. I seem to remember one of your videos mentioned something about running into her in ME2 or ME3 and her causing problems if you let her live. Can you tell me which video it is? I don't want to have to go through your entire catalog of videos to find it again
Shepard's voice-actor is married to Belinda Cornish? That makes him even more of a badass he allready is! Gives his "we'll bang, OK?" even more meaning, him being quite the romantic soul... 😏

2:38 he's got ME 1 Kaidan haircut... and he is Canadian too
I have the video of what happens if you do Virmire and the comments on Kaidan dying spoiler, neither Udina or Anderson mention him.
So far every time I said them they can shove .... I refused :D Roleplaying my inner pouting child hard :D
@@karelchrastina5655 ?
I feel everyone could be excused for missing literally anything pertaining to Kaidan...
I discovered the Anderson and Udina post-mission conversation by accident on my first playthrough
If you take the husk's head onto the Normandy, you can hear it in the background the Citadel DLC when you approach the elevator to fight your clone.
AHHHHHHHHHHHH, that little bastard scared my space hamster, (Yes, I named my hamster Squeak)
There will never be another game like Mass effect 1!
You know you did good when your Paragon moments rub off on Garrus, and now Tali wants you to kill the council.
Omg the husk screaming at your space hamster 😆😆
And so it begins.....*laughs in xLetalisx*
Belinda also does Tali’s “moanovers” (as Jennifer Hale calls them) during the OG ME2 romance scene
Kal Reegar voiced by Adam Baldwin
Had Bioware also cast Zach Levi in the game. We have ourselves a reuinon from the tv series "Chuck."
I accidentally discovered the udina dialogue when I was just messing around in the citadel
Honestly sometimes I wish there was a "slap him" option with some of the crap he says
But Anderson takes care of that for me later on thankfully
Ironically, playing Paradigm and taking Gary's and Liara to the final mission is funny, because he basically walks back all his talk about finding the best solution, by advocating to let the council die.
4:20 - The "Later" finally happened.
Kaden Xenophobia is new to me, awesome covering this one.
I didn't know certain squadmates behaved differently depending on what you say to them... that's actually really cool
If you interact with the hamster too much the Husk head gets jealous and scares him away over n over until you interact with him.
I think there another thing with the head, Ok think I can heard it during the citadel dlc, went we aboard the ship, we can see the hamster and all our stuff, maybe I was mistaken but I remember hearing the head screaming
10:03-10:08 Wrex briefly forgets he's supposed to be a good guy
Just a hood FYI Dan. Getting "ganked" is getting robbed. Not shot.
Wow Kaidan is so naive. And Shepard is ruthless 😂
I want to raise Garrus to be a Bad Boy.
You should return to the citadel after every story mission in Mass Effect one new side events pop-up and the stores update with leveled gear like the spectre weapons from the c-sec vendor.
I just assumed everyone made the husk head explode.
when I played The head exploding scared the every living shite outta me 😂😂😂😂😂 (added note: That poor Hamster!!!!!)
In Star Wars a commander outranks a captain in the Imperial Navy.
Drove me crazy while reading “Thrawn” 😂
I never choose to save the council because the cutscene before make it looks like they were already ded
man, I don't know everything about kaidan. every time I want to learn something about him, he's a radioactive crater.
Mass Effect 1 still could have used significant gameplay enchantments... Because when you jump into Mass Effect 2 that stuff is 10x better.
Nice done, once again you managed to find one detail, that I missed...
I didn't know number two :) That's funny... So Shepard can kill his own wife, that's nice at the dinner table ;)
Sorry honey! You worked for Saren!
Wow! Kaidan literally goes from adorable to Ashley Williams... And some people have the nerve to say he's boring.
I wonder how many play throughs it takes on average before people actually put Udina on the council, probably only to check the changes
Did somebody say calibrations
I laughed my ass off when that head exploded in my game
How does the Kaidan part effect the sequels?
In no way. They degraded him to merely a plot tool, so why bother.
The only alignment that carries to ME2 is Garrus's, and it's for the sake of one to two lines
"Classified information requested, eh?"
I let the council die in ME1 and chose Anderson as the councilor and didn’t get Spectre status offer.
2:49 why does this screen look so different!?
*I play this on the 360 it looks way different*
In mass effect two it’s stupide we have to be a lot in a paragon for use spectre option
I knew about all of them, but hey I finished entire trilogy for like 15 times so...
Makes Kaiden hate aliens bang Thane or Garrus in the next game
GREAT SUCCESS!
On the other hand, if you're a paragon male shepherd romancing Ashley, she suddenly isn't rascist anymore at the end of ME1
Billy Bob Thornton will play Dr. Bryson in the movie.
I Always love these sorts of vids. cus.. y'know.. im oblivious XD
Lol
Shepard's voice-actor is married to Belinda Cornish?
That makes him even more of a badass he allready is!
Gives his "we'll bang, OK?" even more meaning, him being quite the romantic soul... 😏
I still haven't seen the Paragon Ashley dialogue at the end of ME1. Does anyone have this?
And people blame me for leaving Kaidan back at Virmire for the greater good...
man big Dan. I thought I knew Mass effect in and out, but thanks to your vids I'm learning new things every now and then. The big shocker for me was that you can turn kaidan in to a space racist! WOW!
Bioware just doesn't make em like this any more
