Shepard: I'm going to doom the Krogan to extinction, I'm sure my best buddy Wrex won't mind.
Especially since he already attempted to to get the cure no matter the cost in ME1 and you know his reaction if you ever try blink in the wrong direction. Actually it is amazing(and horrifying) thing that you can go fully renegade and wipe out not just 70% of your squad in ME3, but also an entire species (geth/quarian, krogan/rachni) in addition to unique specimen and species that you already have killed/put on the brink of extinction(thorian, good part of batarians). Plus giving up to the Reapers (choosing to repeat the cycle) thus destroying anyone except for the Yahg(?)
Except the genophage is not going to result in Krogan extinction. In fact, genopphage survival rate i.e. 1 in 1000 eggs hatch a healthy kroganling is a stable sustainable growth rate for their population - just as long as they stop all that internecine clan warfare.
@@manofwarb Yes it will, they have only 1% chance of reproducing. They are basically a dead race with the Genophage, they have female camps(basically breeding camps) just so they can squeeze a century or two before completely dying off. They can stop all the warfare tomorrow, hell they can even clean the radiation of their planets etc etc, it won't matter, if they can't reproduce, they will die.
@@manofwarb well we don't know the exact numbers of Krogan survivors after Omega /Palaven/Earth battle /Tuchanka bomb explosion /skirmishes with the Reapers /Cerberus on Tuchanka. So if they were struggling with genetic Diversity before all that than maybe they won't have numbers necessary to survive (to reproduce at ME1/ME2 levels at least). Plus if you go down to the path of directly supporting Rachni then Krogan face extinction even on they own home planet. So yeah, ME3 is a genocide simulator I guess)
@@romanzusman2892 Krogan genetic diversity is already very low, since the only trait that was self-selected for, was the ability to survive the genopphage. It was why Okeer built Grunt - so that he can pass on strong genes to the next gen. And even with that low genetic diversity, they still naturally evolved past the genopphage. So, even if say a few thousand survive, they can pop out a few thousand over a thousand years. And then continue to steadily grow. The only reason krogan desire higher numbers of children quickly, is so that those children can be thrown into the next war they fight. If they produce too few to form an army in a decade, that will deter them from instigating any conflict.
As for the raachni, they seem to be happy on the irradiated surface of Tuchanka, while the krogan mostly live underground. As long as the two sides keep out of each other's way, no one should be at risk of any further culling of their numbers.
Shepard wasn't the only one who regretted some of these choices.
I never felt bad about having a new relationship in ME2. A) Shep died, B) It's been two years, and C) Liara shoots you down about getting back together when you first run into her on Illium. As far as I'm concerned Shep's a free agent at that point.
Right?! I was so dissapointed by Liara's ME2 "romance". Like, yeah, they kiss once IN A DLC but otherwise...? Doesn't feel like they're together anymore. 😕
Same with Kaidan. He shuts you down on Horizon in ME2. You're free after that imo lol
But she didn't though, she kisses you and says it's good to see you, but just can't accompany you in the Normandy
@@clarencewalters338problem is that that's it, there's nothing more to it, and even in the Shadow broker DLC you can just kiss again and invite her to the Normandy ONCE, nothing more
@@segevkrespi8609 lmao no? It's implied they do the down and dirty in LOTSB, just far less animated than in ME1
11: Betraying Tali at her hearing. The aftermath conversation is heartbreaking.
Which then also leads to her and Legion dying in ME3...
@@BMJgunneror just Legion
You forgot drinking Krogan liquor at the Citadel.
And the stuff on Omega.
That Thane jab from Liara hurts.
Where's the lie though
Daaammmmmnnn@@cave_hag
Liara definitely has some choice words for who ever you cheated with. My favorite is her line about Garrus. Still makes me laugh out loud.
my fave is thane, "dying mas wife" "oh shit I just died of cringe.
It both makes me giggle while also feeling painfully guilty bout it… I don’t like shade thrown at Garrus and most certainly don’t like cheating
Lines about Garrus or Tali are funny, the one about Thane is straight up vicious
@@feris2137my jaw literally dropped at the thane line, holy shiiiiit Liara
Something I love in the Take down the Sky DLC with Balaac.
The cutscene you get of him threatening to, and the following through and killing the hostage for the info.
Which shows you that he doesn't do idle threats.
So you don't go into the choice thinking he's bluffing. You know he'll blow them up if you force it
True, which is why killing him or shooting him (in which case he disappears until ME3 is the right choice
My favorite one is where Shepard says: I care about you, Ash... MIRANDA!.. DAMN IT!
Wait a second...
Good to see a true fan of this art series 😏 (actually called GAMER'S POOP)
That last line by Liara about you cheating with Thane is brutal 🤣
You forget Shepard shooting the star child and dooming the whole universe to an reboot. 😂
Worth it.
Considering that the next cycle wins against the reapers, it's worth it
I prefer the one where he throws the star child out the window.
So satisfying, though
I did that on accident. Most legendary oops ever 😅😅😅😅
I love the eyeroll when she talks about Ms. Lawsen *lol* Great video as always ;)
Shepherd: sleeps w/Morinth
Also Shepherd: “Illusive Man, Miranda….would you mind doing that…uh, Lazarus thingy again?”
I can already imagine what Shepards reaction would be after surviving Morinth:
Shepard: “YOUR HORRIBLE!!! YOUR AN IRREDEEMABLE MONSTER!!!”
Morinth: “Oh-ho what took so long… IDIOT!!!”
Morinth flat out gets the entire galaxy destroyed for a 10 second hook up
Well cap. Anderson could have hooked her up with Saren before he had became a Reapers 'tool and make it so much easier for the whole Galaxy)
.....am.. am I the only person that actually likes hearing more character lore?
Edit:yes, I am referring to Ashley's family talk, I found it interesting
It's always a good day when Big Dan uploads a Mass Effect video
Jacob is so forgettable that the cheating dialogue seems like a last second addition.
Then if Shep cheats on Jacob in ME 3, he handles it really poorly, even going as far as to use a racial slur if she cheated on him with Garrus.
@@JokeCubed and that’s why everyone hates Jacob
@@essentiialz There are many reasons why everyone hates Jacob. That is just one of them.
@@JokeCubed yes I agree I always treat him like shit even if I’m a Paragon lmao
@@essentiialz I think the main reason for me is that everyone else on the Normandy has a reason for being there. In ME 2, Grunt and Miranda are literally created to be perfect genetic examples of their respective species, Tali is a tech savant even by Quarian standards, Mordin is a genius and a badass, Samara has even powerful Asari biotics running scared, Jack is the most powerful human biotic in the galaxy, Thane is the best assassin, Kasumi is the best thief and Zaeed is the best mercenary, and Garrus is basically the Batman of Omega and Legion is an actual living, friendly Geth. Even your non-squadmates, Chakwas is the best doctor and Joker is the best pilot.
Jacob is just a dude, a soldier, there's nothing he can do that couldn't be done by someone else. When you first meet him at the beginning of ME 2, the Illusive Man says something like "He's former Alliance, one of the best." Shepard should just say, "No he isn't. I've never heard of him, Hackett never mentioned him, Anderson never mentioned him, Kahoku never mentioned him, Kaiden and Ashley never mentioned him. If I haven't heard of him, he isn't one of the best."
I actually came up with a backstory for Jacob in my head that makes more sense and makes him seem a lot cooler, so I like to just go with that.
I don't care what people think, I really like Ashley. And yeah, the Quarians really hit in the feels. And also, always thought it was a shame you couldn't romance Dr. Chakwas, I like her, and she has a really pleasant voice.
Do you like grannies?
Yeah, I honestly really like Ashley as a character as well, I like her as a character because she’s a flawed and compelling character who actually does grow from ME1 to ME3, if you treat her well enough and especially if you romance her!
@@StarWarsGeek_03 I agree with both of you. Ash is a dynamic character with a compelling character arc. Her dialogue during the coup is much more realistic and the stakes feel much higher. She even has her own personality, including a fling with James if Shep doesn't romance either.
Kaiden is just there, static, like a bump on a log, until he cooks you a steak that you don't even want to eat without hot sauce. I genuinely do not understand why so many people prefer Kaiden to Ashley.
Not gonna lie, kinda thought I was the only person that liked Ashley.... Feels good to know I'm not the only one.
@@ZachBlackforest yeah, I know how you feel.
I’d have made number 7 “not securing peace”. Legion really does a lot to help you. He even helps the Quarians survive the battle. Granted you might wipe them out with the destroy ending but you don’t know that at the time.
Both in ME2 and 3 Legion acts suspiciously (Shem can also accuse him/it/them of lying). If you act without hindsight and choose "better safe than sorry" then the only option is toasting the toasters.
@@mateuszslawinski1990 they are all looking out for themselves and no they never had intent to harm you otherwise legion could have doomed the galaxy by making sure shepard dosent walk out of a room full of geth primes.
and also no if you toast the toasters you are dooming the galaxy to an eventual ruin as stated by catalyst.
it is not far fetched as protheans were very very skeptical and wary of a.i., leviathans made catalyst to break the cycle between organics and synthetics.
the only way to win the eventual war against ai is to have geth and edi with you which shepard has influenced with his morals to like socializing with organics because we do not know what the next ai will be like.
and putting heavy sanctions dont do crap unless you are a very strict regime because ryder and cereberus already were doing a.i experiments and if they can do it you bet salarians would eventually try it.
'Yes, you came back. And now Garrus is doing a lot more than just calibrating the Normandys guns.'
He sure is.
After defeating the reaper on Rannoch, I didn't have a choice but to side with either the Geth or Quarians. It was upload the code or destroy the Geth. I had to start uploading the code in order to get the paragon option to make peace between them.
Close.
i like how liara roasts male Sheppard when he romances jack and femshep when she romances garrus, 5th degree burn level savagery and i love it XD
My first walkthrough of mass effect. Tali died in the suicide mission. I did side with the geth. So killing the quarians didn't bother me.
Funny I have been replaying this game again to see all the results of the choices. Loved the video.
I like listening to Ash blabber on the same way I ask Leliana to repeat her stories. It's wonderfully immersing.
I've missed your Mass Effect videos. So glad you posted this...nice one! Thanks! 🙂
That “trying to replace a dead man’s wife” line was cold as fuck. But also super in character.
Hey Dan! Thanks for all your ME videos, love watching all this rare stuff and learning more about my favorite video game! Do you know of any similar story driven games? Galaxy wide threat, choices matter and stuff with ending like synthesis which I love btw. Thanks!
Calling the reapers "Robotic lobster" cracked me up reminds me Joker calling the Geth ship a cockroach wasp thing lol
On my insanity playthrough and feel stupid because I didn't get the best light armor in the game since I chose Adept. I have the best weapons possible though, Insanity is really easy now. I was able to max out Wrex and Ashley and feel unstoppable.
damn YT has been hiding your new videos from me lately glad It threw it in when I checked my feed. Feels Like I haven't seen you in forever
yo glad to see some more Mass Effect videos. In the future could you do some more KOTOR and Fallout New Vegas ones too?
I honestly was expecting a laugh track in this lol
"Robot lobsters?" I've heard space squids, but I've never heard anyone compare the reapers to lobsters, lol.
Well they look like big flying cockroaches to me, lol
Zoidbergs people
Nah. The worst regret moment was bloring up that mass relay in ME2 (to stop the reapers using it) and killing 300,000 batarians. That was agony.
Yeah, I wish it was at least a million.
I guess only some videos are good enough to enjoy with an ice coffee
8:40 Garrus calibrating even in romance xDDDDD
Gotta take the right aim, would be a shame to miss and waste a shot.
Big dan when are you going to do more live streams of mass effect 1 legendary edition it's been soooooo long.
0:49 the best response ever
The line from Liara, about Garrus doing more than just calibrations, has me crying😂 8:42
Shepard: I'm not gonna listen to my romance decision and save the Geth, therefore eradicating her people.
Tali: Oh keelah, I'll be over there at that ledge, ready to game over myself.
I never heard that now garrus is doing more than calibrating :):):)
i got up to the bait part and my need to play kicked in lmao
Laura’s jabs were a treat!
Lol Liara accusing Garrus of always calibrating 😂
Punching the reporter is hilarious.
Funny enough I never managed to date anything in ME2. Makes me think I have missed the timing when to engage in smoochie talks? But at least the Shadow Broker encounter with Liara went properly well. But that doesn't count as a date? Weird.
It reminds me of persoma 5 royal during valentines day if you romance more than one then you get jumped by both of your romantic interests
I love how Jacob is such a boring character that Liara can't even think of an interesting way to insult him like the rest.
lol 08:40 .. "Garrus is calibrating more then the normandy guns ... "
I love the video, but on another note I was wondering if I should get Elden ring, it would be my first souls game and wanted to know if it would work on ps4. Or maybe bloodborne
Elden Ring is fine on PS4 but was made with next gen consoles in mind. Whereas Bloodborne was an early PS4 title.
Both have different gameplay styles. Elden Ring might be better if it is your first ever soulsbourne game.
@@MrUn1versal appreciate that!
I never minded hearing about Ashley’s family.
I love renegade runs
#1 not punching the reporter
I love punching the reporter. I never get tired of it. I punch her in Mass Effect 2 too
Asking about Ashley's family made Virmire the easiest decision in the game.
Me listening to Liara's comments about Shepard romancing other characters in ME2: Haha these are petty but funny remarks :)
Liara: Yes you came back, and now you're trying to take the place of a dying man's wife!
Me: O______________O
Liara took no prisoners on that one lmao
TBH I wasn't disappointed in attacking Balak.
Better those engineers than many more casualties.
Definitely. Can't let a guy who tried to kill millions of people get away. Somebody has to make the hard decisions. If Balak had hundreds of hostages I'd still attack him.
After Killing her whole race
That Paragon option is just salt on a wound 💀
These games are so good!
8:12 well according to the chronology of this example he already did
the romance with Jacob is still missing🤣🤣
I think punching reporter is funny...but I always choose supporting Rex!
Why is asking about Ashley's family bad?
That’s what I’m tryna figure out. That’s one of her best conversations
Who the hell is Balak? Never heard of him.. never did his mission... countless playthroughs... was this a late dlc or specific to legendary edition?
In the event that you haven't played Mass Effect 1 again in the past year I'll tell you.
In Mass Effect 1 theres a DLC where a bunch of Batarian slavers get their raid hijacked by a Batarian terrorist named Balak that is planning on crashing a massive asteroid into a huge Alliance Colony.
You get this DLC (as well as all the other DLC) for free in Legendary Edition.
@@anthonyrodriguez8788 Ahhhk thanks! Haven't played Legendary edition yet.
@@rohitrevankar7674 if you ever play through Mass Effect again I would highly recommend it, not only is it the first time we ever see the Batarians but it has some really interesting consequences in Mass Effect 3 if you play it right in both the base game an one of the DLC's.
I did not regret kicking the shit out of balak. I don't deal with terrorists.
I regret that shepherd had choices at all...
Number 11 romancing Jacob
"asking ashley about her family" that made me laugh so hard xD
The first time I did that, I really appreciated the Williams family backstory and how it fleshes out her character, found out that beneath the specieist shell, is actually a rleatbale and quite likeable interior and then. she. never.stopped... TALKING.
I have a galaxy to save Ashley, please keep it short.
Hey you were the one who wanted to know about her family life.
You assume I regret flirting with Morinth. Bedding Mass Effect's version of a succubus? Hell yeah.
"lieutenant" williams?
Imagine if Shep said he couldn't make it to Sushi with Joker... would of been interesting...
You know what would have been interesting? If you didn't spell "would of". I mean, was your mother your sister or what?
@@Anvilshock lol I sure hope not. Would of been a weird upbringing.
@@Mulluns Looks like hope is not going to help you much here.
@@Anvilshock Hasn't been for a long, long time.
@@Mulluns I can see that, Captain Obvious.
My instantly regretted was break up with Miranda. After seeing her reaction….. I just can’t.
So many paths in this game are just completely unacceptable.
Remember: male Shep punches female reporter -> you’re an incel
you ask someone about their family, it is to be assumed you are actually interested. so the blame for that is on you. I had no issue with it. nor, I expect, did anyone else with a reasonable, healthy way of looking at things.
I instatly regret in ME legendary that did not play the Bring Down the Sky mission before going to Ilos. In the original version I could do it after saving the citadel, but in the Legendary I cannot. So now I have to live with the fact that the batarians succeeded. (I dont know if it come back later in some form or not).
+1 Instant regret: do not save the Grissom Academy in time. If you want to do it too late, EDI just saying that Grissom Academy does not respond anymore (or something like that) and you lost Jack and all the students.
Also Jack becomes an enemy for the second-to-last mission of the game
Shepard can't regred the "Morinth experience" because it costs him his life imediately.
I wasn't even trying to romance Ashley during my most recent playthrough of ME1. The confrontation scene between her, Liara, and Shepard still triggered for some reason. Ashley pissed me off, so I let her die on Virmire.
keelah se'lai
I don't think Shepard would regret attacking Balak. After all, Katie had earlier let her own brother die in order to keep Shepard's presence on the asteroid secret. Shepard would instead think that Katie would understand why she had to be sacrificed too.
10:52 Why do you think Ashley or Kaiden tends to die at this point. It is because of how they treat Shepard, I don't need my mom in a videogame aswell which is why I tend to execute Ashley and Udina.
And the thing youd have regret the most is not romancing tali, because she is bestgirl
You'll get the scene where Liara and Ashley demand you pick between them even if you don't pursue Ashley. If you talk to her like twice even she'll just automatically assume you're dating
8:51 Jacob? really? I mean there's a full video about how bad of a character he is
The title made me burst out laughing. ROFLMAO! And Zoltar makes his return!!!!!
1. OMG YES!!! Who would have known she was such a girly girl!!!!!
2. If broshep were able to romance Kaiden in the first game, I"d laugh so hard if they had that scene with Kaiden and Liara and Ashley just sat there eating popcorn!!!! ahahahahahahah!!!!! i'd laugh in all caps but i've already laughed till it hurts.
3. OMG YES LOOOOOOOOOOOOOL poor shep can't get a break!!!
4. Morinth probably convinced herself each time that it would be different. And tried to convince her partners/victims otherwise.
5. OOOOOOOH DOWN SHE GOES!!!!!!! AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!
6. YEEEEEP though only if Wrex and Eve are dead!!!
7. I think this is more spectacular than Wrex going down in a hail of bullets.
8. I laughed so hard when Oxhorn did this with Jack. I kept yelling in the chat YOU'RE GOING TO BE IN SOOOOO MUCH TROUBLE OMG!!!!!
10. No idea you COULD lie to Kaiden or Ashley about being in Cerberus.
So, we’re going from being bored by Ashley’s family stories, to causing the death of your squad mate while dooming their entire race to extinction. This list runs the whole gamut of consequence severity, doesn’t it?
Honestly, considering Liara was okay with Ashley, the DEVs screwed up by not letting us have Liara and Kelly in ME2.
I should receive an achievement for doing what, I guess, most to all others never really did. Stick with Ashley Williams to the end.
Achievement Unlocked: [Straight-Edged Princess]!
I’m not comfortable with how the word “instantly” is being used here 😂
I REGRET NOTHING!!!!
While a lot of the renegade options are outright evil and cruel, I gotta say that everyone should at least try to go for a 'scorched earth' full renegade playthrough at least once. Because full renegade Shepard is absolutely hilarious a lot of the time. You know... Besides the innocents murders, genocide and such.
Is it really instant if it took the span of two-three games to see the consequences? Lol
- ...I would have actually loved meeting her family. Same with Garrus'.
- Honestly, I never am a fan of "cheating," both in fact and fiction. Still, Geralt x Yennefer rules! The Last Wish must be fulfilled! (Not to be confusing with the Puss in Boots sequel.)
- It's not my fault! It's the fault of circumstances!
- I always kill her, so I don't ever plan on having regrets.
- I don't know, always talking to the IGN newscaster is more wincing.
- *I should go.*
- *Same as above.*
- Eh, I never Romance her much in my runs. Not because of hatred, but more for not following the majority.
- Honestly, am torn on this scenario, for I like both outcomes enough to make me want to diversify outcomes.
- Will almost say the same to talking to Kaidan instead.
I hate where you are just nice to Ashley and she thinks you like her. I’m glad she is the most left on Viremire
No she isn't, most people leave Kaiden behind.
Also Kaiden does the exact same thing.
Perhaps the regret around Morinth was at once one of Shepard's biggest possible mistakes and the one that was regretted the least amount of time.
Why is C-Sec so awful? The Citadel gets invaded so easily multiple times.
With any of the relationships from Mass Effect 1. They have no right to be mad at Shepard for persuing someone else. They literally break up with Shepard in ME2 upon first meat up, and Then have the nerve to complain ME3. I wish there was an option where Shepard is allowed to scold them about that regardless if they are renegade or paragon.
"Liara was a better choice anyway"
Strongly disagree with you in that,
but hey, whoever rocks your boat.
Same. Asari tit skin may look nice, but that's about as deep as it ever managed to pique my interest for.
👍🏼
