13k/y ins premium feels a little high to me but it is obviously working out for you which is good. The shopper in me would want to hunt for a better price on the same coverage.

Honestly...this is one of the best videos you've posted. Giving real numbers is what we needed from someone in your position. It gives the little guy a realistic look at what's really needed to succeed. Thanks for this one man...keep them comin.

Sharing is caring! Thank you! I've been in the business for 20+ years and those numbers doesn't correlate with mine at all, because I'm living in other country and taxes and salaries and shit is different. I'm just a soundman, but watching your channel I've learned some cool stuff. I wish you, your employees and your family the best! Keep up the good work!

People have no idea how much work we do and the expenses we have before/after every event. You work hard for your success and to take care of your family. You have been an inspiration for years and always willing to help others. Once we turn the corner, I'm sure you will hit that Million $$ mark. Happy Holidays.

Super interesting! I chosen before covid to go back to the basic and to shrink down my company... less expense, less stress, less work and paperwork. It's nice to see someone who go full throttle and to be able to do it!

Thank you brother for the info and the inspiration to step out on faith with knowledge to run an entertainment business. My business name is Down South Audio Concepts and Entertainment. Of Clanton AL. This is my rebrand of a dj company I had in high school. I'm trying to transition my company from just djing to also doing live sound and production as well also doing live sound applications for churches, and residential audio visual installation. Thank you for your transparency brother. It's helping me a lot. God bless you and your family brother.

Great content. I've been a DJ for a long time, but it has always been a side hustle. My mind set has changed recently, I want to make it my priority focus. Your video came up in a random news feed, but I will definitely be tuning in again :-)

Wow! That is a very good video, I appreciate it, I also want to start a DJ business here in Canada and grow, there is a lot to learn in the company side, specially on payroll, how much should I put myself as an income for a gig that I worked on and how much should be for my "company", as the "company" is the one that buys equipment and pay helpers or roadies as you call them, etc and we want to keep our company profitable, as well. The best of luck on 2021!

It would be interesting to hear about your taxes and also how you calculate your equipment depreciation. Do you do any investing? What about retirement, or a possible sale of the company at a later date? Excellent video, as always.

I have been doing mostly school dances, weddings, and teenage birthday parties for 42 years as a sideline with a show just about every weekend to work around my job schedule. Now that I am retired I have a lot more time on my hands to focus on the shows. I used to own the biggest dance club in Alabama back in the 90's so I have a lot of equipment. My question to you is how do you get those higher paying shows? I always seem to run into "we can't afford to pay that much" or "we can get so and so to do it for this" and I usually end up booking the show for $400 to $500 rather than not getting it at all. It can be frustrating hearing about someone with a laptop and 2 speakers making $1,500 when we set up a whole trailer full of equipment for $500. Any ideas? Thanks
